Hang on to your car. If I were you I'd enjoy it sparingly and appreciate it for the milestone car that it is. C5 Z06 cars are appreciating at an alarming rate if you're looking to buy one, and a delicious rate if you already own one. Your low mileage car is a special car indeed! The reasons for some of your complaints are driven by weight savings-- the spartan trunk for example, or the FRC roof are all about weight savings. The huge piece of glass and lift back assembly on the coupe weighs a lot more than the fixed roof with the small rear window. Speaking of glass and weight savings, both the windshield and rear glass are thinner than the coupe's glass. Consider the weight savings of the titanium exhaust! Do you research !! You're in possession of a significant and increasingly valuable Corvette. I would suggest you embrace it for both it's strengths and weaknesses and take comfort in knowing you own an important and very valuable example of Corvette history. CHEERS!
Yah it’s a cool car but at the end of the day it’s still just a Corvette. I don’t see this car being worth more than 50k. And if they get that high I think they wouldn’t be worth buying and I’d sell it regardless. Definitely a cool car and I enjoy driving it and putting miles on her but I highly doubt I’ll keep it more than 2 years. Also just to point this out I do like this car. Just made a video on things I don’t like. No car is perfect but there’s lots of things that I do like.
If you lift up the trunk lid they are two rubber pads on the lid in the top two corners. You can twist them so the come out. Twist them all the way out and thread them in slightly. It should help pop the trunk lid up more when you open it.
as someone who drove a manual that i could barely feel the bite point on, the on off-ness of this clutch sounds great. I also think I would prefer a notchy shifter to a loose/sloppy feeling shifter but no personal experience with a super notchy shifter just always thought me and my friends car felt pretty sloppy?
Clutch feel is relative to the car you are driving, yes its better than most but its a common thing people change because they do not like it. But it's not notchy in the sense you are thinking, the best way to describe it is it feels like eating an overcooked steak. It's hard to describe clutch and shifter feel, but take it from me, it could use some improving for the caliber of car Chevy was trying to make.
The car is not practical. It’s a track car. The roof design is the convertible design. The hatch is heavier. Your C5 handles better and it’s faster than other C5’s.
I’m well aware of why they made the z06 and what it is. Track car is an insane stretch. Track version would be the correct words. It’s very tame and as the other comment says you can easily daily drive it. It’s a corvette at the end of the day.
@@NavsGarageit absolutely IS a track car and still one of the best out there. From someone who tracks a 2022 Camaro ZL1 (Sonoma, Thunderhill, Laguna seca) C5Zs are still one of the most competitive platforms to date.
Anti venom mod will fix your shifter notchiness. Also they make a delete for the 1-4 shift. You can get both of those problems fixed at the same time since you have to jack the car up and do the fix on the trans
@@drewmorg. I’ve never had the normal one for c5 , I did in my fbody and I like the feel of the flat stick over the normal one and it just looks lot nicer in my opinion.
Hey, man. If you pop the truck, then close the driver or passenger door it'll pop it up more so that your fingers can slide under it and grab it better. MOST times. Yeah, it's annoying AF!!! LOL. 😀 That's one of the things that I also hate about my C5 Z06. I also hate that it sits so low to the ground. It takes me a while to back out of my driveway. I have to back up, drive forward, back up again, drive forward at an angle, then back up at an angle so I don't scrape the front end.
@@NavsGarage It's weird to me, sitting so low and looking up at every single other car on the road. 😀 It also makes me a very cautious driver, avoiding speed bumps, even the smallest potholes, etc., etc., etc. But hey, as you said, it comes with the territory. I don't think it'll ever sell it.
Owning a Camaro of the era I can say the Corvettes I've been in made better use of the crap plastic interior. By that I mean it's still crap but, tighter.
You have something that you clearly do not appreciate or understand. Pass it on to the correct owner. "It's still just a corvette" was your statement in a response. That is exactly what the Porches guys say at the track after they get hammered by my 20yr old z06
The corvette is a great car. Most corvette owners aren’t. It’s not a Ferrari and people treat them like they are the rarest things ever. I care for my car love them in fact but I don’t go around acting like it’s end all be all. It’s just a corvette. That’s what I meant by that. But my car is for sale.
