I failed the sleeve I received 10 years ago. I gained back up to 45 BMI. This COVID year I’ve upleveled my life and am currently at 29 BMI. Not budging off this elevator. Mentally, emotionally and intellectually, all systems focused on the outstanding me. Change. Along with 95 lbs I’ve offloaded all debt, excess possessions and all medications. And I’m not stopping. Thank you.

I just got kicked out of a WLS support group cause I called people out on their BS. They wanted to be comforted with a lie instead of hurt with the truth. Saying yeah it's ok if you lick a donut your second day out surgery was not ok with me. I said NO that is not cool you need to get your head straight or this surgery is all for not. I suggested they watch you Doc. The next day I was out of the Cool kids club. I am good with that, I do not want people to coddle me I want the truth!

Best advice ever. It reminded me of a outstanding professor I had while working on my MBA. First day of class he said, "look at the people next to you. If you aren't next to the smart students, you better move." Next class I moved and aced stats with a 100% that semester. Level up is awesome advice.

Get in therapy. I used food to AVOID “feeling” anything. So....surgery 17 years ago. Lost food as my escape....DID lose 130 lbs, but also began smoking, abused prescription drugs, drank alcohol....talking. Talking with a therapist....helped me heal. I don’t mean to be rude....but most obese people are not as happy as they pretend to be. We became obese for a reason. God bless....

Hey dr. Vuong, I just wanted to say I think you’re great. I recently had an endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty and told my surgeon I want to be 60 kilos. He laughed at me! He told me realistically to get to 87 kilos, I’d be malnourished and it was too much weight to lose. Well fuck that - I’m going to be 60 kgs
@carolyngemmell4388
@carolyngemmell4388 10 месяцев назад
Same, my Dr asked me what weight I wanted to be, I said well I use to be 60 kg I think I can be that again….he said oh no we can only get you to 90 kg….I though fuck that, why bother with all that effort if that’s the best I could aim for.

I just found your channel as well, I just met with the surgeon a week ago. He made it sound amazing!! But you are making it sound realistic. I'm wondering if I can do it without the surgery now. Or perhaps learn to eat right first. Everyone I know says it's amazing then I watch them gain it back. I'm 46 330lb 5'6" addicted to everything Ive ever touched. Sleep apnea and Type 2 this year. I'm a trucker and I just had my first grandchild. I've been looking at all of this wrong. All I've wanted for years is to lose weight to continue all of my bad behavior which will guarantee an early grave. All of a sudden I've realized what I really want is to have a longer life, 70,80,90 I'm not picky, just not 47,48,49 or 50 which I'm guessing right now is a fifty fifty shot. My insurance says I have to diet for 6 months to qualify for surgery, I've been dieting since I was 14. I don't want to diet anymore I want to learn how to eat right.

I had sleeve surgery in July 2015. It is now 2021 & I have regained everything.......Part of the good part in the beginning was the loss of gherlin ......You have little or no desire to eat. It was great......Slowly, your appetite slowly comes back after 2.5 to 3 years. After a while, you are fully healed internally and the gherlin goes back to normal & EVEN WORSE. I feel like this surgery was a total waste of my time & efforts. I was in the "Excellent category. I went back to my surgeon to discuss my frustrations and she just shrugged her shoulders & said, "Well, sometimes sleeves just don't work. You need a bypass"........Her nonchalant "Oh, well!" attitude really pissed me off......

True facts. Yes, it's very hard to keep the total weight off 100%. So 7 years out so I keep doing body hacks, decreased sugar, fasting, OMAD, and daily fitness to keep my post menopause close to 60 normal BMI. After many years,yes, old eating returns so set point for your body fat is controlled by insulin and leptin sensitivity, the brain sensor which is determined by the number and functional sensitivity of insulin and leptin receptors throughout your body. As the number and sensitivity of insulin and leptin receptors decreases, body weight set point goes up. Keep on NOT eating like all the other people, fasting often>Jason Fung's way

1. Be outstanding - your mind frame matters. 2. Don’t get off the elevator - stay the course to the end. Follow through. Don’t hang out with people who are complacent. Be more. Get out of your comfort zone. Push!! Don’t give up. Don’t take breaks. That’s what gives you the edge over average. Don’t be derailed. 3. Uplevel your life - it’s not what you believe. It’s what you know. Everything you know got you to where you are. Change what you know. Find excellent or outstanding people. Stop being with average people. Find new ways. Find people who push you to go beyond limits.

