Ami - made me chuckle when you appeared in the tub! Listen, if I can say this properly -- your niche in this Starch Solution world is that you began by posting what you eat each day and really showing the true life of day to day eating -- yes...even if it's oats and broccoli every single day because, frankly, we all try to make this too difficult. So, while I enjoy your creativity, don't forget that why we love you is because we need the reminder of simple day to day eating and "living." I enjoy seeing you grab an apple while you go play with your kids -- go live your life and we are blessed when we get to see a glimpse. Hope this makes sense.
Some of us really like her creativity.. let her be herself.. let her express herself.. Ideas popping up in her needs to come out . And we're here for it..
I think you do this better than anyone! I think it is because you do exude JOY in your videos. You look joyful when you are with your kids and when you are excited about your food and making something new and yummy! I look forward to your videos!! So thank you!
My homemade coffee creamer that doesn’t curdle is 1 cup oats and 1 Tblsp almond butter, a bit of vanilla, a bit of maple syrup (optional) and a pinch of salt, 500 ml water. Super good!
Love your honest talks!!!!! Keep doing what you’re doing!!!! I am the grandma that Jeremy mentioned to you that my 9 yr grandson Jeramyah & I LOVE watching yours & PB with J channels! Right at this moment, my very picky grandson ate a blended oat meal for dinner! He knows from your videos he’s eating vegan (veggies) but he still loves it because of you & your children eating the same things! ❤❤
Oats - ALWAYS ORGANIC. Not that much more expensive but WAY less GLYPHOSATE/ROUND UP. Protect YOUR HEALTH.. ESPECIALLY when ALL of your calouries comes from plants foods. Staple/most used /everyday foods is very important to be clean as possible from heavy metals/pesticides.
Yes I do like "crazy chats like this"! What you are saying is NOT crazy, it is the most awake, the most sane wisdom I have heard in recent days! What a beautiful video, watching you enjoy your veggies so much, gives me cravings for veggies 🙂 It is so wonderful to see your darling angels in your videos🥰
PS you display such patience when including your kids on your videos. I didn't have kids but when I did involve my nephews or anyone else's kids it was very difficult to have the patience when children want you "help". Or get involved in anything. Knowing that it would slow the process down, or make a massive mess. People that have the patience and the skill to properly instruct anyone at any age to do anything! Has got talent. The one skill I wish I could perfect. You're a very loving mum, and your family should be very proud of you and your accomplishments...
I am right there with you with the resolution to enjoy life more. I’ve come to a point where I’m so structured, so responsible and the joy has been sucked out of my life. Favorite quote I read today: There is far more to life than getting things done. Thank you for inspiring me! Wish I could be your friend IRL 😊
Love the chat! I’m 66 years old and I feel like I spent my entire life searching for that elusive perfect thing that would make everything click, but there is no such thing. Keep being yourself, and enjoy your babies, before you know it they’ll be out of the house! I’m also trying to learn how to eat healthy, and I love your approach and the simplicity of your cooking.
I agree 100% with your life philosophy. Your videos are inspirational and REAL, and hearing your children chatter in the background is the best. They’re beautiful and so are you. Thank you for bringing joy and laughter (and great ideas) to this 72 year old plant based eater in the U.S. who strives to be grateful each and every day. Keep up the good work!
You are so right Ami We are only on this earth for a short time, so really in the end what is the point of life if we aren't happy I love your videos so so much 💖
Mindful eating is my new approach. Sometimes we just eat and dont take the time to appreciate the food for our healthy bodies. Sometimes I think what would it be like to sit and eat with Buddha...silly but I think I would eat mindfully and slower. Allowing the body to digest and appreciate the food made with my hands.
Wow, I came to the same conclusion about the purpose of life is finding joy wherever you can this morning and then watched this video which just reinforced it! To that end I’m trying to be more ‘present’ instead of living on auto while my mind is always somewhere else! It’s taken me 60 years to come to that conclusion, so happy you found it sooner. ❤️. Another great video. Thanks Ami.
