As someone who watches the news and have seen these audio issues happen from time to time, I never think anything negative or judge the reporter. You’re human. Don’t be so hard on yourself. We love you!
we don't need to avoid talking politics with people we disagree with. we just need to learn how to have civil conversations. if we stop talking all together then we won't be able to understand or educate ourselves on the opposing side's opinion. they might have information that can change your perspective on things... but if we are close minded and defensive about our beliefs then we will never come to a common understanding.
But some people don’t want to have discussions with open minds and aren’t willing to have civil conversations which is why sometimes it’s not worth your energy.
Certain political topics are ok to avoid (economy for example) and other issues can’t be avoided. For example, we can’t disagree on racism and still be friends. (Yes I know racism shouldn’t be political but this year it is)
I think political views are definitely heightened during this time as a lot is happening in the USA . I think conversation is important and necessary but it does have to be with mutual respect/consent or it can end up pointless.
I've ended relationships because of politics. As a Black person, I can't shy away from politics. I've debated about BLM, voting, healthcare, education, etc. For the past 12 years (2008 to 2020) I have had to separate myself from people who say ALM and those who are Trump supporters. I even started attending another church. Sad but 🤷🏿♀️
The fact that you had to change churches because of people’s political affiliations shows just how closed minded you are. You can’t even be around the presence of someone whose opinion differs from your own? Especially at a church, where you’re supposed to honor God and His love? That’s disgusting. I feel sorry for you.
Perfectly-imperfect if she wants to change churches because she doesnt agree with trump supporters then she can do that. If she feels she doesnt wanna be around that negativity that comes with that she can do that. When it comes to certain political views, its okay to disagree on them. But when it comes to things like BLACK LIVES MATTER its not political. Its just human rights. And supporting trump means you support his views of racism, homophobia and much more. So if she doesnt wanna be around that, she doesn’t have to. Its not disgusting.❤️
You should add animals in there with the hot car deaths. People don’t get it and the poor children and pets. Even though this is old already did news. lol.
I'm actually the opposite from you Clancy! I shower at night. It's super relaxing and when I get out it signals that I can chill out now. Plus its always awesome getting into a clean bed when you are all clean too (bonus if I shaved my legs).
My boyfriend is a news photographer for a station in Corpus Christi so its always fun to hear how his day goes and then hear about your day in Cincinnati lol you're awesome keep it up!!!

I completely understand the brother w/opposing political views issue. My brother also served in the military for six years & I have a pretty good guess as to the type of discussion you had. The funny thing is my mom said exactly the same thing & I follow the "no speaking about politics" rule 98% of the time & when I don't, all hell breaks loose. The great part of being brother & sister is you can pick up where you were before the phone call. With notable exceptions, sibling relationships last forever. It's weird how some states are doing the masking in public thing county by county & some are trying to do it as a state-wide mandate. Missoula county in Montana just passed a mandate because our cases are going through the roof due to tourist season. People in Montana definitely get angry, but in the end, they comply. Businesses will get some hefty fines if they have customers w/o masks, so it remains to be seen how this gets enforced.
Easier said than done, but don't stress out on those uncontrollable events Clancy! You work really hard, so don't be too harsh on yourself. You are nailing it!

Did you refer to the USA as „rest of the world“? 😅 cause me over here in Germany does sadly not have a holiday on July 4th 😂 Kinda shocking to me that most Americans really think like that 😅
Such a true point about not discussing it when neither side is going to change their mind. One of my really good friends in high school had the COMPLETE opposite views as me from every stand point. What we did was expressed each side and didn’t bring it up again after.
It happens on every news station, and no one blames the newscaster. We just laugh and think about how crazy these people are who try to get on tv. I think I can guess your views vs. your brother's based on his being in the military and his ignorance.
Literally just got done watching your victoria secret video bc my first day is tomorrow and it was funny bc you said you started the summer before sophomore year and same lol. then, you told the story about the man who said you were going places so I checked your youtube page to see where you were now since that video was from three years ago. low and behold YOURE A NEWS REPORTER! I’m literally studying to be a reporter as well so just seeing you is so reassuring. I just subscribed :)

My brother and I have different political views as well and we just don't talk about it. Everyone is so sure that their side is the right side, you truly can't convince anyone to think differently. I appreciate you mentioning this because I am sure there are many "divided" families out there!

