Fun fact: there was actually a real-life case of an innocent man who was charged with murder, who was in fact at a Dodgers' game at the time the crime was committed. What saved him was the fact that the show Curb Your Enthusiasm happened to be filming at the game at the time, and one of the shots from the show's extra footage shows him in the background. Without that, he may have been sent to death row.

It would be very drawn out and boring, most likely. Court trials can take months to years if the defendant waves their right to a speedy trial (which is logical if the defense needs more time to gather evidence.) In order to make it entertaining and even bearable for the average viewer, they’d have to cut a lot of procedures out of the script

@matthewmitchell3457

Okay, but surely there's a way to conjure up a court case that's interesting enough for TV, right? By "realistic", I don't mean your average, everyday case, but one that could generate headlines but could plausibly happen. And of course you would cut out all the boring parts that aren't strictly necessary and compress the events into whatever length is appropriate. By "as accurate as possible", I don't mean literally as realistic as humanly possible to everyday life, I mean one that doesn't violate established courtroom laws and procedures without acknowledging the unusualness and making it part of the story, that kind of idea.

@MA I appreciate your perspective, and you might be right. Personally though, I don't think he's actually a racist or anything. He definitely does play with stereotypes though. I just think he doesn't really give a damn, which is why he puts so little thought into these stories. And that's really my gripe with him, if he actually cares about these issues, he would have put actual effort into these stories.

@MA Good points. It sounds like you've seen a lot more of his videos than I did. But I gotta say, I know exactly what you're talking about with the "he/she might be rich" lessons, and I completely agree. Like wtf kind of lesson is that? That treating poor people like garbage is okay, as long as they're actually poor? I also hate how he always inserts his name into the dialogue to make himself look good... "Dhar Mann is my favorite! Did you know that he gives all his money to the homeless. Who could ever not like him, all he does is spread love and joy to the world!" That type of stuff, and as I'm sure you know, I am in absolutely no way exaggerating. it's all so gross. There's a reason his videos target kids, they're easier to BS and fool than grown adults. Kids are easy money to Mann. What makes it even worse is that hes "teaching" terrible lessons, lessons no sane person would want their kids to learn.

Judge: Do have any evidence of this claim. Defense : No, but have a briefcase with random papers hanging out of it. ADA: and your honor I just admitted in court to prosecutorial misconduct based entirely on overt racism, which will almost surely be overturned on appeal. But then again defense counsel is completely incompetent, so I’m not worried.

12:58 My Mandarin tutor was getting a divorce and her attorney kept saying stuff like “let’s take the deal” and “yeah you have a copy of his journal which literally proves he was the one sleeping around and not you, but let’s give your copy to him like he’s asking for.” While she finally took my advice of finding another friggin lawyer, I wish she would take that first lawyer to court over this. Indeed not to mention the stadium is going to have security and CCTV and all that stuff. They pretty much have to have both to protect their revenue and of course they host large public events which are clearly a potentially high profile target for any crackpot that wants to make a statement too so you need to be on the lookout for suspicious people attempting to smuggle in arms or whatever.

@@justasentientmclarenp1879 I mean, I chalk that up to Dhar Mann just not knowing how mandatory maximum sentencing works/that it exists. Or that he wanted to drive the point of "this unjust" home with a sledgehammer. As a total aside, does anyone else feel like all his videos would work better as Saturday-morning, over-the-top cartoons? Dhar Mann could have had a career at Warner Bros, making Looney Tunes sketches, I swear. Yosemite Sam as the prosecutor, Porky Pig as the defense lawyer, maybe Bugs Bunny as the judge...it could totally work.
