Most people just don't have the money to buy a totally different wardrobe every year, so yeah, many still wear the same things that were "popular" or "common" maybe 5-10 years ago. Trends are made so that people follow them and buy more and more things they might not necessarily need in the first place.
one bag i am seeing EVERYWHERE across a range of age groups as well is the uniqlo shoulder bag. it appeals to a range of ppl because of its style and functionality, being able to hold quite a lot and also its about £15 so quite cheap
That's so interesting to hear your perspective! I live in the Netherlands and actually you do see most of these trends irl, especially in the bigger/younger cities. But it's a mix of both, really, of the newer trends and the older ones you mentioned. I was shocked with what you said about skirts, so many people wear skirts here! Hard to imagine it not being worn. Capris and see through (on the bottom half) is something I have not seen that much of yet, but all the others 100%, and not even just by the die hard fashion people, but pretty normal people, too.
Same in Iceland they do have the online trending stuff but in more Iceland friendly like low rise are really much here but like also in flísbuxur (don’t know what’s that in English, it’s like thick pants) and more stuff but many layers are common here but also like thick clothes that show your figure idk how to explain it cus we have the Icelandic clothes and party clothes/summer clothes cus we all know gotta look good even know it’s -15 💅 just at a úlpa and your fine. But it’s really actually complicated cus we have many different styles but most us look the same when it’s cold. Black and lil white. I could go on and on so I’m gonna stop now. Edit: check out 66°north you will see what most of have at least one thing of. Also really recommend if you live in a cold place get the úlpa like skiing úlpa it’s the best. Úlpa means puffy jacket but I’m not calling it that cus it’s dumb.
I live in Saint-Petersburg (Russia) and people here are actually wearing most of online trends in real life. But mostly you can see this at nightclubs, restaurants and other fancy places in the centre of the city. You immidiately can tell who has the pinterest board 😉But this never been the majority of people of course.
Love the video! As a teen from a medium sized city in england, i do see most of these in real life, i definitely also see people wearing more 'normal' clothes but the more 'chronically online' type of fashion i do see often (mostly on young people as my city is a big univercity city, which may play a part) but i definitely think it depends on location as i dont think id see the same in englands small towns or villages!
It was so interesting to hear this point of view ! I live in Paris, and I actually see most of the trends online irl, at a point where it sometimes feels forced - when you see mesh top mixed with motor boots and a trendy bag too. Here, I do see almost everyone (I saw a comment pointing it out) the small crossbody bag from UNIQLO is EVERYWHERE, and everybody owns one. I also see loads of sambas, dr martens, and all different kind of specific trends that you'll never expect to see in person, such as cottagecore or very witchy outfits that were popular around 2020 on tiktok. It is honestly so fun to see how much people can be experimenting with their styles. However, it is not a majority that has this "trendy" style, and it depends on the neighbourhood. Around the center, since it is a very touristic area, people get out more and have more fun styling crazy clothes or "out of the norm" ones !
This is so interesting!! Paris does seem like a very fashionable city, it’s one of those places where almost everyone seems to be into fashion. It was my favorite city fashion wise out of the ones that I visited in 2022. And yes people have pointed out UNIQLO a lot, I don’t see it a lot online but it does seem to be super popular IRL (in the bigger cities ofc)
This comment, yes! I live in Berlin and do see a lot of the trends but also sometimes feel they are forced. Sometimes you can see that an outfit is copied. For example how everyone owning the exact same blue adidas shorts combines them with boots and a y2k bag. Per se, I like the style but these blue adidas shorts repeatedly make it seem like they all bought them straight after scrolling through pinterest.
I often see something trendy at pinterest or instagram and like it, think it looks good but when I actually see someone wear it in real life I often cringe internally because of how different or out of place it looks when took out from perfectly crafted photos on social media. For example the insane amount of charms on bags. It would be so annoying to walk around with so much shit attached to your bag, the noise it would make with every step, having it get stuck on things, especially if you use public transport. Literal nightmare irl but looks somehow good on pictures
ohh! I experience something similar but quite opposite, sometimes I wear an outfit and I love how it looks in real life, but when i try to photograph it or make a video it looks weird
I'm am a cronically online Turkish girl living in Germany. whenever I wear something trending online in real life, everyone stares at me. like, they STAAAAREEE at me. not a very nice feeling I must admit :)
The jorts and max jewelry is definitely popular with younger girls (teenage middle and high school). But also they have more time for trends and of course youth!
