I completely understand cleaning without the kids when the mess is too big, deep and wide for them to handle. Due to schedules, my house is a mess. I've been working on laundry and trying to clean my kitchen while listening to you.

I’m always so impressed with your ability to rally and get it done! That’s something I’m still working on. I suffered from major clinical depression for most of my life until I had TMS (Transcranial magnetic stimulation) treatments. I haven’t had a major depression episode in almost 2 years! I recommend it to everyone who suffers from major clinical depression. Now I just have to unlearn a lifetime of bad habits created by depression🙄 I’m working on it!

The decluttering will help you so much! Less stuff = less of a mess! If you can get the kids involved too, they get to pick some toys they give away to children who have less and that will make them feel good about it. Put some toys in bins in the basement, if they haven't asked for them in a month, just donate them.

Hi there! I'm not a mama but I struggle with ADHD as well as fibromyalgia when it comes to cleaning. These motivational vids keep me company and help me focus when I have the spoons to clean.

We've always worked with my toddler as she was getting older to clean up what she was done playing with b4 getting other things out.. it keeps her from feeling distracted by a mess and it's not overwhelming for her to clean up when she's done.

I have cluttered the heck out of my spare bedroom, and every time I'd go upstairs, I'd get more and more overwhelmed, anxious, and depressed about it! I'd take my shower, get dressed, and I'm finding myself running from it, and going downstairs where it's clean! This video, (whether staged or not😆😆😆) has me getting in gear, thanks to you! Laura you are amazing! I wish we had RU-vid when my kids were younger! Something I did with the kids toys was have a smaller stash as Living Room toys and the rest went in their bedrooms. You might want to put half of the trucks,cars,etc in the attic and when the kids say they are bored have them switched out with the attic toys. It makes for less to clean on a daily basis. I also had my kids pick 10 toys to donate when new thinks come in. Hope this helps some.

Mighty Mamma, I have always cleaned without my kids input I find it easier. I have depression and anxiety and a back condition so I find it very difficult to clean a room. I am very much a perfectionist too with OCD. I try to do a bit at a time but I used to clean my whole house in a day so it is hard. I think that you focusing on your Aunt and other family was good for you and them at this difficult time. People are more important than the house but I know how good it feels to get a job done and see the results! Keep going Laura you are doing good but allow yourself some me time and time to grieve. I am not a parent, so feel free to laugh me right out of the room, but I learn allot from my sister and her small children. She keeps lock top labeled bins on a shelf in a separate room that contain the various small toys and she rotates them. Perhaps you could try something similar where your kids can trade in a bin of one type of small toy for a different bin, so they're essentially paying for the new bin with the toys they picked up to earn it?

My sons are 29 and 23 years old now. I do remember how tough it was … I got divorced by the time they were 7 and 2… and I was a working mom … I still strangle with depression and anxiety and today was one of those days that I just took the dishes from the washer, nothing else and I am completely drain.

First please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. But I just have to say this because, as a mother, especially during your added grief and the grieving process you will go through (I just found your channel and) my heart breaks for you. Please accept this with the love it is intended. While I know you are using your situation to create valuable content to help others, this in NO way excuses your children from adding to your stress. I’ve seen two so far that can walk on their own, and based on their toys they are adept at learning. I know when it gets overwhelming like this (them “helping”) is more stressful than doing it by yourself BUT if they continue to create disasters they know their mother will eventually pick up, they will continue their unacceptable behavior. Even if a child has developmental disability they can learn to help. I know that from my own experience. Perhaps style the learning in the form of whatever video games they like and make cleaning a game with rewards so they can identify the two with each other. I hope they are sat down and made to watch your videos so they can glean a clear understanding and new appreciation for your hard work, most of which could be eliminated if they just picked up after themselves at the end of the day. Perhaps toy rotation as I learned from my own experience that so many different choices for playing can further overstimulate and it shuts them down I know this sounds harsh but sometimes when children know that others are aware of their behavior, they change for the better because innately they know they are doing wrong. Same with those on a spectrum, it’s art of learning. Again, this is said in love and please don’t take it with condemnation. I will continue praying for you as we all know this is not easy. You’re a great and loving mother, God bless you.

I've never had children. But, my husband and I can make as much clutter just by ourselves. I was so overwhelmed. I watched your video and instantly I was back in track. Cleaning and De cluttering for years was a hobby for me...but depression kills a persons spirit. Thank you.

