Its called an emotional moment, many movies do it to get the crowd engaged in whats happening on the screen. This movie had a great lead up to this scene, and seeing the Charlie character have restored confidence in himself as well as seeing him and his son connect drove me to cry. I don't see how other couldn't at a moment like this, unless your heart is made of stone.
It is a movie, but the kid actually made the challenge, knowing his bot is smaller but, feeling his bot is the best. It wouldn't happen in real life boxers but, it's always nice to see the underdog come out on top.
"Charlie Kenton's idea to wear down Zeus's power supply by allowing him to repeatedly land blows on Atom was in fact a technique used by real life professional boxer Muhammad Ali. Nicknamed the 'rope-a-dope', Ali utilized the strategy to tire fellow boxer George Foreman, a much stronger opponent than himself, and eventually gain victory. Ali famously angered Foreman with phrases such as "Is that all you got, George?" during the fight, mirrored in the film by Kenton's taunting hand gesture."
Honestly, I think that for the next film, it's gonna be sort of like "Rocky II", start out with a Zeus/Atom rematch, with Zeus tearing Atom to pieces. However, instead of giving up on Atom , Charlie and Max get a little help from Atom's former owner, helping in rebuilding the sparring bot to be able to take even more brutality, increasing his speed and strength, leading to a second rematch, with Atom finally getting the upperhand on Zeus.
What I love about this movie is that in the end, the judges decided that Zeus still won by points, but the crowd definitely disapproved of this decision xD In real life you dont beat the impossible and everything is pay to win, but people can tell when they see honest and hard work. Money is transient. Honor is forever.
3:20 why is Atom shadowing with the wrong arm, shadowing 2 blows with the left opposed to be shadowing with the right, which the controller is hitting with? When before the Atom VS Twin Cities fight, when the kid and Atom are dancing for their "Introduction", Atom shadows the kid perfectly with the exact arm.
Pero Pero If there is going to be a part 2 then I hope that Jackman's character Charlie is more mature and responsible and the kid is less of an annoying brat.
Livingston Hampton after first 20 minutes of movie i was angry jackman was manipulate jerk, he care only for money..... but things get much better when they discover atom , like it was another movie....