yeah! specially in big cities like monterrey you can see a lot of variation between what’s trendy and what’s used in the “real life”, going outside of san pedro, you can see a multitude of alternative styles that follow certain online trends. loved ur take on the topic!
we, slavic girlies, like to dress up on every given occasion! even if we go to the nearest grocery store, we keep in mind we have to be neat, clean and look nice (not overdressed though). as for online trends - our teens, especially in big cities, wear them all the time! hard to go in any mall or central street without seeing at least some pieces that is on trend in tiktok rn. girls in their twenties and older prefer timeless basics
great video! I think with the type of jeans it's just a matter of time. most people are not going to get rid of all their jeans overnight. they get one that is wide and low rise, because that is getting more prominent in the stores right now, but still wear what they already have. it will take over, but it is going to take longer time.
thank you!! 💗 and yes for sure, i actually think bootcut jeans have been slowly coming back, i can see them getting more popular soon, it’s a big change from the very wide jeans we’ve been using. I think we’re getting close to the 2007-2010 20 year trend cycle, so it’s going to be interesting to see how people navigate this!
this reminds me of a video i saw of someone talking abt brands like hermes or cartier that gave ppl the "ick" bcs of the oversaturation online but that actually, irl, not everyone is all dressed with hermes bags and love bangles
so true!! only a few people can actually afford a hermès bag, but there’s a lot of oversaturation online for sure, i guess the internet might be the reason why we get tired of trends faster than ever before
@alisonodette exactly, being able to convey things so fast now makes ppl tired and sick of things way faster than usually. but when we go out and see irl ppl, we realise that not everyone is able to afford those luxury things that we also do not need as much as they can suggest
exactly!! it’s a chronically online thing, kind of unavoidable at this point in time because we need the internet for everything, but it’s good to be aware of it!
@alisonodette yes definitely! it can be hard but now that we are able to be more and more informed abt all of this (the differences between online and irl, fast fashion consequences), it makes it easier to keep this mindset in mind
I live in Poland in in of the largest cities and i bearly see any of the online trends on the streat but there are some "uniforms" for people in different age - most of the teenagers are wearing jords or other baggy jeans, very baggy tshirts or crop tops, most of girls my age (24-30) are dressing in clean girl aesthetic, women over 30 are wearing skinny jeans or straight jeans, blazers, tshirts.
I love this, i used to work in a small city just last year and i saw those tiktok trends everyday , nearly all young adults were wearing the clothes , makeup , hairstyle , now that i am in a big city , i honestly never see anybody dressing like this , they probably are some but i dont cross paths with them
I am from latinoamerica , a small city is geographically small, modern , you could walk everywhere, but it was full of people , i worked in sales and i crossed paths with my costumers on the daily , now i live in a big city and i never cross paths with anybody like is so big it takes me two hours to go my work everyday
@@SieMiezekatze oh makes sense! that might be the reason, i use my car most days as well, so i don’t see people as often as I did when I was traveling and walking everywhere
Oh, as a teen I actually used to wear a mesh shirt pretty much everywhere, and I even had a mesh sweater that same year. My classmate also used to wear something like that... I was looking to get something like this again, they are actually very comfortable for summer, at least to my sensory stuff. It's pretty funny for something so niche to become a trend though, I have never seen those outside of me and my classmate wearing that 😅
In Mexico City I do see this trends but only in certain circles of people and neighborhoods (more hipster, artistic, alternative, etc.) but no WAY you see someone wearing the blokette trend lol, I think because mexico being such football culture you will look so crazy in a café on a tuesday looking like you are on your way to the stadium on a Saturday.
In place where I live people are wearing clothes from thrift shops, cheap brands or "no name" brands (whitch a lot of em doesn't exist anymore). I don't see people with expensive things, they also don't like to wear big af "gucci" logo on shirt, but just basics. I'm wearing everything that's comfortable for me. I dont understand a lot of trends cause usually those aren't practical. For example I need pocets in jeans, cause when I go to work I like to "feel" keys inside (that make me feel safe), the same thing I have with high waist pants cause I know that nobody can see my underwear. Even when I go to sort of big city I don't see a lot of people wearing trends, but when they do than they are wearing it in their own way and also what I see is that each of em have their style and I think it's cool btw nice video ^^
thank you! 💗 yes it totally varies depending on where we are. I guess some cities are more prone to trends than others, and I also think there might be some things that are just trending online, and are harder to spot irl for sure!
