@@leonardo_da_g9168lmao. You guys sound like a bunch of crying ass females. He’s not going to do that. He’s supposed to say that as a coach but he’s also supposed to coach. He basically admitted he didn’t after the play in game.
If you think Kerr's will make this decision, then you guys are clueless about the Warriors. This decision to make a move or not to make a move has everything to do what Curry wants.
Yeah and it cant be understated how big of a year he could have next season--he pretty much had this year off, because he was unavailable for a good chunk of this season and when available averaged like 20 minutes/game. He might look fresher next season--at least for the first half. Warriors definitely should consider moving off of him, unless he agrees to resign at a discount, which is unlikely.
No they aren’t. Klay is still better than 95 percent of 3 ball shooters in the league when he plants his feet and isn’t flying left or right. That play in game is on him but it’s on Kerr too. His resurgence coincided with TJD’s rise. Kerr fkd that off when he didn’t play him again.
To be fair on paper the the team is a really complete team minus size, but they’ve shown they could make it work. I really blame Kerr for the absolute garbage rotation and lineup decisions. He understands the team is small, and then he goes and subs in a Gary Chris Steph lineup…with draymond at center to make it worse. It’s just absolutely mind boggling how he looks at that and says “yeah that works” id balance the lineup out by having a lengthy wing defender at all times (Wiggins, moody, kuminga) and putting a more hefty body at the 5 like moody even if he isn’t tall he can bang or trayce
Fam, I dig these moves you mentioned, especially the Issac or Powell one. If it’s not clear to the front office at this point that this team needs a serious change, then it never will be. Steph needs some real help.
I think they couldn’t get value back on Paul on Wiggins this year but I think Paul is gone for sure and possibly Wiggins. Klay can be an elite bench player if they can sign him for 25 million or less.
lol they not trading this man, dudes are attached now. They gonna beg him to take less and give him 2 years. 😂 The FO out here treating players like family. Everyone is irreplaceable after 1 season on the dubs. Alch would I be crazy for saying this, I’m predicting they will pretty much run this shit back.
You not crazy at all bruh. Porzingus was right there in the offseason and they threw it back for CP3. Shot blocking 7footer who could get their own shot and protect the rim. Perfect next to Steph and Draymond. But the front office and kerr had other plans. Getting smaller. 💀
@@calmdownbruh8518 yeah we missed out on so many bigs last summer. Yo I would have taken the risk on Dwight. I would just tell him chill with the diddy shit. We had a ton of quality pieces on the list.
Pascal Siakam could have answered the problem of Warriors to be honest. Mike Dunleavy should have made it possible to trade for Paskal. Retooling the core to be Steph Dray and Paskal Siakam. If Toronto have wish for Wiggins and Moody or and Kuminga they should have pulled that trade in the table. Look at what Paskal Siakam doing for Pacers now??
@@norieltercero9065 kuminga, and dare I say moody, are far more important for the future of the warriors than a expiring contract in pascal. we def should've thought more abt wiggins tho.
😂😂😂. You right. They treat this like a family run business. Get attached to players and don’t want to move them. Even brought gp2 back lol. There going to run it back and miss the playoffs again lol.
Hopefully warriors staff and organization is watching the playoffs and tells them selves roster ain’t it. We gotta improve . One move won’t be enough. We need 3 at least with a true center
The harsh reality is that the warriors are now a middle of the pack team and there's probably no moves that can be made in a single off season to make this team good enough to get to a conference finals in a year. At this point teams with a star at this age tend to be on a harsh decline and just playing it out to collect picks for the future. But, Curry still being this good is a dilemma for them, because he's still good enough to be a starter on a winning roster, but now he just needs more help--and adding that help is a big risk to the future.
@@ohyeahitsthatoneguy don't think so and even if he had the gap would be close, the problem is the warriors roster is full of guards because they think only guards can make threes, meanwhile other teams in the league can play 5 out with big and strong wings/forwards. That said warriors lose in physicality and spacing at the same time, this is the biggest problem of the roster and i really don't know how to solve it
A testament to how good CP3 is can be seen in the fact that there are still so many teams that he makes sense on. When people look back on that suns team, they'll say that the suns should have kept paul and just moved off of Ayton. Another side note, I think CP3 makes a lot of sense on the Lakers, because they struggle to find AD at times and to find consistency in D Russell. Why not move off of him, get some pieces and CP3 in the process--but the warriors don't want russell, so they'd need to involve another team. Russell is a diminishing asset at this point.
