These look really cool! How do you guys even start out doing this? I want to do something like this for fun but... I don't even know where I'd see or do this
Hello. I just have two questions. For maintaining your steel armor, (not titanium armor) what oil do you use for providing a long lasting protective barrier against rust over time? Is it a spray oil? And what do you use WHEN the ACTUAL visible rust appears on the armor?
@@IronCrownWorkshop Good day. I was wondering whether You could tell me how thick the under armour padding should be. I've searched a lot about materials one's made of but couldn't find any recommended, so to say, thickness so I'm hoping You, an enthusiast, could help me. Thanks
Pretty much all are individual commisions or home made. My own armour was an ongoing project from about 2003, when it was ordered, and it was delivered in 2007, then evolved every year since then.. the full horse armour being complete in 2020? So well over 140 armour and weapon sets in this event
the fighting allowed for a lot of techniques and many different fighters from many different countries were active. there was no injuries at all, which was rather nice, given the level of ambition of the event.
imagine telling a medieval man at arms that in 500 years men will play fight in full battle attire without any harming or killing, even besieging fake castles and forts, funding the wars from their own coin purse and that at the end of each battle they would then cheer and come together to feast and drink ale and then do it again next week..... :D
These doors were placed in there for the event, and very much meant for destruction. Obviously using actual petards (medieval holllow charges) or fire would not have been a safe option. a larger heavier battering ram could have been used, Basically the gates held, already, we had a cannon shoot a blank charge and then we took the gates down from the premisse that the gate was hit with a cannon, as is described a bunch of times. but yes, medieval gates are very sturdy things and these flimsy ones already were too sturdy., the assualt over the wall with ladders was also repulsed.
With medieval music, it would be great. But sorry !- not with this kind of Hans-Zimmer- epic stuff...you can do that better, im sure of it. I really like your style and the your effort and time you put in this !