I love this idea! I live just north of toronto 🍁 we have some fashion people in my city, but it’s mostly leggings and 2010s shorts. I usually stand out for being in styles mostly found online
loved the video! i'm brazilian and agree with all you said. fun fact: i don't think i've ever seen a bag by Binby Lola here, but i do see a lot of bags really similar to the one you showed! i actually have one exactly like that, black with the black and white handle
I guess my city is trendy lol cuz I just saw a woman in a sheer top yesterday. She paired it with stiletto lace up boots. Her friends were with her and were dressed more “normal” 😂
most people in the uk in their 20s and teens wear baggy jeans with everything like, baggy jumpers, tank tops, oversized cardigans, north face puffer coats
Oh hey! number 9 I actually do haha. I have lots of patterned skirts and I love wearing them. But I do feel I stand out when I do, as nobody else is really doing it. Mostly I see jean skirts (either short or long) or plain beige wrap skirts. And here I am. Wearing ones with florals, wrap skirts both short and long, button up skirts, black+fuchsia ones with buttons, straighter ones with tiny polka dots and a floral ruffle at the bottom. I pair them with sandals and with higher boots when it gets colder too. Loving them. If I could I'd wear them every day and never wear jeans ever again
From a Barcelona girl you’re right abt bimba y Lola. I don’t particularly like the brand but on the streets you see many people wearing those bags. And even in school, there is a particular bimba y Lola bag that’s pretty big and many girls use to go to school
loved the video!! im a college going student from mumbai india, and because its a bigger city we do see these trends, but only on genz, older genz and millenials still follow more indian clothing trends than pinterest ones. we have lots of smaller indie clothing labels that make chronically online type clothing because post covid EVERYONE wants to be a fashion person, atleast in mumbai, its rlly fun!
When I’m home from university, I live in a mid-size city in California known for being low-income and older. I get a lot of stares because I tend to dress well even if I go out briefly, many people go out in leggings and pajamas, and friends here ask me why I don’t 😂 But at my university town, people are much more trendy and I feel more at home or even underdressed.
Ohhh i love 90s tv showss!! Obsessed with everything sex & the city, buffy summers, cordelia chase, the nanny, rachel & monica, 90’s style was unmatched
Love this vid!! I went to Malaysia over the summer and remember a lot of girls wearing those long baggy shorts. I also feel like they would make me look like a little boy lol. At my high school I have not seen too many micro trends but I've definitely seen a few.
I live in Spain actually these trends are popular, the jords are everywhere + samba, you can see as well a lot of long skirts in south of Spain when girls go out
Great video! I live in a city that has quite a few universities in the area & have seen quite a bit of online trends appearing in real life. I’m not in college anymore but when I was, I also think esp b/c I was in an art program that I saw a wider range of different trends in outfits. & a significant portion of my particular university were students from wealthier families so they had the means to participate more in staying on-trend. So I think the age (& finances) of a demographic contributes a lot to whether or not you’ll see ppl wearing these things in real life.
oh this is so interesting!! finances do play a great role in how people dress, now that I think about it, it makes sense that countries like mine are not at the top of the trends! of course we can thrift but it’s harder to access things
I know most people hate on skinny jeans but I don't think they'll ever go out of style, they're something that can be worn as Formal or casual in the fashion industry. I can't imagine baggy pants being worn in a formal setting just personally.
i LOOOVE my pair of mary janes and actually had to get a new pair because they were literally ripping 😅 i also wear skirts like 24/7, as often as possible, but then again i already have an alt style.
It’s strange to me I have such a heavy emphasis on long flowy skirts in my style but they’re so hard to find! Like in shops. I’ve made three of mine now and thrifted the rest but they are very far and few in between at the thrift. So strange would’ve never thought
bimba y lola is super popular in portugal too! But generally i would agree, yes. I live in lisbon and while i do see alot of trendy people every day, it's rather rare to spot someone wearing one of the pieces you mentioned!
I used to live in Dallas, Texas area in the US but my family and I moved to the Midwest a couple of years ago. I would have never said that what we wore in Texas was the most trendy because I lived in the suburbs, rather than the more wealthy inner city part but I never realized how trendy and chronicly online everyone I knew dressed. Clothes weren't really for functionality as they are in the Midwest, and it was normal to have larger wardrobe sizes for not only styling but also for the hot/humid days where you change multiple times a day. Women would wear skirts and dresses, unlike in the Midwest everyone wears athleisure or denim 2010's shorts. The only people in the Midwest who wear anything you see with online trends are usually teenagers and college kids, and typically when they're going out with friends or to an event. I just tell myself that I have investment pieces for the next ten years until the trends catch up 😂 I do miss getting dressed up though, if you wear anything other than the standard jeans and a t-shirt in dark neutral colors or athleisure then people will STARE at you. They'll be nice but you'll definitely notice and feel out of place.
