When I complain about the level of customer service to be found generally in Guyana it is because at the back of my mind I wish I could share experiences like this with the staff that treat me like an inconvenience. Perhaps it is a legacy of colonialism that we feel there is something bad about genuinely trying to be nice and the notion of being of service to someone else. If you want great service in Guyana head to somewhere like Night Cap, Oasis, The Backyard Grill, Coal Pot, a little creole kitchen tucked away on Garnett Street, Red Cherry on Robb street. These places exist but I can't name you more than ten without deep meditation. What makes this particular video inspiring and worthy of a share is the passion this entrepreneur has for his product, the fact the shop staff don't shoot me down for taking out a camera as would be the case back home but embrace the opportunity to publicize their product and build their brand. When you walk into a business and it is clear thought has gone into much more than the product but also the aesthetic and the customer experience with people this friendly at the counter you would buy the chocolate even if it wasn't amazing but it surely was.
