I would like to comment saying that I truly do appreciate your video tutorials. I would not even know where to start with Procreate and you give so much insight and inspiration into being creative with these tools. Even though I am copying the steps you provide, I still feel a sense of accomplishment whenever the piece is finished. This is an invaluable way to learn. FYI, folks - About 25:34 BEFORE flipping horizontally, duplicate layer (7). That's how the technique pops Love doing this one, love working with so much contrast! James, I applaud this tutorial for building up and then the decision of scaling back down (ie- lowering opacity). This and the adding in of opposite brightness to blend back color or texture is integral decision making an artist has to decide to do. Great introduction of it! (and much easier to perform digitally than on canvas or paper 😉)

I just got a iPad and procreate a couple months ago. I’ve always loved art and wanted to get back into it. Your videos have really helped me learn the world of digital art. You do amazing work. I’m hoping soon I’ll be able to do some landscape art of local thing in my area

Hey James, I follow your tutorials for a good while now and it's just astonishing what I could take from these videos. Thank you so much for your work! I know this is probably not your style but I would love to see how I could implement some man made objects like a boat or a house in some of the paintings. I still seem to struggle with that for some reason. Keep up the good work!

@@JamesJulier-Artist Because I'm trying to follow your tutorial, I've just realized that one color is wrong in the color palette of the video description : it should be "f8b107" not "8b107". That's not a reproach, just an information so you can correct to have a perfect color palette in the video description as in patreon, if you want now. By the way, I've just had an idea for a future video : I'd really like a tutorial where you'd explain before painting how you established the color palette you're going to use to paint. I say so because I'd like to try a landscape painting based on a picture but I'm not sure of what colors I should take from the picture to create the palette I'm gonna use to paint. I'm wondering if there is a way to be sure to pick the useful colors (not too many but enough) ? That's not an order of course, just a suggestion : I won't be angry with you if you don't want to do that. I'll still enjoy the tutorials 🤣

James I love your stuff and am having a blast. Heads up on your editing, at 10:15 you made a major change to the opacity when you changed colors but did not reference it. I could not figure why thing were not working right until I re-watched a couple of time and saw what had happened. Don't mean to be picky. I know putting these together is hard work.

First, thank you! No matter what I do, the colors look different on my tablet than in your tutorials. I'm using your swatches and not sure why but they are off a lot....my water looks NOTHING like your water in terms of colors...anyone else experience this?