The hot and humid weather part is so real! I have to change multiple times a day as well 😩 it’s awful, and just use athleisure for the gym and take it off right by after bcs it’s too hot, so similar to Texas! If you’re super into fashion it might be depressing to live somewhere where people are not really into it! It happens to me too, I feel like I can’t dress up like I want to because it’s too hot and no one else does it, i live my fashion dreams vicariously through making this videos
I personally love the trend of transparent clothing and wear out in the real world and have seen many other people wearing it as well in every day circumstances (I don’t live in or near a big city) I just think it’s really fun and allows for a lot of layering opportunities. It’s also handy in the summer when it’s scorching hot out.
I'm a skinny jean girl too. I'm doin capris this season. I'm high waist. i do sheer tops under dresses & vests. i will be stacking it. I wear skirts & dresses to church. i love moto boots. I'm in Australia but will be passing on the rest of the trends,
I see this fashion influencer I like decluttering her wardrobe, and lots of her piece that looks impractical she kept it for making styling video. I'm so glad she's so transparent about it because sometimes when I see pinterest picture with model wearing layer over layered clothes I always wonder how impractical that style to day to day basis
i think most young people in the UK wear molly mae sort of clothes; neutrals & athleisurewear. though in uni cities it’s different and jorts are EVERYWHERE
I've used mesh shirts and also have seen other people use them, but I'm in college and that's where I've seen/used them. Buuut to be fair, I've never seen mesh or like transparent skirts, so yeah.
Here in Paris, so many girls are wearing jorts-it’s something I really noticed this summer, and it's still a thing this fall. Outside of Paris, I haven’t seen it anywhere. Also, I work in fashion, and even though most of these trends are really happening here, the designers actually dress pretty simple-just jeans, tshirt, and some cool shoes. It’s kind of reassuring to know that Instagram isn’t real life, and even people working in fashion don’t always follow the trends!!
I go to middle school near Washington DC and I do see some people wearing jorts or following the blowkette aesthetic. I’m guessing since teens have more time than adults most our time is on social media. So I guess that makes it for a lot of people to follow quicker trends.
i live in france and there are a lot of trends that we see in real life! for example jorts, or long skirts for example, these are things that are often worn here.
Owning 5 different style black skirts has given me a plethora of outfits. You can go from soft and chic to grunge and rocker in seconds switching the tops :)
I live in a big city that is often referred to as the New York of Europe. I've seen jorts and the football shirts but other than that nothing else seems to appear in real life
As a college student in LA, my daily life is full of online trends, and none of my peers wear skinny jeans. It feels like following the fashion rules most youth agree on puts you into the trendy world (like no skinny jeans, no shirts tied in the front, all low waisted, minimal cute makeup, AirPods)
I'm in early 40's and live in a small UK coastal town. I wear a lot of these trends you say you've never seen in real life. I love to layer with sheer pieces. I collect and wear full sheer tulle skirts. I layer dresses and skirts over jeans, trousers all the time also over Adidas trousers with kitten heel pointed shoes or boots. I only wear 100% cotton jeans straight and wide leg. I also wear mens baggy wide leg jorts. I wear layers and layers of sterling silver bangles, rings and necklaces with pendants. Everybody else here are all still living in leggings, track bottoms, skinny jeans. It's so boring. I actually receive comments quite often saying it's nice to see someone wearing something different and unique. I also get looked up and down a lot and looks of disgust. But I love the way I dress it makes me happy. I don't think not seeing anyone else or "in real life" should stop you if you want to try these looks and trends. Who knows you may find you love it.
oh i love that!! you sound like you have an eye for putting things together 💗 maybe my words got twisted! i do wear some of this trends and i love them, i just recently thrifted some bootcut jeans that i plan to wear a lot during the fall! usually during the summer months i live in slip on dresses and skirts because it gets too hot to even think about wearing a pair of jeans! I think it all comes down to having different climates! I would love to live somewhere colder because I think fashion is more fun when it’s not hot! This video is just pointing out the difference between what i see people wearing in real life in México, and online fashion! I would agree everything is more basic irl as well!
