@@DoctorDisney A lot of the characters have puns in their names- some of the named erythrocytes are hexcodes for the color of their hair: her senior is named AA5100, which produces the same shade used for her hair, same for the protagonist AE3803. The Neutrophil have similar gags hidden in their numbers. The primary focused one's number is read digit by digit, meaning U1146 is read as 1, 1, 4, 6, rather than eleven forty-six or something like that, so "i-i-shi-ro" The pun being that sounds like "good white". His companion U-4989 would be said as Shi-Ku-Ha-Ku, a pun for "shikuhakku" "having a hard time" consistent with his comical misfortune like almost falling into an open scrape wound.

This show’s genre is actually Comedy, which is why it’s over the top and goofy About the rbc being bad at directions or wanting to meet the neutrophil again it’s just to add characterization to her to make her interesting as a character, it’s not supposed to be realistic in that aspect ^^;;
@gtf234
@gtf234 5 лет назад
Yeah it's nothing beyond a conceit that a story like this needs persistent characters to function- like how we keep seeing the same Macrophage or B-Cell, or the same Platelet squad everywhere even though with this scale it would be bizarre. U1146 does however observe how unlikely it is for him and AE3808 to keep running into each other as often as they do though. A contrivance for the sake of developing them as specific and unique characters- like how 1146 and his current squad are from the same marrow, as is the 'named' Eosinophil, Basophil, and AE3803.

It never shows the host. I have some theories based on the evidence presented through out the manga and show. Without spoiling too much, the stuff that happens makes me think the host is male, an adult, and might be a person who travels a lot. Illnesses and other conditions that come up seem like he's definitely active.

The only remotely unusual one he gets is Dengue Fever, putting aside how quickly it is defeated. While not rampant in Japan like it is in Southeast Asia, they did have an outbreak a few years before that chapter was written. Said outbreak was pretty major news- less from the quantity of victims and more because the last time they had one was 70 years ago. It was mainly assessed as coming in from Japanese tourists coming back from mainland Southeast Asia, who then spread it to local mosquitoes; which basically how the Host got it- bitten by an infected mosquito. The threat has been looming over them ever since and more than a few pharmaceutical companies have upped investment in vaccine research for it as well as pesticide development to combat mosquitoes in Malaysia. Anisakis is not unusual for him to catch locally- any place with a raw food culture is prone to them- the rate of infection in Japan skyrocketed as sushi and sashimi became more readily available, including the ease of being able to make it yourself at home. They get a few thousand cases each year- comparatively not a large number but it doesn't raise the question of "How the hell could you have gotten that?" like 80% of House's cases are. Meanwhile in South America the primary carrier of them into humans is ceviche. All the same, they're relatively speaking not a big deal in of themselves- they are not equipped for a human GI and can't bore through the linings. They inevitably die on their own because of that; thus any complications (such as bowel obstructions) that result from their infection is ironically caused by the immune response to them rather than damage they are doing themselves.

No the Host is not depicted, though it's very safe to assume it's a Japanese male. The main series operates under the presumption the Host is an ordinary, healthy individual, not somebody who is immunocompromised. Most of these infections are framed as the millions of little unwanted guests you pick up every day but get killed before outward symptoms would develop like how the threat in this episode results in little more than a sneeze from the perspective of the host. This includes nastier things like Dengue Fever, putting aside that dengue hemorrhagic fever is a rare complication not the norm like 90% of comments on this series want to believe it is. Only a few incidents in the main series have resulted in requiring outside intervention to deal with. A spinoff by a different author and artist however is set in a much less healthier host. Cells at Work: BLACK frames living and working in that body as akin to working a black company, a term referring to companies that regularly overwork and abuse their employees; that being said, it is implied the BLACK host works in a black company himself.
@WhiteKoneko
@WhiteKoneko 5 лет назад
If you go back to White-san's words he states the immune system is compromised, and thus, is weaker then it normally is. This probably means the body just got over a recent illness or infection and is recovering(Maybe a cold/flu or something). Which explains why the WBC Squad are stretched fin as they deal with all the other germs that got in. But you are correct there were two incidents in the anime were doctors were required: bad case of heatstroke and the shock.
@gtf234
@gtf234 5 лет назад
@@WhiteKoneko "Cedar Pollen" pollen also needed outside assistance from a steroid; "Heatstroke" was basically resolved with a garlic injection. The only emergency so far in the main series was in "Hypovolemic Shock" parts I and II. All the other issues are resolved internally, the vaccination for Mumps featured in a flashback during "Acquired Immunity" aside. A lot of their problems are ultimately resolvable with enough blackmail photos from Dendritic Cell.

@@huntress01 It's just the remaining chapters from the main series. BLACK is not getting animated right now. Honestly, a lot of BLACK is not exactly broadcastable as is without some pretty heavy censoring or rewriting- you can can't seriously expect them to just animate an entire platoon of granulocytes being quite literally tentacle-raped to death as if this was something out of a Rance game. That's not even getting into multiple instances of suicide. You'd end up with the same problems Goblin Slayer had, complete with all the English otaku throwing another annoying tantrum (putting aside they always only compare to the manga and ignore how sanitized that is compared to the original novels).

The general cells that are ya specifically identified represent the cells making up the various structures in the body as well as the body itself (which is why the personifications ‘live’ in apartment buildings that are ‘fixed’ in certain places and formations) actually, a lot of these extra details are included in the manga version of this anime (NOT the code black but this actual anime’s corresponding manga). Like the mangaka actually goes into a lot of detail when planning how the environment is drawn and how each item represents something or another in a body or cell or organ or whatever! For example, the jackets on the red blood cells are reversible with lighter and darker sides that switch around depending on if they’re carrying oxygen or carbon dioxide and the interior of an ‘apartment’ is also drawn to show how it represents a generic cell’s structure!

