I am a Muslim... So in our religion following any type of untouchability of humans is called as biddat (a very deadly sin)... So it's clear that being a Muslim I had never ever done any untouchability for any caste... I am a neet aspirant... I got 590 in my 1st attempt, but I was unable to get any college... But a SC/ST can get the college just by having 450 marks... Why are people like me who have never done untouchability to any one, are suffering this ???

Still it's practised here in my village Few weeks ago I was filling water in my bucket a women came to drink water. She asked me "did she(a dalit women who filled water before me) touched the water? I got two worst experiences of my life which were insane 1. When I was 10th grader my Cs teacher said in front of whole class of 64 students "you're enjoying kota rights" and I was like no mam I gave entrance exam for this school😬...(bcuz this school was one of best in our city)...but I felt so humiliated bcuzzz I haven't made any sin...all she said was so out of context 2. Bcuz I belong to a family of teachers (majority) so I used to think casteism must be vanished till this date...who can have low mentality at this age It was my very first day of college and there is a senior citizen in my colony (it was our new place) who belongs to gen category... I greeted him NAMASTE while touching his feet and he took a step back...like why??? I wasn't dirty or anything...I took a shower early morning and prayed to god so why?? I don't understand why he took a step back and didn't let me touch his feet...I wasn't expecting this from a senior citizen... *people of my colony have so backward mentality that majority of them used to ignore my greetings after knowing my caste (so I greet to only pple who dont ignore)...

Problem is Existence Of caste: Not Existence of Reservation.

As a low caste I had to lie to my freinds about my caste out of awakwardness, I never took reservation and now moved to canada after I lost my long time GF due to caste issues... I lived in a big city. Its real.

I'm an final year engineering student belongs to open category. My parents are farmer. In four years of my college I never went to trip. I never went in fancy restaurant. I never buy expensive clothes or anything. Just because my parents paying such high fees for my education I do not want to make them more to pay. I spent my so many days on just a vdapav or fried rice. U may think if my parents can pay engineering college fees then how can I say this .. but Thankfully I got TFWS seat.(because I have good score in CET) so my college fees reduced from 96k to 15k. When I came for admission my father took 15k from their friend to pay my fees. Earlier my brother was in English medium school but when I took admission in engineering College my parents couldn't afford both's expenses. Now he is going to Marathi medium school which is 5km distance from my home. Everyday he used to go on bicycle 5km. This is my condition. Some of my friends from open category who pays full fees(96k). They also never went in any fancy restaurant. Because they also think in the same way like already we r paying so much fees. And now we don't want more burden on parents. But...... There are so many classmates of mine who belongs to sc/st caste, they got admission on just 40-50% in CET. And they have fees Rs.1499 only🙂. Also they get hostel scholarship for hostel fees too. They always used to go on trips. Spend so much money on expensive clothes, food. Always used to go out for parties etc. I don't understand are they really deserve reservation?. Most of them are not even clear all subjects. Because of them so many brilliant students from open category loose their chance. If we say no job is small if we can earn from it.Then why we give them reservation on low marks. They can do other jobs. Why we take open category student's chance. How can India will develope by this method?? Some people may deserve but not all of them. It's really unfair for us. In family if one child is weak and we feed him on the bed. And to other if we say to earn by himself. Then definitely after some time the one is weak will not able to earn by himself and will used to get food on bed. And other one will get weak because he didn't get support from parents because of weak child.

Mistakes in this video - i) Caste System is not hereditary. No Hindu text mentions that. The Bhagavad Geeta (holiest book of Hinduism) mentions that caste is based on work and NOT hereditary. ii) Dalits were originally Shudras. They were not 'excluded' from the caste system. l belongs to a general category and study in BHU but general doesn't mean economic prosperity .Many of my friends belongs to SC category and take the benefit of reservation but their parents are in government jobs at higher positions but are always benefited of reservation at every stage of examination. So I believe reservation should be given on the basis of economic background

SC OBC ST are enjoying reservation of at least 50% in every aspect (in promotion also) for almost 76 years of Independence. Those who are privileged also, they also take reservation, & the poor SC STs donot get that much benifit. The constitution of India has already banned caste based discrimination and declared it as crime in 1950. Only caste based reservation system is keeping caste system alive. SC, ST & OBCs have more legal rights than the unreserved people. I advise SC OBC ST people to not have Inferiority complex in their minds. If any discrimination happens, file FIR against them. During the period of independence, it was the need of the hour but many things changed these days. Reservation is only destroying meritorious people nowadays. Judicial or Legislative review of Caste based reservation is the need of the hour. In the present day scenario, only EWS reservation should be given irrespective of caste/creed/religion. And caste based reservation should be banned except for the Scheduled Tribes.

