Madrid's second half performance was unreal which is typical madrid. Ancelotti said to vini at half time, "We only need to score 1 goal for the rest of the goals to come afterwards." Best match of the season by a mile.
@@wizinho_ it’s horrible tactics why would the Dortmund manager play a 5 at the back in the second half who changes formation mid game they should have kept playing the same way since it was working for them so well
@Dalisu87 even when he was missing those sitters, I believed he would become the best player in the world. He reminded me of young Cristiano, when he was at United and missing sitters. Then one day it all clicked and all the misses became goals. But he already was 9/10 in everything else, so once the goals came, he became a football god.
Actually it's a Bellingham problem, his defensive performance is quite lacking. Jude, Fede and meni, need to sort out the midfield responsibilities and how to handle the transitions, Modric won't be there forever. As for the defence, right side is weak as expected it's Vasquez. When will Madrid finally sign a replacement for RB 🤷
@@enockbanda4009 yeah, bellingham play more as a number 10. I think Rodrygo need to go for the bench and bring tchouameni or Camavinga to the start team
This may be the greatest end to a game that could’ve ever happened for Madrid, not only does it win a close game by scoring 3 goals at the end. But it gives Vini, Mbappe, Rodrygo confidence going forward which can attack Barcelonas weakness which is defense. I do think the the defense needs to be better but if Courtois isn’t playing like Courtois in El Clasico, it may be 5-5 😭
@@Oscar-nd4kg Did I not point out both teams weakness in defense? Not too mention all though I take the point of view of a Madrid fan I’m a Barcelona fan
@@Ryjxz bro the difference is real madrid has very weak defence by default while barca literally forces themselves to play high-line so there's a clear difference, which shows barca already has counter plans to tackle their high line..
Those 2 goals conceded was all via Vazquez defense abilities and trying dribble out the back , Madrid gonna need figure out a way of helping Vazquez during el Classico or he’s gonna get exposed on that side .
2:11 bro, Shut up right there!! Come back was because of Mbappe’s cross and Rudriger’s header! If you will listen to Carlo half time speech, that you will hear that” if we score one goal, we are in the game” Second goal was also because of Mbappé as he got tackled, it fall on Vinnie’s foot so don’t sell that bro!!!
so u didnt saw the goal right??? mbappe didnt cross the ball to vini, he was to shoot the ball on goal, a dortmund player played with a slide tackle the ball to vini
@@valentinocarratta4413 bro great analysis! I agree with you, if that player didn’t slide, that would have been a Mbappe goal! He scored outside of the box last game, it was easy for him.
@@valentinocarratta4413 what are you talking about, you are the one who clearly didn't watch the game. It was a mbappe cross not a shot. A cross from mbappe and Rudiger headed it into the net. Open your eyes and pay attention.
Mbappe dragged a defender with him for Vini's second goal too. I don't get why people pit our players against each other, they're clearly working as a team to win. All these internal comparisons feel forced and unnecessary
Dortmund screwed up by taking out Gittens, who was the one creating chances the most going forward, for a defender in the 50th min. Whenever any team just tries to sit back and defend a lead it almost always backfires. The next goal after halftime was the decider who was going to win. If Dortmund scored then Madrid would've been done. But they got the early goal in the second half and the rest is history
Was looking for this comment. Anyone who knows football would agree that making that subtitution changed the game completely. If Dortmund stayed with the formation they had in the first half and had fast outlets up top throughout, they likely would have won this game. I called it as soon as the sub was made, that they would regret that decision. I dont know why teams still do this, as you say it very rarely works, especially from that early in a game.
"Give me the ball" merchants are a rare breed that got even rarer as of late. Ronaldinho was one, Kaka was one, Messi in the latter stages of his career became one, Cristiano Ronaldo is probably the most obvious example of one. Vinicius Junior is a "give me the ball" merchant. Just give him the ball and he'll cook. He picks it up 30 yards away from his own goal after Bellingham wins it and proceeds to go past the entire Dortmund defense and put it in the back of the net from outside the box. Then not even 10 minutes later, he gets it in a very average position, dribbles past 2 guys, weak foot finish at the near post. Kylian Mbappe (except for 1 month every 4 years) is not a "give me the ball" merchant. Vini is the only one currently in today's game. It looks like Yamal might be turning into one though.
