It’s not “wrong or gross” to wash one’s garments only when really needed, i.e. sweaty, spotted or grimy. I hardly wash my clothes at all, except for underwear, nightdresses, socks and my exercise clothes, which of course, I wear clean ones everyday. Not needlessly washing clothes is the correct way to take care of them. We Westerners all shower/bathe and use deodorant every day, so our clothes generally don’t get stinky, except workout ones and undies. Here in the US, most people wash and machine-dry everything they wear every time, then complain that their clothes don’t last! Of course, no machine-drying, ever, unless you want to deliberately shrink a cotton tee, etc. My clothes last a long, long time since I stopped using my dryer and washing un necessarily. Light, non-body odors can be removed by steaming, which also removes wrinkles and refreshes the fabric, and airing in front of a fan. Airing and brushing helps keep outerwear and blazers clean, too. I also spot removal with Shout Wipes or Folex, if the spot comes out without a residue, I just re-wear it. I wear only natural fibers and I especially love wearing silk for many reasons, but the practical reasons are that it doesn’t get soiled easily, needs no ironing (except for the first to get packing creases out), is lightweight and non-bulky, so it’s perfect for travel.❤

If certain items are clean but have some body odour, I put them in the freezer for a few days. Seems to kill the bacteria.

I think that this is true for natural fabrics. If they are not natural, they get stinky pretty quickly. Once you go for quality fibres you never go back! I can honestly wear a cashmere jumper about 20 times - as long as I don't spill anything it still smells and looks great.

Like you, dear Mashid, I have a separate garment rack in my bedroom for items worn once or twice, then after three or four wearings, they go into the wash. I draw clothes from this rack first when putting outfits together for the next week or two. I don’t like to put anything into my main closet unless it’s freshly laundered. I’ve smelled closets of people who put everything back in to their closet, with those old, dichlorobenzene mothballs (now banned in the YS) and old perfume and sweat odors, it’s pretty awful. I don’t really like cedar or lavender smells that much, but I do put little lavender packets in with my woolies in their summer storage, zippered cloth bags. When I get them out for the season, probably around December first, I steam them to remove the creases anyway, and with airing by my fan, most of the lavender smell goes away. I love the French brand Sezane, but I’m having a big problem with the perfume they spray on their clothes, I hate it. Fragrance preference is so personal, and I hate more of them than I like, or tolerate.

Im exactly the same - I get really upset with that Sezane smell - you can smell it from a mile away and I find it overpowering.

I enjoy your videos so much; your style is so inspiring and lovely to watch! I've lost count of how many pieces I've bought because of you haha! My most recent purchase was the Khaite dupe cardigan from H&M in grey. I live in Canada and had to order it from Europe to send to my parents' house and I can't wait to pick it up when I visit next. Great to see you've started to incorporate more colour :) The vests looks great on you because you have slender arms; I also find something like that hard to wear given they are sleeveless but knitted...never sure of the type of weather they would fit (?) Also glad to see you've brought out the Chanel dad sandals again; for a while, I thought you'd taken a break from them. I've made the most of mine this summer and love wearing them with wide pants especially! Last thing, I totally agree with washing pants or knits as rarely as possible. Unless something comes into direct contact with the underarms or is an underware piece, it is pointless and bad for the fabric!

Aww, my dear, thank you so so much! I agree on sleeveless knitted vests, I love them as a layering piece over t-shirts but they can get too warm, worn alone in the warmer months. I absolutely love those Chanel sandals, I wear them all the time. The only reason I haven't been showing them more often, is because I was too lazy to clean the sole for filming inside 😅.

Been debating getting the Alaia heart bag in a pop of red and this video gave me an extra push, being able to wear bags from evenings to daytime is important especially if you are paying a premium price

I love every outfit 😍 totally agree with you that we don’t need to wash clothes that often. Especially sweaters . Wool and cashmere should be aired and washed as less as possible . I always have a T-shirt under my wool or cashmere sweaters. Would you be so kind to tell which trench coat you are wearing 3:30 ? I believe large. If you are going to wear them without any other additional pieces then large is great but if you want them together with the add-ons then I would go small. They all fit but small is nicer in comparison with the other pieces in my opinion. Thank you for the question! 💕
