LOVE this! Always enjoy when ATC is included and it's fun to see and hear the traffic while you are sitting between runways. Really nice job on this. Subscribed!
You can see a Cessna landing on 14L at Boeing field at 7:49. After this you can see all of the 737 MAX's that were grounded and undelivered. Nice video!
This is hands down the BEST Seattle landing video around! The views of the surrounding areas and geography are stunning. And the ability to watch all of the air traffic while between the runways is so unique. The ATC is just the cherry on top. Well done!
@@WanderTheWorld Most people don't find SeaTac easy to get in and out of traffic wise, but don't mind it at all. I hear most people say they'd rather go to PDX than Sea-Tac. Not me. It's the familiarity with the layout at Sea-Tac and the natural beauty that surrounds the airport. The Cascade mountain ranges, the water, the airplanes all around, the pretty mild weather, and the green trees 🌲. I know SeaTac has a real problem right now with not being able to expand, but I do like the airport. :)
Thanks for the excellent and thoughtful response! Scenery wise, I think there are few airports that can match it! And maybe it’s just because I’m familiar with it but logistically it doesn’t bother me. I can’t really see PDX as a viable alternative. And nothing compares with those rare clear days when you’re heading south and fly right by Mt Rainier. 🏔️
At about 8:53 you were flying over my old 'hood of Boulevard Park. I lived practically under the flight path! I love 747s so much that when I'd hear on ATC that a "heavy" was coming in, I had to run out to admire it. Thanks so much for this! I live in Ohio now, and really, really miss the familiarity of the greater Seattle area. I could name just about everything I was seeing down there. It's cool you landed from the North, much more interesting than just flying over Tacoma and Federal Way!
Southbound traffic is great for both approach and departure, but northbound approach on a snowy day is unreal. Seeing mt rainier and plunging through the clouds, then it takes several seconds to realize you’re below the clouds and everything is covered in snow and it’s just so majestic
Wife and I spent time in Seattle a few years back. We loved it. We wish we could afford to buy property/live there. We also found the airport easy to use, efficient, and had good access to and from the downtown area.
This is really cool. I flew from Chicago to SeaTac because I attended a high school for three years. I’ve always loved airplanes. and enjoyed several flights back and forth. Thank you to the Pilots and flight Attendants who made my journey to graduate with my high school diploma a success.
We arrived on AS128 via this approach in August 2021. I had the same perspective/view. I was able to spot a departing cruise ship as well. The Carnival Miracle maybe? But flight 128 went all the way up to Everett before turning downwind. So I saw some nice views of PAE and many green 777-9s. Very kool! Great video and the ATC audio is awesome! Thank you for posting!
During high traffic density the aircraft (and if the wind is favoring the 16 runways), ATC does vector arrivals all the way up to Everett on downwind before turning onto base. Just depends on how much space they need between the aircraft and how many need to get down.
I've lived in the first four cities/neighborhoods (since WC is unincorporated) you listed! I'm a Southender through-and-through. Get me north of the U-District and I'm lost.
It is all about quick and concise communication, a must at any busy airport. The happy talk is common at smaller airports, but the majors just keep it quick and simple. And for good reason...they are too busy for it!