I'm from Mexico too, but in Tijuana I notice two types of trendy people, those who buy at malls, known boutiques and Inditex type stores so ive seen some trends but also people that thrift and mix and match with store bought clothing, that's when I see most of these trends worn, here I haven't seen bimbo y Lola that much, but yes a lot of coach, Kate spade, prada, pandora bracelets ñ And if people don't try to follow trends it looks more casual: jeans, Nikes, a jacket...
yess!! inditex is such a big thing in México, we literally have no easy access to other stores it’s crazy! I do that for sure! I thrift and match with what I have bought before, thought I’ve been thrifting more. Interesting on no bimba y lola! Tijuana might have more of an american influence given it’s so close to the US
I’m from Zurich, Switzerland and the style here at the moment is trendy but also very businesslike and classy. Naturally if you look at girls who don’t work in office jobs you’ll see very baggy pants and often worn with athletic jackets. Not my fave style but they rock it well!
Hey! I live in France and what you said is so true: no-one wears those trends. Sometimes I do and I feel like an alien as no-one does ever wear any of these 😭😭 Even worse, I was looking to get new trousers and everyone wears either (super)skinny, straight here. it is such a struggle to find wide leg ou flare bottoms from some brands here!! Anyway, love your video 🥰😊
man i hate the blokette aesthetic so much, noone wears it, noone wants it, everyone is frustrated that you cant get a normal t shirt litteraly anywhere because shops are selling only those ugly cropped shirt with a random print shitted on it and the companies dont care because they think thats what people are wearing. ITS SO FRUSTRATING
In Portugal Bimba Y Lola is very popular. There’s even a really specific group of girls who wear it, they tend to fit in the clean girl aesthetic, but I believe they’re called “Cayetanas” in Spain
@@alisonodette I guess it´s gotten so big to the point people wear it everywhere... I also watched Elite, but their style is so outdated rn.. 😂 Hey, I´ve got an idea! You should do a video on the most stylish tv shows / movies! I love getting inspiration from those :)
I live in the US in a big southern city and most people dress “normal” in my area, but there’s a range based on age, location, and ESPECIALLY wealth. I see 2020-22 online trends that finally made it to real life, but mostly casual practical clothes like athleisure, think the 2019 vsco girl look. When someone “dresses up” or has a more costumey aesthetic in the suburbs it stands out. But if you go downtown or to a rich area you see more of the online trends and old money ppl decked out in brand names. It was kinda funny to me when the NY fashion girlies started wearing cowboy boots (I, in Texas, always avoided them bc I thought they were too goofy and country lol)
So interesting! So cowboy boots are mostly worn in Texas by people who actually need them right? Not so much as a fashion accessory? I used to go all the time when I was younger and I remember seeing them mostly in the countryside
As a teen from Portugal that is currently studying arts I actually see a lot of these trends at my school but outside my school I don't see them as much so maybe everyone there is chronically online😭
I live in London, and I actually haven't seen a lot of people in skinny jeans, with maybe the exception of waiters/waitresses in black skinny jeans (myself included but thats not really a fashion choice its more just a work uniform). I have however seen a fair amount of teenagers (generally on the younger end so like 14-16) in the super wide jeans, that being said I feel like a lot of people wear 'regular' jeans i.e: jeans which are neither super skinny nor super wide and which most of the time you can get pretty cheap in M&S, the ones which you know aren't actually denim but are mixed with something else that makes them sort of stretchy. I have actually seen skirts over trousers, though that was when I was at art school so I'm not sure if that counts given people at Art school are also likely to be into fashion and have pinterest boards, though not everyone ofc. I used to have a friend that wore mesh, however it was generally like a long sleeved mesh shirt under a t-shirt rather than a mesh/see-through skirt. I have however seen a fair amount of people wearing little ribbon bows in their hair. I don't think I've ever seen the 'Blokette' thing in real life but then again I think sometimes it depends who you're hanging out with, because I saw plenty of more out there trends we normally associate with being online whilst I was at Art school and I feel like there are probably some people out there who do genuinely dress in the 'Blokette' style.
