Nowadays large numbers are dying earlier in their 50s, 60s and 70s and slowly the data is being updated so people wrongly think average is still in 80s. So your time in this life is much less than you are estimating. Dont regret later how you spent all your life at work, travel to work, getting ready for work, come home and work, learning for work outside work houra... etc
When you have a Job the only thought comes in work life balance, When you are out of Job, The first thing that haunts is You want a job as the money earned from your Job was covering 80% of your issues, EMI/school Fees/ Monthly groceries. If no inflow of money from Job on Salary , Even you can invest and grow money. Until unless you start your own business its not cake walk it demands more effort than an Job. My View Then to strike a Balance is the Key , Employer wants more paying less , We want more family time... this tug of war continues.
The answer is Salary. Salary and Role usually go hand in hand. Most of the company based on the salary slab you are will be promoted. If I select the role also, my salary slab will be set as per the Role only. Flexibility is something it's in company or team culture. So you can demand flexibility only if company/team culture allows it.
After 75 years of independence, you are the 3rd generation, why do you have to live hand to mouth? What did your grandfather and father do for you? This is because our indian mindset, pass 12th get into a competition exam, and become a slave of employer for the rest of your life - and this circle keeps going on and on for generations. make money for the next generation and do them a favour.
i feel sometimes it boils down to sustainability. a combination of these 3 could be chosen by individual, however remaining in demand is most crucial factor
Good video. One more imp thing is to do research about the company that you are joining. It's imp to know about the company's culture, perks offered, company's market value and team culture if possible. The more you know about the company and your own market value the better you can negotiate.

Salary. Role does not matter. You wont get paid high if it is not an important role. If selecting other parameters you work for 10 yrs, then a person who opted for higher salary would be way ahead of you in terms of bank balance and wealth at the end of those 10 yrs, while you are still struggling with your finances with your so called flexibility. If one is intelligent enough to complete his work before deadline, then he is already getting his remaining free time, enjoying flexibility. So at the end It all boils down to Salary and how much you made.

There is a direct correlation between salary and value the employee brings in . If you are paid less than market price. It signals to other employers that you are low value. Nowadays you can't even buy a small house in a city after working hard for 1 decade. What's the point of working so hard anyways?
want to share scam in the name of good role , they can give you a work not at all related to your career aspiration and roadmap. my org is hiring someone under role of Data Engineer and slowly pushing them to learn Front end and react since react developers are too expensive. Same expectation is set for all of us in name of upskilling
My take is this : If you earn more and slog more, you do not get time to spend and enjoy that money. You lose all the little things in life. And if you think you are saving for your old age, what is the guarantee you will last till then. And even if you last, you might not have a healthy body. So no matter how much money you have you will mostly be bed ridden. So please for God's sake my countrymen, do not be so mad over money.