Really needed the joy reminder! Ive found myself just being so annoyed with everything around me and i really have no reason to be. Thanks so much for the wise words. ❤️❤️
OMGoodness! I loved to hear of your resolution at the end of your vid. To be honest you displayed a lot of that "on screen!". Meaning on your videos you communicated and involved your family in loving ways and are showing US your real life steps throughout your busy schedule! I can understand behind the scenes snapping at kids or even husband due to stress or feeling anxiety. Or just hangry? I've had the same resolution every year just be happy, congratulate yourself on feeling good physically and mentally. YOU have a lot on your plate to juggle. You are 100% right no one knows what will happen at any stage of our lives. Keep up your amazing energetic, funny entertaining videos. You make me SMILE. Cheers to another successful year ahead. BECAUSE you have succeeded in milestones many people in this world will never reach unfortunately...🎉❤
I absolutely love the crazy chats. Very relatable ❤ all of your content is wonderful and the resonating chats just make them that more wonderful! Thank you.
I heat my soy milk in the microwave with the tiniest pinch ever of bicarbonate of soda before adding it to my freshly ground coffee. No frothing, skin etc
Ami your video 'keeps it real'! so refreshing to see someone as straightforward and uncomplicated about food/life as you! Finding the joy in simple things, is the way to go! Thanks for ALL your insights! love sue xxx
Yes, Ami, I love your chats about your thoughts and feelings. They are very interesting, thoughtful provoking and inspiring. More, please! Of course, I love your “daily eating” content too. ❤❤❤
Totally agree with your concept of taking things out of the bags for easy grab. Closer and less wrapped means easier access to eat. When things are super easy to get, they are more likely to be eaten.
I only drink biscuit tea now, thanks to you👍. It’s so delicious! Love your tips. I need to focus on a meal plan each week. I get caught up with lots of plant based recipes I want to make and get off track, buy too much, stuff goes bad, and I forget where the recipe is🤣. Thanks for all you do and your meal plans❤
My thing also in life is to be the happiest I can be. Happiest looks different to every other person. I like a simple, fun, loving life and many more lovely things. I don’t need to be the most successful or rich but just to have my happiest life. You could do “tub talks” with Ami 😂
I love your resolution. I have had trouble with comparing myself to others, too as there are so many successful McDougallers who seem to be doing it better (aka Chef AJ). I also need to remember to enjoy wherever I am in my personal journey and only compare myself to my personal best. I love hearing your thoughts! It really does help.
Thanks Ami for your posts look forward to watching them. Love your little chats , inspires me to carry on with my health diet. Love watching lovely Abe help you in the kitchen and Romi ,she melts my heart every time, especially when shes singing x Enjoy your day x x
The only time we really have is the present moment, so making an effort to enjoy each moment is important to living a happy and full life. You are correct the steps in the journey are just as important as the final destination. That is something I have to work on as well. Love your videos and your kids are adorable! ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and wisdom. Trying to find joy in every moment and every process we are going through is so true and i needed to hear that. The family and i had a very rough year last year and this year wasnt starting off to a great start either but i wanted to make the best of things and relax and slow down. These words were just what i needed to hear. Your recipes are awesome, but your energy and lively spirit are so motivating that i can't wait to see the next video. Peace and blessings to you and the beautiful family.
Good to see you on RU-vid Ami 😍 I thoroughly enjoy your chats and reflections and I totally agree with you . I want to congratulate you for coming to this realisation at this stage of your life while the kids are so young ; it took me much much longer to actually give myself permission to practice focusing on bringing joy into my life as my primary focus.😀 loved your video and looking forward to the next one xx
Hi Ami, I found that if the milk is really cold and the coffee is really hot thats when the homemade milks curdle. Try pouring a bit of milk in a cup and letting it sit out while making the coffee and let the coffee sit for a minute in your cup before adding the milk. Unless you like scalding coffee your drink will still be hot enough. I've been using hemp milk lately. Nice rich texture. 😋 Hope this was helpful. Good luck. Love to hear if it works.