I live in Warsaw, Poland. Here, especially in the city center, you can see a lot of people dressing in fashionable and original ways. You can spot TikTok trends and Pinterest aesthetics everywhere, really. However, I get the feeling that the farther you go from the center, the more 'ordinary' everyday outfits become. And what's funny, living on an estate gives you an impression that everyone is dressing comfy (shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirts etc.) and has only the one pair of shoes: flip-flops xD
In the town I live in I do see a lot of long knee-length skirts or short floral skirts, and the tote bag tøte never really the bag brands you mentioned, but that's probably because I live in the Netherlands
Hi Raleigh, NC here. I see some online trends here designer bags, designer summer wear, but jorts are not for here. Girls still 2010’s shorts. Most places seem to use trends that work for the area and ditch the rest to watch online. If it is ridiculous hot outside then you will be wearing stuff to survive the heat. I really enjoyed how you did this.
I live near a university and see versions of these trends but they're always much more toned down. This week I've seen a few girls wearing blokette core, but it's more like they have paired the sports jersey with jeans or jean shorts rather than a skirt and bows. Over summer boxer shorts were definitely trending though! I will say, the small bun and aggressively slick hair is EVERYWHERE and I can't wait for it to be over. I think it's quite unflattering and harsh on a lot of people.
Your observations were so good! I am from Germany and it’s pretty much the same here. Except for bags, I have never heard of the brand you showed thats popular in Latin America and Spain :‘D Younger people here wear a lot of small shoulder bags.
if you go to london you find that a lot of people actually do wear these social media trends irl but when i go to a smaller city in italy for example the trends are very much what people were wearing on social media in 2018
yess! it does take a while for trends to catch up in smaller cities. I’ve noticed london is superrr trendy, never been there but for what i’ve heard/seen
I actually just wear what I find cute. I've worn a short dress over jorts for my friend's bday and that was cute! Some of these trends are totally unpractical tho, I'd never wear something see-through unless I had something fun for underneath.
hungarian here! i live in like a medium sized city, and i don't really go out, but i see a lot of different people in school. i noticed a lot of wide leg jeans, university sweaters, and maxi dresses worn to school. some teenagers also tend to dress more classy (surprisingly, very conservative, lots of knitted sweaters, fitting long sleeves and pants, which i don't really know the name of, but it looks like you are going to an office 9-5). though i am happy to see people with a personal style, for example, i often see grunge/alt people on my way home, more than i expect from a city which is mostly filled with 30-50 yrs olds ppl with no knowledge in fashion (i don't think the rest of hungarians are this fancy like the ppl in my school lmao idk what has gotten into them)
I think these trends are for places with low temperature. Weather effects a lot of these trends. Where I live is so humid and hot so we don't have any options but to wear only clothes made of cotton. I really want to follow some of these trends sometimes but when I look at the weather I change my mind. 😅
Here in Italy I've seen people wearing online trands, but mostly we got like local trends that are inspired by Pinterest or what we see online. For example you can see a lot of girls wearing cowboy boots for disco, that is probably bc it was seen on the internet first. Generally tho where I'm from at least they all dress similar to the other or with their own specific style. 😊
En españa ahora son más los bolsos zadig y bastante básicos. Los deByL quizas lo llevan gente más adulta. A los jorts y el tiro bajo hay bastante también 😅
I live in Southern California and go to uni and EVERYONEEE is on all the online trends u brought up and way moreeeeee so i think culture has a lot to do with it
Nah, it depends where you live. Im currently between countries, for example in Russia people are VERY up to trends, people are wearing jorts, capris and so on with no issue, very wide pants are leaving the scene, but overall the "chronically online" is literally what you get if you look around campuses. However, in Egypt people are wearing flared skinny jeans and other things, obv religion plays into it, hijabs being the thing, but yeah, here its less about the revealing trends, crop tops are nearly nonexistent, so are shorts of any sort.
At my school all anyone wears is sweatpants and if you where anything different then you get called emo I wear mini skirts and bell bottoms and knee high boots I have lots of vintage clothing and I'm big on layering but this has always been my style people know me as the "weird girl" or the "fashion girl" people either love or HATE the way I dress it has led to lots of Stereo types and Bullying
Skirts over pants do exist outside of the typical fashion industry! Some women from the Peruvian Andes wear skirts over some kind of legging, like pants; that has been the traditional outfit for years. Whether they are in fashion or not a lot would wear it. It is because it is very cold. I’ve seen them wearing it with boots and layered cardigans.
I was born in 97, ive been alive when low waist was trending in the 2000 and it was horrible, high wait is much flattering and depending on your body type skinny or wide jeans may look better. I look awful in wide jeans