I watched this while cleaning my bedroom for my weekend (we have Friday and Sat off instead of Sunday), so I was happy to have my room refreshed. On a different note, the only thing I would note is that if Mr 4yo doesn't have to clean his big messes, then he doesn't really have any consequences for not following the rules when momma is stressed and busy. That's what eventually leads to him arguing with his girlfriend because the house is a disaster and she isn't cleaning it, when he is equally part of the mess. Maybe corral his toys, but after you're done cleaning, have him put away things properly to teach him that he is still responsible no matter how stressed you are or how bad it got. And don't let you guilt yourself into thinking because you didn't keep on him at the time that it's your punishment to clean up after him. He's old enough to know that he should have put them away.

Their depression is self inflicted because of their own toxicity and judgment. Your and my depression is different. We try to see the good and positive and that's why they don't understand how things get out of hand. Everyone has advice. Don't even give it another second of your time. I can't express enough how absolutely helpful and motivational you are to me, and I suspect to a lot of other people. I look for your videos every Saturday morning and it helps me get through the mental and physical mess. Thank you. For being here, thank you. 🧡

She said she has hoarders tendencies, especially when it comes to toys. I suggested her toy rotation as kids don't need all the toys all the time. And having children on a spectrum, as she said about them, would help them with less (overwhelming) visual input. You can spot baby toys and baby duplo and her youngest is 4, so for sure it is not staged as someone assume, she is really having very hard years. And it takes courage to talk so open about it!

It's just my husband and I and my 14 year old grandson , all 4 of my own kids are grown now and I totally crave big messes now not a whole lot to do anymore , it's kind of boring !!!!!

I love how real life this is. Some cleaning videos claim they have a super messy home and it looks like they cleaned before the video and the “mess” is staged and the house is decorated like a tv show, completely not like real life.

Oh my goodness! I thought my living room was the only one that looked like this lol! My grandkids destroy my house every day especially since I have both of them this summer! I have my food channel Watts Up Family Home but this is my home channel so I thought I would come catch up on some videos before the upcoming collab and subscribe on this channel!

I am a neat freak and somehow I ended up with SIX children who are not. When they were little I could go through regularly and make sure rooms were neat and clean. But, oh my goodness, now that they are teens and young adults, the struggle is real!

You did great, pray is all we have. He's my rock if it wasn't for him I don't do what would do, he gets me going everyday. So keep trying and believe he will get you through the day. GOD BLESSED YOU

About grief- it is so personal and I have experienced it in waves so I can appreciate that it derails normal expectations and habits. Under those circumstances, it seemed to me that not much competes with the loss except my family and their immediate priority needs of me. Plenty fine to be patient with yourself.

Yes, I did get up and clean with you! I changed the curtains in my master bath and used a new pressure rod to hang them (small window). I rinsed and put my dishes in the dishwasher and sorted a load of laundry. You are a good influence! Thank you.

I'm really impressed with your energy and like your videos, but also think you are a slave of your house, you have too much things but I thing this is normal in you country? I've never seen that mess in a house in all my life. For me it's very difficult to understand how is possible to live with such a lot of 'unnecessary staff". I struggle with severe anxiety bad depression and severe insomnia I never want to clean I hate it and I’m trying to break that

One more thing...when the mess gets out of control I would have the kids race who could pick up the most toys. Counting out loud is learning time too! Then cleaning is a game. I would have the kids help me fold and put away clothes and made them feel important by helping me. I have OCD and I had to just choose to teach them how and accept how the smaller ones folded. I would teach them every time and eventually they could do it themselves. I had to just learn to leave them poorly folded for a while so that they felt proud of themselves. I struggle with depression even still with my children gone and your videos help me be motivated. I love the talking parts!!!

I have two boys who are completely different when it comes to cleaning after themselfes. My older one loved his toys. He played with lots of toys at the same time and made huge messes all over the house. He would notice right away if anything was missing, so I couldn't really declutter anything. I eventually gave up and decided to not let it bother me. My younger one has always been a bit of a minimalist. He doesn't play with toys nearly as much as his brother, doesn't often ask me to buy toys and has always been very neat and tidy. I raised them in the same way, so I think being tidy at a young age is more of a personality trade. Parents should not blame themselves if their kids are a bit messy. They will learn over time with good role models, but you won't see the results until they are in their teens IMO

My 4 year old doesn’t pick up her toys but one morning she didn’t wake me up and instead came and did a few dishes that were left in the sink then came to wake me up and tell me about it 🤣and she always says “mommy I so proud of you” for cleaning, picking up, etc

You really did a good job. However the order and tidyness is not sustainable. Your couches are big for the living room and playroom. If you can eliminate the big toys from the living room you can get your living room back.

My niece loves to clean and will stop both her cousins in the middle of playing to clean because she can't stand the mess. She just came out the womb like that though so there's no tips or tricks to give. It's the complete opposite to my son who can't stand to put his toys away because they are his "friends" and he needs to have them all around him. I ask my sister to trade all the time 🤣
