As a Rajasthani from India we are always taught about "Lok kahani" because History is written through a foreigners lens, while "Lok kahaniya" is by the original inhabitants of the area. Rajasthan's story is different from the story of India as a whole. Most of Britishers, Persians,Turks etc saw the subcontinent as India/Hindustan but only "Lok kahaniya" will give you the story of particular region of the subcontinent. So we Indians always prefer "Lok kahaniya".... As a Rajasthani i prefer Rajasthan Lok kahaniya rather than History written by a guy from Delhi.
