War thunder has better graphics and is the successor to the game but the whole thing is a cash grab for the devs so play at your own risk

@@PoopooR war thunder not 「successor」to il2, it is that gaijin did develop birds of prey wich got publish and at one time release as il2 birds of prey by 1c wich is publisher of il2 series and several games aswell.

How did the ww1 germn fighter plane did not explode while diving

Because they are made of mostly wood and canvas. There is only 1 place for it to explode from and that’s the fuel tank. (I’m the fuselage) ww1 aircraft rarely exploded on impact
