"Though a choice will come to the Dúnedain, and if they take the one that seems less hopeful, then your son will change his name and become king of a great realm. If not, then much sorrow and many lives of men shall pass, until the Dúnedain arise and are united again." This refers to the Dunedain as a whole, not Arvedui as an individual - and more specifically the birth of the Reunited Kingdom. When Arvedui raised his claim to the Throne of Gondor through both his wife and Isildur, the Council of Gondor had two claimants - one, Earnil, was a popular war hero who had helped save the kingdom. The other, Arvedui, was king of a distant and besieged land. So, Arvedui was the 'less hopeful', for he would drag Gondor into a distant war. But ultimately Gondor got involved anyway - but they did so too late to save Arnor. So, as a result, it would be another 1000 years until the Northern and Southern Kingdoms were at last reunited, and a new age began.
@@julian.i.m Once upon a time there was the Dagor Dagorath mod, which was made by certain people that did some unscrupulous things like stealing models and such from other mods without permission or credit. However, that mod had certain 1st age stuff.
Tons of new units, new and fun mechanics and really amazing models, this is a work well done. Love the idea of expanding on the AoR project to different settings and periods of Middle Earth. Can't wait for Angmar, it'll probably be the best iteration yet!
Arvedui was warned by the people of Forechel that he should wait until the weather got in better conditions to sail away. Arvedui chose to not wait and sailed ignoring the warnings. As a result his ship ran into an iceberg and sank, killing him. If he had waited for the storm to pass, then Arnor would've been able to be restored.
Bro, hang on. 26:05 "Which for some reason shocked everyone, I'm not quite sure why". as I recall, you were rather mad at the Cirdan portrait in the Edain mod because he was an elf with a beard. We O.G viewers remember, Ross. We remember O_O
Arvedui claimed rule of Gondor as a descendant of isildur but Gondor denied the claim as isildur denounced staying in Gondor and instead moved to Arnor where his father’s throne was as high King. From then on the line of kings of Gondor followed isildur’s younger brother, Anarion. If Arvedui claimed in the name of Elendil it was said it could have been different. Queen Firiel being the line of Anarion and Arvedui line from Isildur, their child: Aranarth becomes a line combined once again for both Arnor and Gondor which is why many years later Aragorn has lines from both isildur and anarion which he could make the claim as high King of the reunited kingdoms.
17:30 He was waiting fore the Boats. That was His way Out. But the snowpeople warned Him about a storm and Said that He should wait. He didnt Listen. The Rest is History.
Man I used to love this game as a kid, I probably put close to 300 hours into this and the first one combined. I hate that I lost my discs for them and that they'll never be re-released, but it's pretty damn cool to see you and modders keeping it alive and relevant!
I think the reason ROTWK avoided making Arnor is because it'd be derivative of Gondor and the MOTW. Just looking at this mod, this guy seemed to be struggling for content aside from Ranger variations.
But where is the black beardless dwarfs, almighty on her period Gal, and why is elrond not beta? (i Know the years don't line up but still come on get with the times) -Honestly bet a show on this would have been way better, then what we getting.
