Vocal coach and singing teacher Matt Ramsey reacts to 13 Times Harry Styles Had Me Shook. Master Your Voice Complete Singing Course: ramseyvoice.com/special-offer Find Your Range in 6 Seconds (Free App): rangefinder.ram...
that scream you thought it might be coverage for not being able to hit that high note at that moment is actually part of the song, he's supposed to scream lol
@@kayabuchan2313 it's a cover, the original is by Little Big Town. If you like a bit of country check them out, they've got some really good tracks. "Little white church" is one of my favourites from them.
From this point your channel has become a Harry styles reaction channel 🤣 Harry fans won’t let you move on till your either a super fan, attended his shows, or watched every clip of him on the internet. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it 😂😂
*he’s openly not a fan. you aren’t going to automatically know all the lyrics to music you’ve never listened to. if you don’t like it don’t watch the video, it’s really not that hard.*
julia vaughn rightttt. nobody was talking about it. harry literally sang the words right before he tried to sing it, and he still didn’t get the lyrics right.
Also Harry was actually on the lower range of one direction. When he speaks, his vice is very very deep whereas Niall and Liam were the more middle range and Louis and zany having the higher pitched stuff
Dekayla Pollard it was just something I noted that he speaks very deep. When Louis sings, you can hear his voice is generally quite high pitched for a man whereas whenever Harry sings it is on the lower range for a man. Zayn has a lot of range but management always made him sing those high notes because he could so he never really got to make his lower range shine through all because of management which is why for ONE DIRECTION he never was on the low range. For solo, he might’ve gone down there, but he didn’t for one direction. Also Harry usually had the bridges where it went super low such as the one in WMYB. Niall also similarly to Louis sang quite high pitched for a man, although his voice is more middle ranged and he did have his low range moments, but most of the time Niall was middle to high range.
@@madeleineesteele the point is that: the range you sing in and the tone of your voice don't always match. Louis has more of a high pitched tone with a very bright, almost silvery quality. But the range where he would sing in mainly (in One direction's songs) wasn't the highest. Thanks to his high pitched voice, he was actually able to sing comfortably both in a middle and mixed range. Liam and Zayn were the ones with the most stable falsetto, so they were the ones that would show off the most those very high, airy notes. Both of them can modulate their falsettos to make them sound whispery, delicate and then powerful and punchy, very similar to a mix. Zayn and Harry were the main belters of the group, thanks to their very strong and controlled mix. The first with a great vocal agility that allows him to make all those vocal runs and ad-libs, the latter, very comfortable with his tone, was able to experiment and play with it, thus the emotional impact. Harry and Liam and sometimes even Niall are also able to sing at the bottom of their range comfortably without sounding too strained, so they play like the bass in some songs like Never Enough. Niall in the band would mainly sing in a middle-low range, so I would say that he's the only one that match more his tone with his range, having kinda of a low raspy tone. Coming from all the belty vocals, it can be quite surprising when you hear Zayn, and Harry especially talking. Harry, for example, with his low, monotone voice, he sounds almost like he's purring sometimes when he speaks in one of those intimate radio interviews. Since they're all well-trained singers they're all able to play with their range, so sometimes you would hear some very low or super high notes coming from each one of them, 'cause they CAN do it. But the placement where they sing mainly is the one where they sound the most stable, not always the one that sounds more similar to their speaking voice.
LMAO Harry was not just another one of the bunch. To many, he was the front man because he was the most well known. For me personally, Zayn and Harry are my favs.
Can you do an analysis of his current performances he's been doing for his latest album, Fine Line? He just wrapped up the promo tour for it and did a lot of different performances during it, so it'd be cool to get an analysis of his current voice and singing. Check out the NPR tiny desk concert he did, that was a different one (for him). There's also his Today Show performance, Late Late Show, Howard Stern interview, where he performed a few songs too, his performance of 'Falling' at the Brit Awards Show, BBC Live Lounge, Jingle Bell Ball performance, and other radio performances (SiriusXm and iHeartRadio). They are all on RU-vid on separate videos, just search them up! Thanks for this, I love hearing the more technical aspects of singing and technique
You’re so cool thanks for giving constructive criticism, Harry is amazing, even in his one direction days since 2011. He’s solo and so good now. You can check out his cover of juice by lizzo in the live lounge and the chain by Fleetwood Mac cover by him
The "We" section in sign of the times actually sounds better....if harry opened his mouth a little big....that "we" section would be ruined....he perfectly managed to sing that section best
Lmao when Harry screams in Midnight Memories🤣 hits me every time. Love that song. During that the reactor was like ooo he probably couldn't hit that note... It's a part I the song🤣 he's supposed to scream🤣(and for Carolina, he sounds like that everytime, that's how it's supposed to sound) 😁
Since you're not familiar with his career, it's natural to assume he had to push cuz he has to but in fact those distortions and on the edge sound are his trademark. He's very comfortable using different vocal techniques and is definitely careful with his vocals, at least now, when he's the one who decides how the tours are arranged. 1D was invaluable but sometimes hard experience for them all because they had 4 tours in 5 years, 3 of them were over 6 months long arena/stadium tours. Without top class vocal training and stamina that those boys had they would not just pulled that off. So Harry is used to be performing for about 2 hours daily during half a year. And you can tell that when he feels the voice is tired he just slightly adjusts and sounds a tiny bit "safer" but it's almost unnoticable. Overall he's a very consistent artist.
I don’t want to start a fight/ argument but this guy annoyed me so many times When he got the lyrics wrong, when he spoke about the scream because he couldn’t hit the note (IT WAS THE SONG), like a lot of things just annoyed me I’m very sorry, he just did, I’m not trying to be rude but he really should’ve heard the songs before he said anything because him saying he couldn’t hit the note was annoying and the fact he got the lyrics wrong was annoying too Sorry
@@ramseyvoicestudio I know I just think it's a good idea to maybe do some research first before saying he couldn't reach the notes when he actually did. I don't want to be rude I just think it would be a good idea to help get better judgement on his singing abilities.
Harry has been working with Ron Anderson over the last 4 years to broaden his range and he has expanded it by an octave in his longer and upper registers which is amazing. It’s very apparent in some of the songs on his new album Fine Line where his falsetto and upper register is used often.
It really annoyed me that you thought the scream was him covering up the note. But the scream was part of the song. Also the fact that you know none of the lyrics and say what you think you heard annoyed me.
Thank you sooo much for reacting to him! People don’t know the amount of talent that he has and it makes me so happy to see him getting noticed by others!
when he said the harry was "better at night", that got me triggered because HARRY CAN SING LIKE A GOD AT ANY TIME OF DAY. this guys CLEARY knows nothing about harry styles
I feel like a proud mum when looking at reaction videos to Harry's voice - like I realy feel proud, as if his godlike talent has any connection with me whatsoever
It's more like you don't have to be a vocal coach to have perfect pitch, and you don't have to have perfect pitch to be a vocal coach, or study music theory, or be a professional musician! 🤯
You should definitely watch some of his new songs and performances His voice has improved a lot between the first and the second album. Please react to falling by him or his cover of sledgehammer❤️❤️🤯
8:20 I always realise people don't notice how at the end of the Ohhh he like goes hire in his voice to a whistle sound kind of. It's bc it's not obv on this video, but in carpool kareoke with James Corden you can hear him so clearly and it's such a cool effect
Man the more I watch your reviews the more I am convinced that you are the best reviewer around. Some people dont like you criticizing singers but you are just being honest and its constructive criticism most of the time. It could also be helpful for the singers you are reviewing if they ever watch your reaction. So keep up the good work.
