there's no such thing as "fake" after market is after market. Just because Honda doesn't sell them doesn't make them "fake" If I buy ketchup but it isn't made by heinz that doesn't mean I'm eating "fake" ketchup. just isn't name brand. This is all aftermarket stuff anyways so I don't know what the big deal is.

This is interesting, as when I purchased the front badge for my EP3 here in the UK, it had 3M tape on the back? This was from a Honda dealership near my hometown.

'Phony baloney' or not, the packaging for the counterfeit emblems is actually superior. Foam pads to protect the tabs which could be broken if easily dislodged from simple corrugated cardboard? That's a better approach. Look at the gouge in the cardboard when the emblem is taken off of it. Bubble wrap pouches as opposed to a waxed paper sleeve? I'd call that another wise choice. The 'reflection' argument is a tough sell, because the difference is slight at best.The OEM emblem doesn't render a perfect reflection either. These are plastic parts, not nano-smooth mirrors for an observatory telescope. ; ] I can't see this well enough, even at full-screen resolution, but I'll take your word on what would dissatisfy me in terms of quality, such as the peeling of the chromed plastic, the speckles in the red resin, and the hairline crack running the perimeter. I'm all about being genuine, but I can understand how some people would find knockoffs appealing -- it's all about price. As with many things it's all a matter of perceived value, but realistically, a genuine Honda emblem like this is rather pricey for what it is. However, if you ARE a detail nut, the speckles, flaking, and fairly rapid UV deterioration would piss you off enough to regret not splurging on OEM goods. Still, I'm impressed with the bootleggers' overall attempts -- with the exception of the product codes. Honestly, how do we know that Honda doesn't secretly support a culture of counterfeiting, taking a hefty percentage of profits for itself? ; ] Just because I thought the look of chrome-trimmed red would be cool I bought a pair of old JDM emblems that came off of an '87 CRX. I'm about to put them on my black '95 Civic LX. 28 years old and they're in fantastic shape. Frankly, while it didn't 'break the bank', I paid more than I should have at $35 for the pair -- or did I, for a pretty rare find, even if they're a mere couple of ounces of plastic? Peace!

I did a search for the number on the fake emblem and it turns out its the number for the Key Fob, Haha! I came here because I noticed a lot of fake "original" honda radiator fan switches on eBay. The dead giveaway was the price and they have fake Honda stickers, but these guys actually got the part number right for the fan switch. So frustrating dealing with fakes.

The badge is for one purpose and its to make the car look different, as long it doesn't start peeling than there's nothing wrong with it. I had a BMW badge that was a cheap Chinese knock off. It was only $10 instead of $40. It looked just like the real BMW badge, minus the contours of the letters and ceramic feel of them.

kinda feel embarrassed now that I'm driving with a [fake] emblem that has started to fade away (probably due to sun damage). The real deal emblem are expensive though. Still, better that driving with an ugly emblem in the front.

Where do you get the good stuff. I look online for my 2020 Honda Accord can’t seem to find them only on eBay. Wish there was a website that sold only genuine JDM parts for Honda. When I do find them it’s for civic only no accords

Damn I should have watched this video before ordering the knockoffs on eBay. Advertising said oem jdm and it was in the same packaging as the item on the right side of the video. They look good for being fake but my heart and soul knows they are fakies..let's see how they will hold up...

i got a rep front badge on my FG2 like 2 years ago, thing has been mint since i got it off of ebay, it has a stone chip in it sadly and has now turned into a spider crack :((( but still is mint has lasted 2 years and the finish on it looks like the real one in this video..

I bought the fake crap off of ebay I installed the front one and there was a gap at the bottom once i get my car from the body shop im goin to install the real deal gotta learn the hard way I guess

buying the real honda emblem will make your Honda car too flashy and thief will steal it. For God's sake peoples it just plastic things that have no resale value. You spend all money on customs parts and biggest wheels for car, and cannot afford to buy oem parts for your suspension for safety. lol.

@5:50 That part number would be for the backside cover on a key, the plate you take off to remove the fob and replace the battery.

Just a small update for other some honda emblems do come in bubble wrap. I purchase mine from honda for the S2000 and it comes in a bubble bag. Legit real. quality is like the one in the video on othe cardboard side just in a bubble bag

Wow. I think mine are fake after watching this. They made a really solid attempt at making them look real. They came in thick cellophane packaging, no square outline on the back and a really clear reflection. But the pins on the back have a block of Styrofoam connecting them to protect them, they didn't come on cardboard, and even the packaging label is thick and looks real, but it's red-orange instead of deep red, and the font on the label is the EXACT same font as on the fake label in this video.

I ordered the civic JDM badges for my 2014 civic si sedan and the pins did not match up at all. You will have to break the pins off.... Kinda sad when you pay out the bung for these "real" JDM badges then the pins don't line up... Lol