You never stopped being outstanding - who you are doesn’t change from gaining or losing weight, only how you perceive yourself. You deserve to be healthy and feel your best, so give yourself the gift of achieving your goal, but please don’t let that be the only way you measure your worth. I doubt you would ever judge someone else based on their BMI, don’t be so harsh to yourself. ❤️❤️❤️

You are gifted, your doing an incredible job tackling 1 of the worlds biggest problems, obesity. You continue to hit the nail on the head with what you're saying, direct, no bull, straight to the point. What you are saying speaks volumes. I used to be a drug addict and using this technique of staying on the elevator kept me clean 10 or so years. Now I have to do the same for my weight. Your videos are truth and in a life full of bs, truth is so refreshing. I said to my mother "it's not surgery on my stomach I need, it's brain surgery I need?" I've had weight loss surgery and I can second what you are saying, fat brain is the problem. I've been stuck at a weight I'm not happy with for years now, time I got back on that elevator.

I was that 5’4” 250 pound gal at surgery! I’m just over 2 years post-op now & am grateful to be at 170, but I’m at the phase of fighting for every loss. It’s not easy, but so worth the effort! Great video, thank you!! 🌷

Hi @@maryouellette2687 wow its good I had notifications on! Amazed anyone commented after all this time! So I have been "doing keto" since 2021 pretty much. I have lost a total of 80 lbs but tend to "get snacky" still and tend to fluctuate up and down between 165 and 175 now (started at 246)...which i am happy with but I just have to keep all the good "keto friendly" snacks out of my house, they are addicting. They can also be higher in fat and no matter how great fat can be, I still have plenty of my own so gotta keep that under control!...also my fav, peanut butter! lol :D So all in all things have been good, fasting helps me as well. I have not seen Dr V show up in my feed in a long time, thought he stopped the videos. I have been watching alot of keto and carnivore docs and people lately...Dr Ken Berry and Neisha, Dr Eric Westman, Indigo Nili, 2 krazy ketoes...they have all helped me alot! Thanks for your comment! ☺

I'm 23 days pre op today. I sleeve up on 11/23/2020.. I'm here bcz someone once told me if you want to be successful you must first surround yourself with successful people.. well Dr V.. you have convinced me with your videos.. and this video especially.. YOU are where I need to be.. here is where I need to be.. I'm willing to do the work.. I'm willing to stay on the elevator.. currently I'm 220.. 102lbs down from my heaviest weight.. but 30lbs more than where I was last year.. and this year I've decided to get help.. my expectations are realistic.. if I can just make it to 150 I'll be happy.. but if I can be outstanding.. if I can just stay the fk on that elevator.. well.. with your inspiration.. with your videos.. with your books.. I think I can do this.. thank the universe I found you ♥️.. I'll keep in touch

I was watching a keto video when I saw this video. I'm 5'4" and I weighed 303 at the time of my gastric bypass in 2002. I lost 175 lbs in 9 months. I walked/ran 4 to 6 miles, 5 days a week, rode my bike, danced etc every week. In 2010 had my thyroid killed off. Major nodules. Gained massive weight quickly. Went back to college full-time and worked at the same time, and I had no time to work out. I recently decided to get back to my healthy weight. I ride my recumbent bike 15 to 30 miles a day and eat mostly protein. I wonder if it's possible to get back to my 130 lb weight. I have a treadmill and total gym too. I'm disgusted with my weight, and I can't live with my unhealthy weight. If I could redo surgery I would, but may not be necessary. Loved the video!

It makes no friggin sense to me that a stomach can be cut down to the size of a banana and 5 years later you can eat a full meal & when I had the surgery I could only eat one or two bites and feel like a mack truck was in my stomach.
