DUDE, you should have your own show. Your vids are awesome and easy to follow. I used your butterfly patch idea to fix my mom and dad's drywall for free when they were going to pay some guy to patch it for 200 bucks! You rock man, keep the vids coming.
This is the solution I have been looking for! Growing up some 50 years ago my parents had bought plastic panels that looked like brick and I am not sure when they stopped selling / manufacturing it, There was a company that sold something called Z Brick that was too labor intensive and messy. So this is going to work for me in my den..........
I really like how you leave everything up to the viewer as far as different opinions of different ways of doing things. like they say. there's more than one way to skin a cat haha
Hi, Back in the 70s We used a kit called Wonder Brick They also did one kit wish looked like stone it was called wonder stone. All you did was to paint the wall withe base coat it was a mortor colour then you stuck 1/4 wide tape to the wall to make up the pattern then you plastered it all over with brick or stone mix & then you pealed off the tapes, It was very good.
You read my mind, I was watching it done with tape and dry wall mud and was such a hassle and tape too wide to look real, didn't like much, this is great!
Love this idea. I have a fireplace with inside and outside matching my exterior of house--which is slightly dark and not my favorite color scheme. I've thought about trying to "realistically" lighten it--such as when you rubbed the lighter color of gray on your bricks- as the 2nd color added. Should I use any of the base materials such as the plaster? What are your thoughts and the name of the paint. Thank you--this was a great idea and demonstration.
Is this heavy? I wan it to do this on my entire living room wall, but I don't know how I'll hold it in place or if this only works on a small size scale. Any suggestions?
Hi Kristina, Here is a link to another video. In this video I used a 4x6 ft. yard sign and made a large pattern. You can do an entire wall with this method, I did a large portion of my kitchen wall and it looks great. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S1o5VW5H23Q.html If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks! Paul
Good morning, before you tackle your bathroom, you may want to check this video out. I added this brick look on my wall in my kitchen. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks and Good Luck! Paul
Hi Paul, Do you have a video to paint a laminate counter top? If not, you should make one. I've seen a few videos from others, but, your videos are more easy step by step. Thanks!
+Anny Mo Hi Anny, I thought of doing it a couple of times , but I want to make sure it would hold up. I will look into it. Thank you for the input! Paul
You are very attractive, something I just kept noticing as i watched ur video 😋, but this is a really cool idea, thanks for sharing, what did u mix to make the actual bricks? Cement?
Hi gadgetzGirl, Thank you for taking the time to comment! If you have any questions with your projects, please let me know. I will do my best to help. have a good day! Paul
So how would you change this process if you were doing it on a vertical surface, or if we just did it in pieces like you have here, how would you mount it without the screws giving away that it is faux?
Hi Jason, I'm really sorry for getting back to you so late! I just saw your question, sometimes Google will send me a notification and sometimes not. Her is a video that shows how I do this on my wall, I use mortar in a caulking tube for this application. I found it to be easier. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S1o5VW5H23Q.html If you have any questions, please send them through www. +Jaye L hi Jaye L, I used a 20 minute drywall mud . It is also called HOT MUD. You can find it in the drywall section of your local hardware store. It usually comes in 45 min. and 20 min. Some paint supply stores have 5 min. mud, but it does not give you much time because it starts reacting as soon as you add water. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks! Paul
