last time papa ne 2018-19 ke around 2000 k notes nikala tha , aur fir Maisel kahin koi 2000 rupee ka note nhi dekha , 2 mahine phele ek 48,000 ka payment tha mere grandfather ko , unpe UPI nhi hai , unko yeh paise cash mai mile jinme ek bhi 2000 ka note nhi tha , sab 500 k the aur mai baith k ginta raha 1 ghante tak 💀

Before demonetisation ink, security strips were imported from various countries which made our Indian notes vulnerable to fake currency nexus but now all the material required for currency printing is locally acquired. Also Pakistan economic growth slowed drastically just year after demonetisation that gives a hint who got hurt the most.

If making the exchange process faster was the purpose then(in 2016), why exchanging money digitally was not considered? that would have been more transparent and less tiring process for everyone. Also It would have motivated the digitization further (upi n all) I don't understand why we are not ready to accept something as a failure and learn from it to improve upon the next time.

Main reason was to reduce the pressure on printing machines. 1 2000 note is equivalent to 4 500 notes. Since 80% of the currency was wiped out, a lot of new money needed go be printed. Also, saying "use digital money" is easy rn, but most people preferred cash at that time.

it was not considered because our digital infrastructure wasn't strong and jio was also launched in that year too, you just can't ask people to do 3 big changes at once and how many people would even use UPI at that time? Your suggestion is bad. And things aren't just black and white that you can say it was a failure. Alot of black money and terrorism money was captured and many common people suffered too, so yeah its not either complete success or complete failure.

Situation different h because 85% ki jagah sirf 10% notes replace hone h aur upi ki vajah se log exchange ki jagah sirf deposit krna bhi zyada consider krege iss baar, to unhe saare notes bhi new note se replace nhi krne padege. Lastly RBI ne bola tha ki unhone advance me 500 k notes bna kr rkhe h to make it better than last time. Overall baat ye hi ki vo background me saalo se 2000 ko 500 se replace kr hi rhe h, note print krne k liye unhe time zyada mill gaya h as a result.
