As usual you were amazing in telling people what their items are worth. I can't believe that gorgeous painting that she paid $3.99 for turned out to be worth $1,500 !!!! Wow, she really scored that one
OMG I stopped the video, went to ebay, typed in Ben Amun, bought Vintage Ben Amun Maltese Cross Pendant multicolor 4/3/1inch for $65!! TO EASY!! Thanks Dr. Lori!!
Just bought an unsigned vintage print of a parrot at a thrift store for 49.95, in an amazing frame...it's on a heavy board, and I can't see anything on the back..but the cool thing is they had framed art at BOGO free...I didn't see anything that appealed to me at that price, but I picked up a beautifully framed print of "The Berry Pickers" ..after the etching. See one on Etsy at $315.00! It was priced at $29.95. Keeping the parrot, reselling the Berry Pickers.. My other great score was a signed Kosta Boda 6" Blue vase...worth around $300...for $1.00!
What delightful treasures! Pearls *and* Sterling, oh my 😍. Presentation was perfection, thank you, Dr.Lori! I don't do socials, but have shared with resellers I know. Love the newsletter. Can't thank you enough for your shared wisdom. You are a blessing to us whom watch.
Always love hearing these stories. Congrats to all those folks who found real bargains. Now that I'm moved in and unpacked, I can get another video call lined up to show you more thrifted treasures.
I like watching you as often as possible. Today i am not feeling well so I am binging. Thank you for what you do Dr. Lori! I have thoroughly enjoyed having appraisals done as well as watching your videos.
Dr Lori is 100% correct about Goodwill online. They miss stuff all the time. You just have to be willing to look. It is getting harder to find bargains (especially paintings) because of smarter, educated buyers (probably learning from Dr Lori). However, you can still get things at reasonable prices (maybe not 10% of the value but 30% or 40%) --- if you listen to Dr Lori, binge watch the videos, and know what to look for. I'm also pretty sure Dr Lori would help you shop and give you tips, if you wanted a shopping buddy.
I just LOVE your videos and newsletter! Today’s covered Corning ware! We have a set of (if I remember right) called Oregon Trail done in browns. It isn’t listed in your email but I forwarded the letter to my sister for selling. It was 3 square pieces with lids ❤️
Dr. Lori, is it possible to appraise my antique chinese bed by using the form in your website? The problem is my Chinese bed is in my house in Indonesia while I live now in South America and I have only a picture of my bed 😁
I can attest to the fact that shopgoodwill misses items all the time. Sometimes, they even misidentify pieces. I won a gorgeous mid century Fratelli Toso gold and copper aventurine piece that was marked as a ceramic vase. I also won a beautiful Don Langford oil painting (seascape) that was marked as an acrylic. Got both for next to nothing. Lots of great finds, just got to know what to look for!
I have the generic version of the parrot on a ring perch. Its made out of wood, painted with a signature - just not that signature 😂. I still like him though, he is very colorful.
People use my online appraisal reports to help them sell. The reports include a location where a similar piece sold and for how much. This helps answer your question for a specific item. One person used my report to help them sell a plate for over $1,000. They bought the plate at a yard sale for $1.