This is really interesting to see from this point of view - in my job I have to work with the local or national news reporters when they want to interview the organization for whatever story. So I do get to do some of the behind the scenes, helping the reporters get the information they need and sometimes doing the interview as a spokes person. And I had a reporter reach out right before the holiday at 5:00pm LOL! We made it work though.

I too HAVE to shower every morning it's the only way I wake up. Random question, you said you take 2 showers per day, do you also put make up on twice per day? Just curious. And do you do the entire routine or something a bit less since you're not having to be full camera ready?
I’m so opposite showers make me sleepy, I shower before bed and it makes me sleepy. My boyfriend is like you he can’t start a day without a shower. But for me even when I was a kid and my mom would make me shower before school I would be sooo sleepy all day
Hell yeah! Don't regret your argument with your brother. Sometimes family members like to voice their opinion and if you disagree, you just tend to not say anything out of respect and to avoid fighting. But I don't know, that sort of gives them more momentum to bring it up more or feel they have THE opinion on something. So you just gotta remind them sometimes like, "hey, I hear you, but that doesn't mean I agree with you and here's why!"
About your comment on your Local 12 anchors - I watched a noon newscast of your station through a Roku app where you can watch newscasts from all over the country. I noticed that the meteorologist was Brad Maushart who was on a station in Indianapolis before. Good to see he is doing well.

Hello!!! I work at a restaurant at sky harbor airport. I also have to be at work by 3am I get out at 1pm. I also work on holidays. A bit worst I work on the weekends. I’m always the boring one from the family cause I go to bed super early and never want to do much 😖😖
Can I just say your posts are wonderful it takes me to places I hadn't been before;Twenty years plus I took it upon myself to look after my nephew who was bipolar,he wouldnt even come out of the house:now he has a full time job,though it gets a little hairy when we ask him to take his pills each month because one side of the family thinks he doesnt need them.Seven years ago I started to look after my mum who had dementia,each day was the same,I didnt mind as she was my mum,a year before she died her dementia became something that was horrible;She wouldnt eat,we had to give her little baby bottles of Complan but we could tell she was not with us.I stayed with her for seventeen days in the hospital,feeding her until she sadly passed away in my arms.Six months later I developed Epilesy but im still caring for my nephew.Please carry on,you make such wonderful posts,it takes me away from here for a few minutes each week.With Love Ian xxx

“I know most of you are waking up at 5 or 6?” me: WHAT. LOL my body naturally wakes up before 10 on Saturdays, so I can watch Clancy’s new video. But, I could wake up anytime between 9-10:30am. I actually love Clancy so much, this comment wasn’t meant to be offensive in any way, if you thought of it that way. I watched every single one of her videos from eyeshadow tutorials to this video. Clancy is my idol. But- waking up before 6?!?
It’s so weird, I wake up really early for a run everyday and when I’m alone I wake up when my alarm goes off but when I’m with a boyfriend or someone else, I always wake up a minute or two before it goes off.
On the topic of "off limit topics, NO one is allowed to talk about religion and politics in my home. Not for holidays, not for coffee, not during a game of cards. That can be a phone discussion, but again, when it comes to family, off limits completely. It' s not worth the argument, and as you said, no one is going to change their minds. (friends I will allow a healthy debate- key word being healthy meaning you can bring something up, or to my attention, we can discuss it, but I shut that ish down really quick if there is any form of an argumentative tone.)
I think there are certain times that you don’t have to talk about Politics but if someone’s behavior is problematic or beliefs are problematic it’s important to call them out on things they say I.e if something is a micro-aggression but it’s important to explain why it is wrong to say.
Maybe I misunderstood you but hot car deaths and drownings are not comparable to eachother at all. Leaving your child in a car is being actively negligent, while drowning happens in seconds and is more understandable as to how it could have occurred.
I have a friend who always tries to talk politics, and he’s extremely conservative. Usually I just try to move away from the topic or if we’re in a group I try to slip away silently lol
I think we should try to have the conversation. I dont think conservatives or liberals are inherently bad. We are all people and I think the point should be drawn if people question basic human rights but other than that points gotta be made
Live shots are so rough to do lately. :/ My station hasn’t really had reporters go live out in the field in several weeks, especially in front of/near a protest. Crews in my state/market have been swarmed or had their vehicle set on fire! I felt really bad when I saw the tears in your eyes when you were trying to continue to vlog. I’ve been there, as a producer, when a show just totally spins out of control despite my best efforts. Not a good feeling, but the viewers forget way faster.
