Love this! Im actually working on this now, lol! I had a tube of silicone I had used only a little bit from and then noticed the silicone had hardened around the nail I put in the tip (I have since learned, you can cut the tip around that hardened silicone and pull it out, it only really hardens in the tip and its almost like a plug & you can just pull it out...AND instead of putting a nail, just clean the tip off, but first release the pressure from the caulking gun, then take a piece of painters tape, put the tip in the middle and close the tape around the tip and that works better than a nail) and I wanted to use it up and remembered this tutorial. Something I changed and found it easier is that I just used polymer clay for the seeds. I have a ton of small blocks in different colors that I also needed to use up, black being one of those colors and I just used straight black, made a ton of seeds, baked them in 15 min and you dont have to bother with painting them or waiting for them to dry and they look grreat! I also did one side and the side of the watermelon at a time bc I wasnt sure how you propped them up to dry without also squishing the clay rind, bc I didnt wait til the clay dried, lol, it was like 25% dry and didnt want to stand it up and wasnt sure it would even stay on its own. So, I just ended up doing the front and side, then Ill go back and do the back once they dry more....Im just worried I wont get the color to an exact match, esp the first slice bc I only had the color Flamingo for alcohol ink & it just wasnt right, then I added coral, the ONLY other color close to red-ish, lol, then I just grabbed my Gel food coloring and added a SMALL drop & that worked perfect. After that I made 2 smaller slices for Watermelon shake toppers (I cut one of the same round disks in quarters) and just used a few drops of the Flamingo and 1 tiny drop of red gel food coloring and it came out great! Hope this helps anyone else that might try this and doesnt have the alcohol inks (I ordered some from Ali Express or TEMU, but cant remember what one, lol, they just arent here yet...btw Ali Express is an app Ive been using for YEARSSSS now for craft items & its the BEST esp for fake bake supplies! Its the same stuff as they sell on Amazon, youre just going to the direct source & shipping takes about 2-3 wks longer!)