I want Mbappe and Valverde to demand balls a lot more often now. At least with their presence. This is not because they've been lacking; no, they've been brilliant. But they'll be unstoppable once they assume responsibility when the need arises. Valverde has a lot of potential to compose tempo and read games, and I'm happy to see him being more central these days.
Wdym ”can turn into one someday” yamal been just that this whole season this is the first game vini has played like this whole season? Do u even watch the game?
@@robertmarginean164 and I agree. Vini is the only "Let him cook" type of player left in football now. Others try, but they're not as good as him or aren't as consistent as him. He's been like this for the past 3 seasons now. The scary part is, he's not even entered his peak years yet, those are yet to come.
@@Chip_Fuse Mbappe and Valverde cant do what Vinicius does.... the first requiryment for these ''give me the ball'' merchants is: DRIBBLING MACHINES. Mbappé cant dribble like Vinicius, let alone make mad runs one after another while shifting directions like a madman... Mbappe is all about verticality and shooting prowess, and he have good pass-and-go type of plays.
As good as vini was in the 2nd half, lets not down play the involvement of Mbappe, Jude and Rodrigo in the goals he scored. Once the pieces figure it out, its lights out for Europe.
Skillz, Dortmund WENT on the defense. They were simply outplayed and outclassed on the second half. They only had 2 chances and it was because Madrid was playing with pretty much only Militao and Mendy on the back. Sahin took out his righr winger and brought in a center back in the 55th min and then brought in Can and a fresh RB. Ancelotti got it wrong the first half and got it right the second half. Football is very simple. Over analyzing it is pointless because we end up falling in subjectivity instead of being 100% fair
We play incredible in the second half . Jude Bellingham my god man is everywhere with Fede . Defense is the problem unlike last season. I love Lucas Vazquez ( if you insult him, go and watch other teams ) he’s not a rb he never was but he was good enough to play as a backup rb ( not as the one and only rb we have ) . We have to sign a rb in the January
In terms of looks if vini was even 80% of how Bellingham is the media people would have would have Praised him and would have compared him to legends and he would have had the most number of fans and no one would have hated him.....this is fr the truth.....we love you Vini 🤍🤍
Skillz, dude, it was actually Mbappé who gave the assist to Rüdiger and Vini for the Madrid comeback, with his awesome positioning Dortmund defenders gone mad and created them chances for Madrid to be leveled up again.
One thing I don't get is people saying: "Well, if it wasn't for Vinicius..." Why do you think Florentino signed Vinicius??? Why do you think Real Madrid have the best players? It's for days like this!!!
2:40 bvb went more defensive ?! Sahin switched to 5 in the back total disaster of over coaching. So idk what you saying they didn’t play defensive when they literally did even changed their formation to be more defensive
I’m 26 and I’ve been watching Madrid all my life . If you disrespect Carlo Ancelotti you know nothing about football. He has done miracles for this football club , He has never spent the money other managers spent ( 2B Pep ) . He worked what they gave him . He won us La Decima . Last season no other manager in the world would have won the things we won . 3 ACLs , played with only 2 Cbs all year . Lost The best keeper itw . Lost the ballon dor winner and signed no one ( My goat Joselu love him until my last day on earth ) Now this season we have only 2 cbs and one backup rb ( who actually is a rw )
I been watching every real madrid games this season and yes, ancelotti been experimenting a lot with the tactics, it's simply frustrating to watch every single game like it's not a proper team-play yet and yet again. if only we can do every game like this 2nd half. Well, slowly but surely i guess, let them cook.
If Madrid plays all the time like in the 2nd half, 2 things would happen, 1st, all players should be tired and couldn't play the whole game. 2nd, they would win 10-0 instead of 5-2.
@@alfredodistefanolaulhe2212 true that could happen pretty badly especially with lots of games this season. Probably in big games like UCL or derby is more suitable.
