If I was buying for collecting/re-selling at a future date, I'd just buy it in-store or op to have it picked up in-store. Shipping boxes will almost always be damaged no matter who is handling them and due to quick shipping procedures, usually labels are slapped on the product itself. Amazon did the same with a Christmas gift. They slapped a label on the outside of the box in a similar way and it was sticky after I removed it.
One time years ago I ordered a family guy dvd and It was brand new and I got it from Amazon. When I got it, their was like some holes in the plastic cover, the dvds were fine but the paper got a bit damaged
Amazon is pretty much the same way too. I work for Amazon and i remember seeing a pretty high end graphics card and all they did is slap a shipping label on the original box and call it a day.
Yeah, this is a thing they do sometimes. They did it with my Aladdin 2019 doll collection set. The box was fucking destroyed. And I was intending to keep it all in there and displaying it for collection purposes. It got to the point where I even emailed them and they said they couldn't do anything, and I emailed the toy company that made it and asked if they had replacement boxes, but of course they didn't. I was furious.
man I had this happen to me on amazon but here's the thing it was a par of headphones where I didnt need the box but it is still insane to me that they did that in the first place
The issue is they didn't ship it in a different box. It was shipped in its original packaging, meaning the likelihood of theft is higher, but what's even higher than that tis the risk of damage, especially with a big-ass shipping sticker affixed to it. And Best Buy does not give you an option to ship it in a nondescript box like Amazon gives you the option to. At least, I didn't have an option.