When I was in class 9 then in my class I was the only one SC guy and rest students were from Upper Caste . So teachers used to ask openly in class about caste for 10th registration. I used to lie to my teachers that I belong to OBC caste then I personally message to teachers that I belong to SC caste just to save my dignity & because of embarrassment & shame I felt in my class & nobody in class would know about my caste , so I hide my caste. Same thing I did in 11 class for 12th registration but this time everyone came to know about my caste then my Pol science teacher & students most were from Upper Caste I was the only SC guy in my class again . Teacher & students had a discussion that these lower caste people should not get reservation & modi ji would soon remove the Lower caste reservation. My teacher & students used to hate me but somehow I averted this hate by a smile . Even my sister was harrassed by her computer teacher he was Dixit . He messaged her personality on zoom class & started abusing her & gave a threat that he would kill me & my sister. Because he used to hate sc PPL . But we complaint in police & taught him a lesson. I was a meritorious student in my class but now I realised why we PPL get reservation. Because of this reason " Untouchability " . Earlier i taught that reservation should be imposed as per economically but after these incidents I realised how important is " reservation " . I hate now mostly upper caste people becoz most of them are same . " Orthodox " . These people want to harrass us & at the same time want our reservation to be ended . First remove caste based discrimination then remove reservation. Everyone talks about that reservation should be stopped but no one talks about that caste based discrimination should be stopped. If I were a PM for one day i will abolish all castes in Hindu religion. Best solution for all !

Reservation is not going to end caste discrimination. Instead it is boosting discrimination. It increase the hate for reservation categories in non-reservation categories, when they failed to achieve their goal due to reservation. The government should choose other method to terminate discrimination, like punisging the person who involved in discrimination.

I can still remember the day of my childhood when I went to my neighbour's home to get my cricket ball that was stucked behind their water Pot. I just touched the outer part of the Pot for getting the ball, my neighbour Aunt saw me and she scolded me to death for just touching their Pot .After that she Throwed whole pot's water towards the plants. I didn't get anything of her action and asked my parents about that, they told me the whole casteism story in our village and since that day I realised that India is still There in the ancient period,It won't develop until these kind of things will be removed from our country.

I belongs to dalit caste. When I was searching for a room for rent 8 out of 10 people who asked me "what is your caste" and denied me... Remove the caste system first and then remove caste reservation.. Keep the reservation for economically weak people.

Class 12 th. Chandigarh. In a hostel of a well known private coaching. It was the first time I had stepped out for distance study. The first day of my hostel life was.. All girls gathered in a room, and started asking and telling castes. Which was quite weird to me, we don't usually do that in Punjab. Then someone asked me my caste, I said without hesitation, SC. Then next day I heard from someone that a girl said " Itni sundar hai, lagta nhi sc hogi".my first encounter with casteism. Killing of self esteem 😔😔

I lives in a village where people say if u touch Dalits u have to take bath before doing some another task. In my school Teachers taught us to abolish untouchability and the teachers told us that untouchability nowadays is hardly seen. While the reality is completely different. When the Dalits works as labourers, they have to sit away from us and have to bring their own utensils to eat food. I belong to SC caste from Maharashtra. my grandfather was very poor and could not even afford to provide normal food and clothes to my father. we had no land or asset as such. Because of poor living standards and zero financial support my father could not pursue higher education and thus failed 12th std. he started doing labor work on daily wages for around 30rs daily. as my grandfather was ill and retired all the responsibilities had to be fulfilled by my father. with just 30rs of daily wage he somehow managed himself to get married and as well as marry off his 3 sisters. when he used to get done from work while coming back his financially stable lower middle caste and few upper caste friends use to spend money on alcohol and dance bar. but he saved every penny he could and later on became a civil contractor. since then he started earning well and started investing in lands and real estate. now he owns 3 lands and one flat all on his own. he put me and my 2 brothers into good schools and did not use the benefit of reservation as we were financially good. he always said we are not taking reservation just so the one who really needs it can take the benefit of it. Also, i forgot to mention during his childhood he had to beg to get food for his family and faced a lot of discrimination from upper caste people.

I think educating our youth will definitely help to eradicate caste system but i have also seen educated people supporting caste system.

Recently my dad was watching a channel called "Zee Hindustan". They said that castism was brought by the British. And said that it never existed. But I disagree. I think that Britishers used caste system for their benifits but it wasn't "brought" by them. I did some research and came up with the same as Mohak did. I'm open to suggestions and comments 👍

A clear cut answer to those who believe that SC/ST/OBC people doesn't have caliber to get jobs or opportunities by merit but by reservation is that , the Father of Indian Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar became the 1st double post doctorate degree holder in economics in South Asia and he had written the world's largest written Constitution also and many more . All these he had achieved by his caliber but not by any reservation that doesn't exist at that time , even when the casteism was openly and massively practised .

We live in a world where when there is fight of hindus against muslims castes like dhobi chamar are also hindu basically the scheduled caste and tribes but when there is fight amongst the hindus this is pandit this is thakur this is yadav this is dalit.if someone says that this reservation sucks just say that is the ancient india there was reservation for 10% brahmans for 3000 years nowdays not even 80 years have gone by we can already see the pain.(I proudly say that im a obc)and in my friend circle we also have sc and st caste people but they are our brothers

Why can't we abolish the caste system altogether? Who will abolish? The older generation believes that the caste system is perfect. The younger generation knows that the caste system is one of the biggest obstacles in the development of India, but nobody wants to ignite a flame by himself/herself. Everybody is waiting for someone else to start the change. In India everybody wants a Bhagat Singh to be born, but in the neighbor's house.