Aa9Skillz , its not Mbappe who is making it harder for madrid, its absence of kroos that is making hard for us to play. We are getting burned or transitions, and we cant break the first line of press when we have the ball . We are unable to switch from left flank to right . This is what ALL KROOS. Kroos was press resistant , he was really good at dictating the tempo of the game and we all remember his ball distribution
I don’t think many people understand that Madrid basically didn’t have any preparation during summer bc of how many players they had missed due to copa and euros It seems like that Ancelotti has figured out the midfield and offense but the defense needs work If they play like second half every game then they are winning against every team bc that was simply unstoppable
"Madrid basically didn't have any preparation during summer bc of how many players they had missed due to Copa and Euros" By your logic, other teams should be in the same situation. That's such a cheap excuse.
If you watched the second half and thought it was only individual performances then you are wrong. Carlo changed how we approached the game in the second half with Vini trying more shots and most of the attackers running at BVB defence unlike in the first half. The players even said Carlo told them that if they get one goal back, they will end up winning. Bvb did nit help matters by trying to defend for the rest of the game
This game is what the last champions league final would have looked like if bvb scored the first 😂 two chances they had…..like this if you feel the same way ….Real Madrid the come back kings of Europe 🙌🏾
What are you talking about? We bought Vini and the rest of the stars because of their individual quality. Players who can make the difference on their own. Mbappe will do it, so will Rodrigo and even Endrick. They will all have the opportunity to make the difference as individuals. Thats what RM is known for. I'm surprised you have a podcast on RM but haven't realized that.
You’re trippen this win was because also of Ancelotti Having that break and talking to them definitely brought them back to life Where tf was everyone up during first half? Almost everyone was NOT giving their best. Those 2 goals were not because of bad tactical decisions, it was because of bad defending & positioning from the midfield and not trying.
Bro what tactics did madrid have throughout the game lol. We were just going with the flow and suddenly got spooked in the 2nd half. First half no pressing nothing
Did you watch Ancelotti's pre-match and post-match interviews? He already addressed the concerns you mentioned. He said it's not about the system. It's about the attitude and intensity.
2:18 did you watch the game skills😂 dortmund switch to a 5 back and went defensive at the 54th minute. That’s literally the reason they lost. As soon as they went defensive Madrid smelled blood and attacked😂. Bad take there
Skillz 100% agreed with you on Ancelloti. It is the heart, the passion for the jersey that carries this team in games now. They don’t follow the plan of the coach because I believe the coach himself doesn’t have a plan to make all those play football together on a pitch
Just because Madrid don't follow a rigid system like Pep, doesn't mean they don't have a strategy/plan. Carlo is tactical when the team needs that type of manager.
Watch your mouth. Mbappe was playing w Madrid too many years and now vini got even better. Mbappe doesn’t fit the team it’s obvious that if he can’t adapt to a st role he could be replaced. Sure he’s good and can get g/a but that doesn’t mean he’s the best fit. Get some ball iq.
If you have followed Ancelotti for a while you sure knows he builds his teams with individual brilliance. He doesn't impose his tactics on players devoid of their free will to play according to their abilities. That's why he's the best Manager both on and off the pitch.
Disagree. Modric in 2nd half controlled midfield tempo and Camavinga used his magic to create space for Vini and the wingers to press accordingly. Militao stopped some key passes inside the box and Rudiger pulled weight in the downstretch. Vini overshadows everyone because of the sole posession of his goals, but they controlled the tempo from the firs sub at halftime from borussia.
Carlo went with a dynamic mid, choosing possession, omitting Tchou. One thing I liked about Carlo is most managers two goals down will make subs, but real come out with the exact same team. Carlo probably told his team to be more direct and it worked. My issue with real is totally different. Mbappe doesn't know it, but he is so dangerous when he plays a striker, not CF not LF but ST. He just need to stick to it consistently.
That's his position. Bellingham was bought to replace kroos, not Benzema. Look at the positions he played for Dortmund. He played the false 9 role because Madrid had no striker and kroos was still in the team.
2:18 Actually Dortmund went more defensive. Jamie Gittens (midfielder) was replaced by Waldemar Anton (defender) in 55th minute. Dortmund went from back 4 to back 5. They did what you're telling they should've done and still lost. Regardless Madrid showed their true (yet unfulfilled) potential in the second half.