TJD would be better served as the backup 4 or 5 playing alongside a stretch-4 or at times with a starting legit 7' BIG. It's time for Loon to be traded.
@@sickvick83 You do know the other teams will also get better bumping golden state down probably somewhere to where they were this season. Which is a play-in level team
We made a lot of improvement on the later part of the season. It only sucked overall because of how they played during the first half (and Kerr not trusing the young guys yet). Personally, I think they need to let Dario and CP3 go this off season, and get another Big to help TJD and Draymond.
@@winghiddenangel They had to sign Chris Paul. It was the only way they could have gotten rid of Poole's bloated contract. What on earth are you talking about?
@@winghiddenangel they replaced a terrible player on a terrible contract with a good point guard off the bench on an expiring deal. Who you can flip for another player or get the cap relief. Upgraded at the back up point guard spot and got off a terrible contract for an expiring or tradable contract. That’s a hell of a deal to me. Poole had terrible trade value
When I was a young kid Kareem came into the league out of UCLA, being drafted by the Bucks. The Bucks quickly traded for Oscar Robertson who was at the very end of a long career to win a chip. Wemby and CP3 looks exactly like that.
@@ct81 I agree but Kareem was four years older. Check back in 3 more years and see where Wemby is. Also Oscar was better than CP3 is but still the comparison is valid.
Great video, Alc. I'd be open to the Warriors getting size like Collins or Isaac, but believe it or not I like what we have in TJD. I'm more interested in the wing positions for this team. We've seen that when you surround Steph with versatile 3 and D wings, the team is successful. Out of Klay, Moody, Wiggins and Kuminga, who do you think is the best SG-SF combination? Or is there someone else out there they could realistically get, either via trade or FA signing? I know it's early, but curious as to your thoughts. Can't wait for this offseason, lots of interesting players will be on the move.
Guys y’all gotta understand no team in the nba is trading assets for 39 year old Chris Paul. What they are trading for is salary relief due to his contract being non guaranteed, so when you are making trades keep in mind cp3 is just salary filler nothing more.
@@AthleticAlchemy I would agree with you if those two teams didn’t have the most projected cap at 30 mil+ out of the whole league. They could simply go out and sign guys like harden, dlo, monk, and tyus without giving up assets. Who would be on cheaper deals than cp3 and are simply better than him. The only way you move cp3 is for bad contract(s) in return.
Wendell Carter Jr. is a realistic option, Orlando is not gonna give up Jonathan Isaac for Chris Paul. I'd say he's out of the conversation in 99% of the offers they receive. Though injury prone, he's that good
Draymond isn’t really a ball handler tho. He’s a facilitator/playmaker in the half court. And old steph and 21 year old podz as the only ball handlers can be a major problem
@@ninerempire3398 It has been a proven fact every chip they won was without a true point guard. Ballhandler Facilitator SAME weather it is at top or side in fact it was until the year they got Wiseman and year after that Green had such big part in handling the ball problem with that you lose a scorer. Every game Green I see him over a Dozen times clear path to rim he has his back turn looking to make the extra pass for that 3, it really has to stop.
@@jensenchun4955 it’s not the same imo. I can’t see draymond taking the ball full court and trying to break a fullcourt press all game in 2024 at this age. Steph had Iggy, Livingston, and an in prime version of dray to do that for him if need be. Even during the last title run, he had poole that could take the ball up court if need be
@@ninerempire3398 Not sure how you came to that conclusion maybe you should be having that conversation with Kerr. Where in my remarks did I say Green should be leading the break. My remarks is Green should have less involvement in leading the offense Including being a point forward whatever they want to call it today!
@@jensenchun4955 all I’m saying is that the warriors always had multiple ball handlers and play makers . If dray doesn’t help steph out with that , you want a 37 year old steph being on ball 100 percent of the time? Sounds like you want the old guy to play 50 games or less. There’s nobody in the game at that age who runs an offense fully by himself . Teams have multiple playmakers in 2024
•Let CP go. Puts you under the cap. •Trade Wiggins/draft pick for Dejounte Murray. •Sign Kelly Olynyk using mid-level exception. •Sign Klay at discount
Players I prefer from 1 prospective Chris Paul trades available as stated in this video: Norman Powell (Stanford alumnus) and Wendell Carter, Jr. 2 free agency: Andre Drummond, Moritz Wagner.
