ATTENTION LOYAL VIEWERS:
I have made the difficult decision to shut down The Ray Gun Project, effective immediately. Thank you for your interest in my work and supporting me along the way. It means a lot! I have learned valuable life lessons through my work, and I don’t regret a single thing I’ve done through this platform, but it’s time for me to move on. As a result, I will no longer be available to give personal replies to comments and emails. With that in mind, I have compiled a list of answers to frequently asked questions and inquiries below.
RGMKI PARTS KITS AND HARDWARE KITS
Follow these instructions to buy the 3D printed parts for the RGMKI - Prop Replica*
Go to make.autotiv.com and create an account
Once you reach your account “Home” page, click on the box “Plastic 3D Printing”
Upload ALL the STL files for your project (files are available on Thingiverse)
Under units, select “mm”
Under process, select “FDM”
Under material, select the “PLA” with the closest color for each part
Select Custom PETg for the “Glass” parts
Select Custom PLA for parts without a color match, like the Silver and Gold parts
Under quantity, select the quantity that matches the number at the end of the file name (if there’s no number, the quantity is 1).
Once all files are uploaded, in the “Project Notes” section copy and paste the following: The Ray Gun Project sent me! Please match all colors and quantities to the standard RGMKI - Prop Replica**
Click on all “Accept Risk” boxes
Click “SUBMIT FOR MANUAL RFQ”
When the quote is finalized and you have the option to purchase, use code: RAYGUN at checkout to get the best price possible.
* This same process can be used for any 3D printed project you may have, including the Wunderwaffe DG-2 or my other props.
** If you would like to have a custom color scheme, or include extra parts like more Cold Cells, include those customizations in the Project Notes section and replace the copy and pasted message I provided.
If you have any troubles during the process, send an email to contact@autotiv.com they are familiar with the project and are ready to help.
3D PRINTER SETTINGS
Having trouble 3D printing the parts for your build? Trial and error, my friend! Try different orientations. Every part I design is optimized for 3D printing with little-to-no support material. Try to find the best orientation that requires the least supports and you should be fine. I usually use 3 walls/outer shells and 5-6 bottom and top layers for best strength and quality. 15-20% infill is usually plenty.
TROUBLESHOOTING ISSUES WITH ELECTRONICS
Having trouble with the electronics for your Ray Gun build? It’s probably your soldering technique or the hall effect sensor. Here are videos that might help.

Hall Effect Sensor: • How to Use a Hall Effe...
If you’re having trouble with your electronic components not working as intended and it’s not your soldering technique that’s the issue, please go directly to the Adafruit support forum for assistance. Please give them as much detail as you possibly can about the issue, including pictures, so they can be effective in assisting you.

SELLING RAY GUNS
Want to sell ray gun replicas to your friends or on your Etsy page?! GO FOR IT! My only requirement is that you use your own images of YOUR work to promote whatever it is that you’re selling. Using my images is misleading and not a good way to go about your business.
Thanks again for your support and best of luck with everything!
All the best,
Andrew Lamson