This was a Dortmund masterclass bottling. I don't remember a Dortmund side killing the game off ever. The subs were horrendous. Vinicius was cooking, but after taking Reinier off and then not going on to score more goals but trying to play 10-man defense for 45 minutes is just dumb.
It was the copa final skillz for that bale goal was legendary. We also already knew that it was going to take a while to figure out the starting lineup if Kroos hadn’t retired you would have been so much easier to find midfield balance.
I think one way of looking at Madrid is, are they getting the most out of their talent and capability? I think most of us think no they aren’t. That doesn’t mean they’re bad or whatever. But there is significant expectation with all that talent up front imo.
Mbappe first taste of Remontada. Mbappe Watching from sidelines as Vini scored a hat trick. He’s a competitor and will work harder now. This isn’t PSG where you throw fits on the pitch or complain to football director. Carlo may not get it right most games but whatever he did at halftime they came out looking ready to murder BVB 09 and that’s doing his job. Barca plays Bayern. Can’t wait. This is one of those weeks where they lose 2 in a row and we win 2 in a row and everything changes.
There is no hat trick without Mbappe, he’s at the origin of the first goal and would have scored the second one if the defender didn’t decide to do a dumb tackle that put the ball in the feet of vini.
Vini really was amazing. Ballon dor for sure. I agree with you about Mbappe, he's amazing but Madrid probably could have used the money they spent on him on some decent replacements for Kroos/Modric/Carvajal.
I totally agree with your analysis. our second half is something out of a dream for a football fan and an absolute nightmare for the opposition. Vini Jr. has stepped into that realm of insanity. I wouldn't blame our defense so much, yes they have been a liability so far, but let's not forget that we don't have that one guy anymore,(Toni) who used to sit deep between our center backs, he wasn't just good at passing and directing our tempo, his vision and knowledge allowed him to kill a lot of counters. I'm hoping Camavinga can turn into that guy.
Individual play saved them last year as well with Bellingham last minute goals. They needed a half like this to show them potential. They don’t have a consistent starting lineup and that’s the issue
Skillz been telling you, Madrid wins when it matters. Toni Kroos said don't talk as if we didn't struggle with him in, that's why we sign the best players we need the brilliance
this is the thing Skillz isn’t understanding (lack of ball knowledge) Real Madrids style…RIGHT NOW…is play football…it’s not, Tiki taka, it’s not park the bus, it’s not anything, it’s simply go out to the pitch and PLAY THE GAME…one way or another they win can you really be mad at them for Winning??? think of it like this and never speak of it again…when you play 5,8, or even 11 a side with your friends…you don’t set tactics…you go out and play with your friends for fun…sometimes you’ll have individual performances and sometimes you’ll have team performances…as for defense…again we’re not Atleti we could care less as long as we win…why do you think we’re most likely signing Davies and Trent?? two fullbacks that are more attacking then defensive and everyone knows it…there’s a reason🤷🏿♂️🥱 THATS our identity
He didn’t just assist Rüdiger for the come back, he would have scored the second goal if the dumb defender didn’t decide to do a tackle toward vini He played well in that game
Skills I've always loved opinions about everything but saying that real only won today because of individual performance is crazy. As for me the team played as a whole today, especially in the second half. We were aggressive, controlling and played with the ball beautiful. Real played a great game today and it's a collective effort.
It's funny how Madrid winning is individual brilliance but being exposed or coinciding chances is on don carlo. You also mentioned constant change in formation & playing eleven but you didn't mentioned the reason why carlo had to rotate so much-injuries. Doesn't injuries or unavailability of players affect a team or it's Madrid so won't even mention injuries.
What you said in your previous video was right. It's only those who don't understand football will critises you..... I am a card bearing member of madrid and I totally believe in your analysis. We always lack intensity and pressing
Icl even though we won, that entire game our right side was missing. I don’t know why Vasquez wasn’t tracking back in time, leaving us with 3 cbs. Also rodrygo was on the left side with vini countless times. We wasn’t pressing enough, and gave them too much space for their 2 goals. That first half got everyone stressing, but second half was great. Mbappe was misplacing many passes, but he got an assist in the end. Vini is simply the best player in the world, he will be there to collect his balondor on the 28th. I hope Carlo can win Barcelona, cuz if he doesn’t it’s looking long for him. A por la 16.
