Thank you bro, I just got a doner 96 fire bird 6spd that I was finna swap into my 75 skylark and you answered all the questions I had to put it in an oldie bc it’s my first swap and didn’t really know what todo with the pats and some wiring
Huge thanks for this video! I'm just starting on swapping a (very low mileage) '95 LT-1 (from a Cadillac) into my 1991 squarebody Suburban. This helps greatly. Again, thank you! 9:15
Good stuff. You may have moved on from this but as I am now playing with one of these, some of your "hacks" are much appreciated. I need to see where you got that fan and relay set up. Sounds like the relay and wiring are from Painless (part number would be great). Curious what fans you used?
Awesome video, very good for a budget swap.I'm looking at getting an American car at some point and looking at a project like this.the cars in considering are 77-90 caprice wagon 77-88 malibu(possble wagon) 79plus camaro or firebird.
I'd say do the wagon. Had a 86 pontiac safari, it was a great car, but way underpowered with the 305, still running good at 150K miles, but then, then I got a 94 roadmaster wagon, I could never drive it, wife was always driving it ! Rust killed the pontiac, else a 350 swap was in order. Mine still had a carb, I think. Anyway, life goes on. Yea, that olds 307 was even worse, buy one of those and give it some HP !
Do you have a diagram for custom wiring ecu? Cant get spark. I have power to coil .four wires off optispark to ecu. Grounds all good. Any other wires to hook???
Hey I’m swapping a lt1 to my 1980 trans am I need help with the motor mounts for engine and transmission May you send me the link for the motor mounts and transmission motor mounts. Really helpful. Thank you
Nice build. Thanks for the info. Thinking of doin LT1 or LS swap in my 78 jimmy. Would you rhink its easier to swap LT1 then a LS as far as wiring goes ?
It'd be the same as if you paired it to a 4l80 except shorter, shouldn't have to run a bell housing adapter if it's a chev pattern and the only thing might be checking torque converter compatibility, if you're putting it in a factory th350 car or 700-r4/4l60 car you might have to clearance the front of the transmission tunnel to fit the larger th400 case
@@oldschooledgarage9476 hey man, any chance you identified the 5 wires? I cant find anything on this. every time I search it sends me to the stupid resistor wiring. I'm swapping an LT1 into a 79 and man is it hard to find a tune for it. This would at least let me start that damn engine. Hopefully you remember which ones they were.
@@TEAMPHY6 I ended up purchasing Jet Performance DST, I have Y-Body (corvette) PCM so programing is the only way. I also will be doing some light (very light) tuning so I was going to need the software. For F-Body or B-Body LT1 engines. You have the option of purchasing a GM VATS bypass module from eBay.
"This is a budget build we're not gonna put a bunch of things in it" *buys a bunch of unnecessary shit instead of using factory wiring and throttle cable*
