I've bought this on 4th May and till now got 2 updates. I really like the sAmoled display on it. The performance is very smooth and the battery backup is great considering the power-hungry Mediatek G95.
Why you guys hate the "dare to leap" sign on the backside ? Who could read that ? In this age everyone is using some protection of the smartphone. In my case i use plastic case on the back for all of my phones and nobody can see a) original color of the phone or b) brand of the phone or c) anything written on the phone.

2 You have months, it is an excellent device! It's even waterproof, but obviously because of the perfectness of the gluing. I don't have ip protection, right? So I recommend this phone to everyone.

I updated the software since it notified alreay and upgraded to android 11 2.0,however i was wondering about the camera effects that was lost. 3 filters were gone which was one of the reasons why i bought this😩

Just bought this today. Opt with this one since I'm not a gamer and I only use this for emails, socmed, messaging. I suggest getting redmi note 10 pro/poco if you guys are really into gaming cuz I'm telling you you'll hate and be bitter with this phone. 🤣
Are you sure? I'm trying to buy another smartphone since my S8 is outdated and ran out of memory, although i don't wanna spend way too much and i discovered the redmi 8 and the redmi 7 pro and honestly i don't know which one should i choose between these 2.

In your opinion, bcz it's not only one player in Android game, so there's a lot to compare, while on in iOS side, it's only Apple is in the game, so its more fair to compare, brand to brand instead of looking at the OS
Dude Its processor is 12nm 3rd Class it'll heat up like a oven & drain your battery in no time. Go for newr 7nm Dimensity processors which r also made by Mediatek

Been using the realme 8 since December 28 and it's been a very nice experience so far. Got me 7 and a half hours of real-world usage outside the house, which I think is very good, especially the fact it has a power-hungry Helio G95. I managed to run my games (wild rift and pokemon unite) at high settings for at least 2 hours without any frame drops. I love the look and feel of realme UI although I wish it had better customization, especially the lack of options in AOD. The camera experience is decent on the stock camera app if you don't mind the saturated look but giving it GCam with HDR Enhanced definitely improved my camera experience, I wouldn't get this for video though, its usable but not something you should be using if you do a lot of videos. I don't like the "dare to leap" slogan so I hid it with a vinyl skin from one of our local shops here and I find holding the phone without a case a bit slippery with my sweaty hands so I bought a case from nillkin, its a hard case but has a grippy material, wider surface area from the sides and it's thin, highly recommended if you plan to get this phone. What do I wish to get though it having better haptics (it blows my mind that the cheaper redmi note 10 has much nicer haptics than the realme 8) Overall, quite a solid experience but not a first choice when buying a phone under this price range. You can get a Redmi Note 10 for the price but if you like an alternative and you don't like MIUI, this is quite a strong contender.
I've been using this phone since December too.. everything is quite satisfying for me except for the developers community, this phone doesn't have a custom ROM, which is really frustrating for someone who loves customization and playing with software

The splash proof seals threw it off honestly and having no 90HZ, most games right now are going to have a max of 120HZ like Wild Rift. And Riot games did say Valorant might come to Mobile as well, which mostly support 120HZ as well so it's a bit of a downgrade since a lot of game developers are trying to make their game 90HZ-120HZ compatible.
Man I have realme X2 Pro. Bought it mostly because of beastly Snapdragon 855+ and Super AMOLED 90Hz screen, with a bit weaker cameras and 4000mAh Li-Poly it's a decent phone if u like me aim for maximum performance under 500€. And as much as I was amazed by Super AMOLED, the 90Hz became useless and unnecessary. Games I play WoT/WoWs blitz, PUBG mobile, CoN WW3, Clash Royale, RTHD - none of those supports more than 60fps and streaming apps (Netflix, Prime video) have mostly 25fps movies so... 90Hz is not necessary, 120Hz is absolute madness, especially if someone chooses obsolete IPS display with 120Hz over supreme AMOLED/sAMOLED with 60/90Hz...
@@johnt.5646 Roughly the same where I'm from. 260 euro for realme 8 with 6gb ram and 128gb, (or 180 euro for 4gb ram and 64gb) While poco x3 with 6gb and 128gb costs 200 euro. Ended up buying the poco x3. I'm satisfied overall but gotta say I'm not wowed by the 120hz display. Feels no different than a 60hz display to me.
I am thinking about getting this phone today, but who knows any better device I can get at this price range, I'm more concerned on battery n performance! Quick responses please 🙏

This is better if you talk about performance cause of the GPU this is a top notch phone but the CPU uses more battery cause of the high speed CPU cores
Worst phone which can't even play prime, sun next and others, nobody test this aspects, lucky me was able to get refund, dare to leap to garbage town if you buy realme 8
Dont waste your time buying this phone if you are a big fan of netflix, amazon prime and other same platform. Mag redmi10 na lang kayo. Netflix doesnt work properly on this phone. You'll have to go through the trouble of needing to restart your phone all the the time just so you can play your favorite series. What happen is that if you play a video, itll only go on loading. At first you'll think it's your internet connection but it's the phone itself. Something to do with rom or software. i dont know. Realme addressed this already on their online form last April but nothing happened until now. I wish I had known before buying this phone.
9months of realme 8 my netflix is stable but update error on Netflix my opinion on CPU is bad since the core is powerful uses too much battery but you get what you pay for when you talk about GPU performance