I'm way higher on the Warriors than the comments for next season. But it really depends on Kerr. The minutes need to go to the youth and the older guys need to come off the bench. The offense and defense both have to be tinkered to suit their talents. And we need to flip Wiggins + CP (If we can) for playable assets (not necessarily stars). Curry-Moody-Kuminga-Draymond-Trayce Podz-Klay-GP2-Looney Jakob Poeltl, Clint Capela, Jonathan Isaac, Nick Richards, Sign and trade for Nic Claxton all good targets. Most of which fit Wiggins contract. I'd be willing to pair a 2nd rounder or two with Wiggs for them. Even a 1st maybe for Isaac or Claxton. Also not against picking up a young wing to go along with Moody + Kuminga. Patrick Williams, Jae'sean Tate, Naji Marshall all fit the bill.
Kerr needs to have new plays centered around Kuminga and the other guys. It's becoming too Steph-centric, and you can only ask too much from the Steph.
@@switchbiz My bigger issue is the split action requires Shooters + Elite playmakers. Especially playmakers out of the post. In this case, like you state, it's very Steph centric (and Draymond). We have Moody, Kuminga, and Trayce who are all very athletic. Even running simple pick and roll for them will likely get them more open. Biggest issue being spamming the same actions. I miss the days of the 5 Man Weave game opener, the Elevator Door plays, the Steph-Draymond pick and roll that always resulted in a 4-on-3 roll to the basket from Draymond. These can be replicated with new personnel and the youth we have.
Our team needs more Jaden McDaniels on our team. Our team is just not that versatile, too young AND too old. Not to mention that Steph has definitely declined. He was a top 3 player coming into this season. Now he's borderline T5
More than anything, even an athletic big, dubs need a reliable impact player, as in another closer. The AD to Lebron, the JB to Tatum, the Murray to Jokic, etc... Steph has never been more alone. At one time or another, Klay, Wiggins, and even JP were able to "carry". JK in the future, but a vet is needed effective immediately. Klay/CP contracts expire ~75M. Still not enough room for a max player. Thus, find Wiggins and Draymond (I know but you have to give to get) new homes. Then go after DeRozan. A 2yr max. There's another player that's a pipe dream, but if PG13 opts out, you gotta make your pitch about playing with Steph. Klay is welcome to the mid-level exception, or not.
You can blame having CP3 for being a reason we weren't a contender, but I for one think his greatest impact was giving our rookies a massive jumpstart to their careers with his mentoring.
Chris Paul is so good off the bench he’s one of the reasons warriors bench was so good but I’m tired of the small ball lineup to close games, that one insufferable line up that has Chris Gary and Steph… absolute garbage lineup as far as rebounding and defense goes, and I’m just tired of Kerr not trusting the young guys. Kerr says he does but it’s really easy to say that when you have a HOF pg commanding the bench offense and his true colors start to show when games get real. I’d love for him to stay at GSW but I fear keeping him will entrench Kerr in his detrimental ways
Personally id like to see wemby with Russ CP3 and Tre Jones i think giving wemby as many opritunities to play with different styled PGs would do nothing but benefit his career
Jonathan Isaak is as close as the warriors would get for an OG Augnoby player. Versatile forward who can guard multiple positions. Great help defender, great 1v1 defender and a rim protector. Isaak adds shooting and can roll to the rim.
CP3 for Isaac makes the most sense. But knowing the Warriors GM, we will be disappointed with no moves or non-material changes that won't alter the play-in trajectory of the Dubs.
Sign and trade cp3 to spurs for keldon johnson and then sign and trade klay for Jonathan Isaacs, That'll give up steph/Moody/wiggins/Dray/Isaacs. Bench podz/johnson/kuminga/TJD
Orlando needs a steady point guard and they have assets and cap-room. Klay vs CP3 battle for Orlando's cap room. Wouldn't be shocked if CP3 tries to get to Pelicans to finish career as they also need a steady point guard. But Pelicans aren't trading anyone to get CP3.
Here is the deal: The twolves send KAT to the Warriors for CP3, JK, and a pick. Could you imagine the wolves with CP3 running the point with JK and Antman on the wings??? OMG that would be a fun team to watch. Also, Dubs are done for the next 2 years....
