I just came in from sandblasting my old Road Runner's lower control arms in preparation for cosmoline dipping... I looked down and, dammit, I have sandals on! lol :(
The SXT Plus is a better car. I have owned them both 12' SXT Plus & 14 R/T 100th anni. The R/T is in the shop for the 5th time. Yes the RT is faster, and has a fast acting transmission. The 8speed auto is a little slow on the trigger when floored. 5 speed auto is nearly instant. That is its ONLY advantage. The SXT has a better ride, less road noise, better gas mileage, and can have every option the RT has except the v8 engine. Save yourself around 4 grand and get the SXT plus. I wish I still had mine. You can see the reviews of my personal chargers on my page.
Oh please! I own a 2013 SXT and I love it. I can add a pro-charger and a tune and be right there going head to head with a r/t when it comes to horse power.
I'm Just Bustin' Your Chops LoL! I recently cashed out on a 2012 Pursuit package W/Hemi so I think I'm the S**t at the moment. LMAO!!! Good luck with the SRT-8!
Black grille and spoiler. It looks better when everything's blacked out anyways. Without the spoiler, the charger just doesn't look complete. It looks nekid
I have a 2013 Charger SXT Plus V6 and I DO have the Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning. It is available as an option package on either model, as is the rear cross path detection. Great car!
I just finished up a 3 day rental of an all black 2012 charger V6 SE...loved it, wish I couldn't kept it lol ..I was getting constant compliments & looks..got it up to 120mph on a short stretch of highway..
I have a 2013 R/T Max - rear wheel drive. A couple of MAJOR things you left out. The rear park assist and the lane change / blind spot warning on the R?T Max. The rear park assist has a row of sensors that alert you when you are getting close to an object. The lane change / blind spot monitor warns you if there is a car in your blind spot when changing lanes. Both of those devices certainly come in handy!
Interviewed an EVOC trainer and they tested the RT and SXT cars. The city PDs really liked the SXT because it pushed way less (Maybe due to weight) through the EVOC courses. The Highway patrol really like the RT version. This is from SoCal. I personally own the 2013 Daytona and love the car. SXT is nothing to be ashamed of.
Not true, I have a Charger SXT Plus AWD Sport, with adaptive cruise control. (the "eye" in the front of the car that you speak of". This feature is not exclusive to the Hemi.
Exactly about the spoiler I have a 12 silver SXT + BT without the spoiler but with sunroof, no camera possible either as mine was built when there was a shortage of the 8.4N which was stock, Dodge knocked 1K off the sticker for that, which suits me fine having the smaller screen gives a slot in the dash that fits your wallet. Specs I have seen are 6.6 0-60 for the 3.6 8 speed. Try pulling the shifter like you would a column by memory it works great took some time to get used to it.
If you want the sport look on the R/T models , you have 2 choices. First you can get the R/T road & track package which comes with the blacked out grill and better tires and breaks for the track enthusiast. # 2 , if you want All wheel drive you get it with the SPORT package which will come with a blacked out grill , paddle shifters , and black insert , steel face tires that really make the car look very aggressive . There are all different styles available with this car .
There is a reason the V6 with the 8spd has a 2 into 1 2-1/4" exhaust... drop in a high flow air cleaner, and open the exhaust and you will get to see how fast the 3.6L really is; I haven't even tuned it yet.
He says you cant turn the tires in the V6? Mine sure will... just press the traction control button. With a couple of mods to the air intake and the exhaust it will sound just like the Hemi as well. Plus get even better gas mileage and 13 extra horses. No where near the extra 5 grand either.
I have Both I just bought a Ram 1500 and without any mods to the exhaust they sound exactly alike. I have the Charger with the Penstar V6 as well both 2013. The truck rides a hell of a lot better. I am looking for a cold air intake here in Utah. So far the only place I can locate em is at a Dodge dealership. I can't see paying double the price. Anyone know where to get them in AirAid or K&N here in Utah?
i recently rented a v6 charger and loved driving it, i was disapionted because i am use to driving a standard and could not spin the tires easily with the automatic, i didn't know about the traction control option, that would have made the experience a little bit better. it still was fast and impressed my dates :)
The thing with 8 speed is it’s an adjustment I throw mine into w.e effortlessly after having my car for a while so yea of course at first it feels weird
I found the transmission to very adaptive and the handling balance to be much better on the 3.6 but I have a lot more miles on it. Check the build quality very carefully mine has paint flaws and numerous interior and exterior assembly issues.
Which ever one you choose/own, I really don't see them being around 20 years from now. Unfortunately that can be said about most cars these days. Way too many expensive electronics that when they begin to have issues most owners wont want to put the money into fixing them. I wish they would put the new 3.0L VM-Motori V6 Diesel in the charger. I wouldn't mind having one with that engine and the AWD.
I know you said youwante a R/T Max but you might want to consider the R/T Road&Track. It'll have the powertrain and the look you like right out of the factory. BUT, if money is'nt the issue then anything is possible. If you want the Max you can definitely get the options you desire.
They both look like cop cars too me. When people look at you in these cars its not because youre cool, its because people want to know if their about to pass a state trooper!
noezzi Ion know about your state but in my state a state trooper is usually lit up wit hella decals and a big ass antenna on the back of the trunk. Not a simple plain color. Would’ve been better if you said a cop 🤨
I have a question, I want a RT max RWD and I want to have those exact blacked out wheels and grill. Is it possible that I could get those put on the RT max as an option along with the Sun roof? I pretty much want a black on black RT max.
Not much of a close comparison, It's kind of like Apples (R/T Max) to Oranges (SXT Plus) It would have been a much closer comparison had it been of the SXT Plus and the R/T Plus
I have been trying to find out can I put 22 inch rims directly on my dodge charger sxt its an older 2010 model rear wheel drive high output 3.5 v6.. I have to admit I am a little scared to do it because when I had my 03 Chevy impala LS front wheel drive 3.8 v6. I ENDED UP HAVING TO GET 2700 BUCKS WORTH OF WORK DONE TO MY TRANNY AND RACK AND PINIOT.Please someone tell me what I would have to do to put my 22 on the charger..My rims are just stacked up and I look them everyday like damn they are pretty but are they worth me screwing up my car..
Thanks for that info I had no idea, because I think my tires a little thinner that are on the rims now.. Someone else told me that as well something about the charger being a heavier car than the impala..
Oscar Moore just make sure you use the correct tire size mentioned above to keep your wheel diameter the same as stock. Also really heavy rims can have negative effects on a car as well so if they are made of aluminum then you'll be fine but if they are cast steel chrome wheels then that might add stress to your entire drive system causing both lose of acceleration, mpg and more wear and tear to your bushings. Coming from someone that did the same mistake. You live you learn :P
Also, the sound of the car is different. That v6 doesn't sound like the 5.7 at all. So despite 19" vs 20" wheels, also, don't cross over your legs, too feminine. lol
Ik it’s a old comment but mine stock 2011 rt fully loaded I dynoed my car at whp stock it’s making 364 which means the motor really pushing 415 ish They under sold the hp for insurance reasons look around a lot of them r making this power stock
lol I just gave you the link to go look at my car and yet you whine and nag claiming im lying about a sedan ive owned for 2 yrs already. lol notice the only person crying wolf is a broke kid whos never even owned a license let alone drive one :)
LMAO, right? I drive a '12 Yellow Jacket and I can't take anyone wearing sandals seriously, especially not talking about cars. Oh, I also had an '07 SRT8 Charger before I got my Yellow Jacket, and I had to rent a sxt challenger in Philly, that v6 is like a box of kittens. It's CRAZY docile. lame.
