I love watching anime, especially where theres a series that involves some medicine or medical science. What better anime to watch than Dr. STONE.
In this video I watch DR. STONE and explain the medicine behind his madness. Does his science really stack up and can he save the new world with his scientific mind?
So if you want to find out whether you can make life saving antibiotics with a combination of things you can find in the outdoors, then this is for you.
If you enjoyed this please LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE and check out my other videos

Well, in a simplified form, (which Senku is trying to teach novices) it’s a perfect way to describe penicillin. Where there’s just random ordinary mould, and a rare, super fantastic mould that kills bacteria. Getting more detailed than that would just confuse those who haven’t studied medicine for decades, including simple tribal villagers. (As well as us)

Another thing I like about Dr Stone is that he also fails at times. Just like in real life, it doesn't always go as planned, and sometimes those experiments literally explodes in his face. But then he improves on his ideas until it makes what he was planning. And it makes it more fun to watch.

There's quite a mix of science and engineering in Dr. Stone that in order for the common folks to understand this show, every kind of scientists and engineers must sit and review the episodes together. In the manga as of today, there's not much medical science in the story after the sulfa drug.

When someone works extremely hard at something to the point where they are changing the entire nature of their knowledge and mind-set (i.e: breaking their limits, just like Saitama) it overheats the brain and this is compensated by a loss of hair to help cool the head. I like how anime's reached a point with people where it's just respected as a modern art form. The drama, the style, the music, things that people would have tried to mock not so long ago are now all appreciated as their own unique expression of creativity. I love how this gentlemen went through and just had fun appreciating how Dr. Stone conveyed and explored a scientific field he's fluent in, and, if anything, *enjoyed* the bizarre spice it's form as an anime gave it all. You HAVE to watch "My Hero Academia" if you liked "Dr. Stone"!!! It's a fantastically written anime about "Quirks" aka superhuman abilities and the consequences they have on humans and society as a whole. If you want a spike in traffic to your page dive into My Hero Academia. The characters in that show have some crazy abilities, but just like real life, they have limits when using their quirks (over heating for fire quirk, freezing when using a ice quirk. Anyway.... At the very least you'll be glad you watched an amazing anime, I honestly believe you would do a good job of analyzing that anime....

I want to note, you mentioned how you can learn something about branding from the show, but the entire opening is actually a really good way of showing foreshadowing. The entire opening theme has very minor points of foreshadowing thrown in, as a lot of shows do. The first one maybe not quite as much as the second one does, but it explains the plot quite a bit, things like senku being alone for a very long time before taiju is awakened, hence the walking alone in the woods, then we have the foreshadowing of the villain, then we have the other characters being introduced and the foreshadowing of the tournament, and more.

although senku is broadly learning science and technology...medical science is probably one of the subject that he didn't delved too much into...some dr who reacted disected it even more to the technical stuff and they pretty much don't agree with how he handled the situation
@TheOverlordEND
@TheOverlordEND 3 года назад
Yeah, man. They only have Senku too to ask for help. Spoiler In manga, one of the people got seriously injured that even Senku ask a real medical students to attend to them rather than doing it himself, he knows the drug but he certainly doesn't know how to handle the situation.

lol was going to suggest an episode of black jack or you black jack. only to see that you've already reacted to it. truly a man of the people. so my suggestion is the 3rd episode from season 1 of the medical drama Minakata Jin aka JIN. a brain surgeon finds himself transported to the feudal era with nothing but his medical bag. and has to deal with the moral issue of trying not to cause a butterfly effect. in episode 3 he's trying to deal with a cholera outbreak. English is my third language so please forgive any spelling or grammatical errors. I am still learning.

Hey Doctor , As someone who is allergic to penicillin. I was wondering if there is any major sickness stuff i should be weary about that might be tough to cure without penicillin ? Sorry if this sounds like silly question I'm pretty clueless about medicine stuff...I usually just tough it out if I'm feeling sick or whatever.

One of the things truly impressive about this show is how realistic it is. They did a lot of research for this. Most of the things in this show can be done.

For an example on the old TVs drop a 80s model TV on your foot and besides possibly breaking the bones you get endless stitches. The new flat screen TVs you get a little bruising and some tenderness alone if the screen doesn't break

This was a nice video to watch from a doctor's perspective! just a note; your voice contrasts with clips of the show, i.e., you talking is quite soft and it gets rather loud when it transitions to the anime.

Knowing what we know now about medical experiments and how often "discoveries" end up completely useless, it's kind of amazing that Alexander Fleming got lucky enough to find this mold, notice it killed bacteria, and was lucky that it ONLY killed bacteria and didn't turn out to be poisonous to humans. That and purifying it into drug form must've been challenging. It really shows you why it took us so long to figure out antibiotics