I’d try to flip wiggins for a later first round draft pick(idk if wiggins even gets you that this point) and try to draft one of these young bigs. Like TJD but think he’s a very good back up big/spot starter
Daniels ($5. Million) wouldn't be the best from thay squad. Watched them a bit for the channel but Trey Murphy ($3 Million, Naji Marshall ($1.9 Million) and Herb Jones ($12 Million) even Valanciunas ($15 Million) as a patient big how can pass the ball pretty well. Dyson Daniels hasn't lived up to the hype at all for the Pelicans. Powell would be a pretty decent addition as well. Why do you think Trey off the table, he is only getting about $3 million right now too.
In reality, the warriors don’t have much flexibility at all to make a move. Have ridiculously high priced aging vets, no first round pick this year, and not many players teams want besides steph/JK(why would you trade him?) . This is the price you pay for being a dynasty . It all ends at some point and can’t be rebuilt unless you go in full rebuild mode and trade all the vets
Dubs my initial list to improve - 2025 💍 This list is based on being spend thrift C - Duop Reath C - Rob Will 3 C - Capela C - N Queta C - L Kornet C - Nic Claxton (my favourite) SF - Sam Hauser - shooting
Klay was the barometer of wins and loses this season…not jk… and not Steph… check the game logs! He just along with the whole team(minus Dray) just didn’t show up in the play in game! Steph did not show up… he shot a decent percentage when the Kings had already taken control of the game! We need him to set the tone and all he did turn the ball over and not score until late in the second period. Jk came in being attacked on Dee and dribbling off of his feet! Wiggs played soft from The jump! Klay was in the ozone , and Kerr panicked, not using challenges and time outs ass was being out-coached again by Mike Brown! Careful what we wish Dubs fans!
CP3 is still an elite backup point guard, albeit a bit prone to injury. When healthy, h 3:46 e would fit well enough almost anywhere. I like CP3 on the Spurs. But if the Warriors can keep him on a bargain contract, I'll be pleased. Let's not let Moody go. He should be the starting shooting guard for the Dubs. I like the Powell trade idea. The Clipsters *ought* to like it, too, but they will probably balk. Too bad, it would solve their most glaring weakness.
I hope they trade him to a contender, because if they have the same game-plan as they did this year it’s not gonna make any sense, you can’t have Chris Paul in the lineup and no true big men.
they need to trade and create a great defensive team but its hard to do with klay cant defend now and he will be 30-40m. if klay is back the fans should not expect good team and just watch for nostaligia
Hindsigjt 20/20..i would happily have traded Steph Curry for Wemby during draft day..lol..now we've seen what he can do in NBA competition, even a package of Curry,Klay,Green, Wiggins and hell throw Kuminga too..won't be enough ..
If Chris Paul doesn't care about money like that anymore, him on the sons on the cheap contract would be scary and I would hate that but they can just basketball you know
I think letting go of cp3 to lakers would make lakers in advantage against a warriors because thats what the lakers needed a player that LBJ can trust directing traffic and handling the ball specially on a crucial moment.
I life Keldon, and I love the spurs because we can get picks as well. I don't mind Isaac, but we probably need way more than just a big man to compete again. The problem with the trade fantasy coming from a GSW hardcore fan is that they are still under the 2022 spell and have this mental image of steph klay wiggs and poole running left and right, knocking 3's from everywhere, but the truth is, we just don't have enough firepower and with cp3 gone the bench will regress and we will score ever less , right the warriors is a fastball shooting team that can't run or shoot!
I thought we had all kinds of problems with the new rules? Thought no sign and trades? No packaging multiple players? No buying picks? They missed the window last trade deadline to blow it up and collect assets... pretty sad. Cut CP3. Let Klay walk. Trade Wiggins to Toronto for Brown, team option expiring contract. Could maybe trade Draymond to Detroit for expiring French Evan or young defender Thompson? They'd be in cap heaven! Could trade Curry to 76ers or a team with massive cap and future picks. See what Kuminga, Moody, Podz and TJD can do before locking them up long-term. That's very extreme, but all those are possible.
I don't think Isaac is a fit in the BA. He's anti-vax and heavily pro-Christian. I don't have a problem with that, but it doesn't feel like a culture fit for either side. Collins can bang. He's the best option that I think you've brought to the table.
Popular belief is the Warriors dynasty is ending because of age. I think it’s really been because of bloated contracts. They had trouble singing role players because Paul, Klay, and Draymond made 105 million. If they can cut that number in half with just Draymond and Klay at 25 million they can be a much better team with better role players.
Actually the Warriors can do a sign and trade cuz they are at $174 million cuz Klay's 40M is cleared out. All they need to do is trade Wiggins then they can do sign and trade for CP3.