If you heat up the homemade oat/cashew milk it won’t curdle. I use a little machine that whips and heats my oat/cashew milk every day so that I have a foamy milky topping for my coffee but you can gently heat it in a saucepan stirring it the whole time and then pour it into the coffee. Hope that works for you.
Oh, love to see the grocery hauls, because it gives me a feel of where I should be on product quantity and diversivication. Especially on the fruits and vegetables. Oh, and you're right about celery giving the "salty" taste, as on stalk is approximately 30 mgs of sodium. What a great natural way to get one's salt!
Thank you for your fabulous videos. Love your talk and completely agree with you. Life itself is a gift and to be happier we should enjoy every minute of it. I learn to ask the following questions to train my awareness : what are you doing? why are you doing it ? how are you doing it? They help me understand if I’m hungry or not, already full or not , the taste of food and lots of stuff connected with food and beyond.
Please do a video on vegan hot drinks that a hot, creamy, and yummy! I am becoming vegan and missing my coffee with half n half and missing my creamy hot cocoa and my creamy chia tea!!!! I need your help here!!!! Fyi not coconut oil or coconut milk.
Have you tried the drinks you mention with soya milk? Soya milk is creamier than many other plant milks and is nutritionally very similar to cow's milk. I make a hot choc drink with soya milk heated in a pan, adding some cacao powder to my specific taste (I use cacao rather than cocoa as it's the more nutritional of the two) and I add a little bit of coconut sugar at the end and whisk it all in the pan 🙂 I also use soya milk to make chai at home - I put two chai teabags in a pan of soya milk and heat through and a little bit of coconut sugar whisked in at the end 🙂👍
American here… I adore your channel. I have a request: would you please show us your favorite tea brand…I’ve never heard of “biscuit tea” so you have me curious:) Thanks for your content ❤
try making almond and coconut milk , it doesn't curdle and tastes amazing , ive also been making sunflower seed milk for every day , to put on my fruit chia bowls i make for breakfast .
Exchange rate aside! 😊 the final price of produce is greatly lower in England. Packaged food is less too in most cases. I live in North Carolina but spend several months a year in England and my fiancé is there now and is a British citizen. I had to comment because it’s sad that the US grocery store prices are so high even on our local products.
If carotenemia is harmless how one people adjust until it fades? Is it an aesthetic thing or just because you don’t want excess levels of a particular nutrient
Do you have any suggestions for someone with IBS-c as fibre bleats me and slows things down even more. I also get low blood sugar from fruit and sweet potatoes/rice.
How do you get it that creamy? Do you do the blade twice? Cuz mine always gets fluffy with one go.. should I do it twice? Or is it cuz I’m not using nuts?
I love having you join me in my kitchen while I join you in your kitchen. What a fun friend you would be if we lived next door. I could be a foster gran to your sweet kiddies. I Must know where to find the Ethiopian recipes as I am a recovering Ethiopian food addict. If I can figure out the right spices, I can make it at home without the gallons of oil and butter they tend to use. Please, oh, please!!! Have a lovely day. Raising good people is a great work--even if in their adult choices they make poor choices, it's still a great work. Yes, enjoy your life; don't wish away the difficult days, either. Learn what you can and be grateful for the lessons. Goethe said, "Learn to love what must be done." That's where we find joy--loving what must be done instead of moaning and groaning over the everyday things. Your joy chat was highly enjoyable--more please.
Do you ever worry that calling what you make "ice cream", and considering how often you eat it, that your kids might get out in the world and think that they can just eat ice cream (the real thing) all the time?
Hey Darling Ami~Girl,💝 Oh YE of utmost highest top value in the entire WORLD of RU-vid!🏆 I'm LOVING this video, currently about half way thru.🌈 I know its not politically correct to comment on anyones body these days🤦♀ but as u were a former bigger person I reckon u would enjoy hearing what I just realised.🤷♀ At 13:20 your WAIST is only about one inch wide plus your ponytails!!!!💜😮💙😯❤😲💚🤯🧡😂
@@betheden6866 Yeah I found out when I watched her other videos - its heavily featured 😂 I was a noob around here when I posted that comment. Thank you so much. x
