Situation:
Intel recovered during the operation on 7 August has been deemed actionable by S-2. Devil 1-3 acquired reports on movement orders of PLA in Queensland. Working with translators, S-2 was able to identify a key area that is to be left unmanned for a short period of time. This area, OBJ Orion, is Mount Isa. The area was used to house radar and AA pieces that have since been dealt with by 3/160th SOAR. This area has roads extending both into the NE and NW areas of Queensland.
Mission:
1st PLT, D CO 2/75 RR will move in 2 groups to Mount Isa via MH-60s to the a field on the outskirts of OBJ Orion. Birds will RTB and by that time the field will be secured by the first group, an LZ will be set up and the second group will land. Once both groups are on the deck, they will push separately up the NE and NW roads and set up checkpoints there.
Commander’s Intent:
Capture strategic point, hold the area with minimal casualties, and destroy any PLA equipment at the location.