I sugest you to take a look at the cartoon:"Il était une fois... la Vie". It's almost the same, but in a cartoon rather than anime style. It came out many years prior Cells At Works and it's not focused entirely on the blood. The first episode shows how a cell works, the last episode shows how badly things work in a very old body (anticorps don't have the force to beat the germs anymore, neuron's messengers bump into each other and then they forget where they were going).

From what happens elsewhere in the series, I theorize the body belongs to a female child! There's one spinoff that takes place in another body that is incredibly likely to be male, considering it has an entire episode about erections, and the neutrophils in that spinoff are only women, so if the neutrophils in the main series are male, chances are the body is the other gender. About the body being a child, I was checking out how the memory cell in later episodes acts, and he also seems to have no clue what's going on, much like a young child's body would, who hasn't been exposed to as many pathogens as an adult would. ~And one more point which involves spoilers from the final episode, so don't read past this part if you're wary of that kind of stuff!~ The body suffers from hypovolemic shock due to a head wound, which doesn't happen all that often in adults without near immediate death (eg, gunshot or stabbing), so I theorize that what happened was that the body, presumably a young child, fell off of some playground equipment and landed on her head.
@WhiteKoneko
@WhiteKoneko 5 лет назад
Or even had a moment of stupidity and didn't wear her helmet while cycling or riding her skateboard. Or even a really bad accident. But I agree the body our MC exists in is probably female and by some info I'd say maybe preteen to late teens as the body clearly developed but still growing? By the stuff that happens I can guess the girl often goes outside(probably enjoys hiking and camping, ect.), loves sea food, has a pollen allergy, and maybe is a bit reckless or is a bit clumsy?

Hey there! I noticed you had to reupload because of copyright issues. I just had the same issue with this same reaction video. I’m a little confused because doctor mike and doctor hopes sick notes both have done a reaction to the same show and they seem to be fine. Because technically we are under “fair use” because we are making an educational video and adding value to it. I’m just wondering how you went about it and if re-uploading it even helped. Because they found my video within the first 12 hours and took it down and I would hate to get another copyright strike.
@DoctorDisney
@DoctorDisney 4 года назад
Hey DocRempel! Thanks for asking - I totally understand the frustration of where you are coming from. Glad to help! What I did was I disputed the copyright and stated why it caught errantly by RU-vid’s bot service and asked that the claim be removed. This then gives the claimant 30 days to respond. They did not respond and RU-vid put the video back up. Funny story, I forgot I even submitted the claim and one day noticed my views going and was so confused to find they were coming from this video bc I completely forgot I even made it. Best wishes to you! Unsure how Dr Hope/Mike do it, I just assume they have teams of help and advisement. (: you got this!
@DoctorRempel
@DoctorRempel 4 года назад
Doctor Disney wow that’s awesome and really encouraging! I was feeling really stressed because the video took me so long to edit and I saw you had the same issue and you took two months to edit! So I knew I had to ask you and I’m so glad I did! Your response was so helpful and I appreciate it more than you know 😊 thanks doc! And I discovered your channel through this 👍🏼 I’m also a huge Disney fan 😄 have you ever been on the Disney cruise? General audience probably won't appreciate this as well as you do, but I think some stuff are related to like high school biology classes, so that is still really cool. The nice thing is that youtubers like you and Dr Hope with professional knowledge are helping us to appreciate the show's intricate details better with these reaction videos! It is as if the show got turned into an educational documentary series :)

The citizens in the white shirts and black hair represent the individual that the other cells inhabit. Also, red blood cell is a sickle cell, which explains why she constantly gets lost in the body.
@kevinblack8222
@kevinblack8222 5 лет назад
Its just a theory. Its not confirmed. If she was, the white blood cells would need to kill her as immediately as possible due to the defect.
@KapitanWasTaken
@KapitanWasTaken 5 лет назад
It's more probable that she's just a stereotype of an airhead due her ahoge (single lock of hair sticking out from the top of the head, it is most often used to identify foolish, bumbling or carefree characters).
@88michaelandersen
@88michaelandersen 5 лет назад
@@KapitanWasTaken Yeah, she is supposed to be an airhead stereotype, and the reason for that is it allows the other characters to explain the medical stuff to her, so that the audience can be taught the medical stuff.
@gtf234
@gtf234 5 лет назад
Merely an edgy theory that the material itself does not support. Her lack of sense of direction is not comparable to the sickle cells' inability to smoothly fit through blood vessels. AE3803 is repeatedly shown squishing herself through narrow alleys (previously labelled as representing capillaries) to make deliveries, she does not have problems doing this. She also excelled during a period of low oxygen pressure during "Hypovolemic Shock", which is the environment that induces the sickling to begin with- she should have been struggling to function worse than everyone else were she intended to be a sickle cell. Sickle Cells can't carry as much oxygen as a healthy cell, AE3803's regularly shown carrying as much as any of her peers, even more than them during "Hypovolemic Shock"- again, not consistent with the concept of her being a sickle cell. There's also the fact that Sickle Cell is a genetic disorder that is nearly nonexistent in Southeast Asia, especially Japan, and let's not kid ourselves, the host body of the main series is Japanese- their heart is depicted as Sensou-ji after all.
@ZevolveZ
@ZevolveZ 5 лет назад
One of the main reasons she doesn't have sickle cell anemia is mostly because there is only one of them. Its genetic its impossible to have a single sickle cell, its either many or none.

"The "AE" on her hat refers to her being hemoglobin E trait, a mild form of anemia caused by a genetic mutation. This explains her "airhead" personality as she's less efficient than other (AA/normal) RBCs at gas transport." Another possibility is that AE3803 is hexcode for a shade of red.
