These guys have helped me through everything when I was homeless living in Denver. Lots of loneliness, depression and late night drives without a destination. Just a list of my favorite RF songs to keep me company. And it helped me through it all. I know it did. Their music puts me in a better place. A place where someone totally understands and knows where I was coming from without even having to physically be there with me.
Dear Real Friends, My name is Michael Knight, I'm 21 years old. I live in a small town in East Texas, I grew up in some less than ideal circumstances. But I just wanted to let you know, that the music that you make, and the thought that there are other people that have gone through the same things I have, has honestly saved my life. I can't explain how. Just know that you guys have impacted my life is such a huge way. thank you so much for everything you've done for me. Sincerely Michael Knight
I've only been listening to Real Friends for 8 months or so, but already they have had such a tremendous impact on my life. My life was feeling pretty rough. Depression had a pretty good grip on me because I was feeling so alone. The Army stationed me across the country away from all my friends so was feeling isolated, since all I had was myself. One day I was listening to some TSSF and noticed Real Friends as a suggested band. I had heard of them but never had I listened to them before, so I decided to give them a listen. As soon as I heard the line, "I guess to took a year to realize that what I had was everything I needed to feel okay" from Floorboards, goosebumps ran across my arms. At that moment, all those feelings I had lifted away. The same feelings that I was having seemed like they were being expressed through their music. The connection I made to their music was such an awesome feeling. I just really want to thank this band for all the effort and emotion they put into their music, because I know that what they create helps so many people get through what ever difficulties they may be going through!
"This is Eric, first he was working at Target across the street, now he's playing Warped Tour!!!!" *Eric starts dancing* -Dan (Warped Tour 2014) They have done great over the past year. ❤
by just listening - and i mean real listening, on headphones or something like that - you can FEEL that they are real, that there's a deep passion, and a lot of bands are passionate about their music and their craft, but it's hard to transmit this emotion to the listener, and they manage to do it somehow in such a raw and deep way . they are incredible
I love how much heart they put into their band, their music, and their fans. They've helped me with a lot of my own personal problems, because I feel like someone understands. And that's really important. Thank you, Real Friends.
it's a fuckin' trip to see where they came from, who they were, what they did to what they are now. They've gone from a "group of 5 guys... [some] who don't quite fit in yet." to "Playing with my best friends and doing what we all love most." Then to see the impact they have on everyone? I mean read the shit down below.. Saw these guys in SF a few days ago. I always wanted to play music but i don't have anyone to play with. They've inspired me to just do this shit myself (since I'm able to pick up anything and play.) This is what they've done for me and hopefully I'll make it out there on tours. Keep inspiring and healing. Fuckin' amazing.
The part where Eric talks about working at target makes me want to give him a big hug. You guys sacrificed so much to bring us your beautiful music. Even though you're gone now I will have these memories forever. Thank you Real Friends.
I love this band so much. ❤ They have changed the way I look at things, they have made me cry almost every night because there has never been a band that has related to me as much as Real Friends have. Kyle, Dan, Dave, Brian, and Eric are my medicine when it comes to heartbreak, the sad boys have kept me going for the past few months. And idk where I'd be without them.... ❤
Whenever one of them said "fast forward" I was hoping they'd follow it with "to 2am". Either way, this video is awesome. It reminds me how much music means to me. Thank you, Real Friends.
Fuck, it makes me so happy to see that y'all still have jobs and still work part-time. It lets me know that you can still do shit you wanna do, even though you have to do shit you don't wanna do. Y'all are fucking awesome. Hope to see y'all when you come to Texas with Senses Fail!
It's so cool to see this. Not only is it amazing to see this much-deserving band get the credit they deserve, but to see Dave (a hs buddy of mine) & his bandmates doing this in such a familiar place
The amount of love that I have for this band is ridiculous. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't listen to at least one of their songs. I connect with the lyrics, and there is nothing like going to a Real Friends show. All I can say is thank you.

I listened to one of you're songs and I liked it. Then I seen this video and this video ment a lot to me just to see people who actually aren't in it for the money and the fame and they are just in it for the fun and to hangout with friends and touch people with their music, I want to thank you guys for what you do and standing out from every other band.
This band has undoubtedly changed my perspective on life. I'm so happy to be a part of this kind of music scene because these guys are so humble. They've inspired me to start writing music.
I love you guys. I can not wait for the new record. And I love Luke's spoken word videos as well. You guys are so great. Keep doing what you love and never change. I am planing on seeing you guys with senses fail and such gold.
Much love to Real Friends. The fact that you guys put your heart into it really shows. I'm in a hard time in life and your lyrics definietly help me get through it. Please never stop making music.
saw you guys for the first time at chain reaction on the 19th; it is so damn inspiring to watch you guys play. i've never felt more at home then in that crowd, with all those random people shouting the words to your songs. you've changed so many peoples lives, including mine, for the better. thank you, so much.
So much inspiration. This makes me want to start a pop punk band and influence people with our music just like these guys. Thank you Real Friends, from all of us,
this band means so much to me, honestly. I have only recently gotten into them about last year, but every minute of every day, I still think about their songs and their lyrics, and how much they mean to me. They have helped me get through so much, including depression, recent loss, and other things. I fell in love with these guys the moment I heard the first song by them. You guys mean so much to me, and thank you for all that you have helped me achieve.
