It was time for a general Kpop realtalk video again. I hope you enjoyed it eventhough it’s a bit different from my usual content. I just felt the need to speak about those things and since all my subscribers are kpop fans I wanted to use my channel to speak about something more serious once in a while. I made other realtalk videos in the past. Here is the Playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLai_-bQT2abF8KTDI0B-KbIWLlguisDIE Also please don’t be too hard on me since I’m not a native speaker there will be mistakes or there could me misunderstandings. And people who are new to my channel might be confused because I’m constantly speaking about being respectful but making "shipping“ videos. But please differentiate!… read the disclaimer at the beginning of my other videos and you will know what and how I‘m doing things, don’t judge without knowing anything. I didn’t want to offend anyone with the subjects I’m talking about. I’m just trying to sensitize🥹 Please stay rational, polite and constructive in the comments ❤️

I understand that you might generally think that it is mostly the younger stays that cause all the hate and unnecessary drama, but as a 12 year old girl who is nothing like any of the haters on the internet, i really hate being put in that category, i also genuinely think anybody, at any age can be capable of these type of words, some kids can be more mature than adults and vice versa, just because we are children shouldn't automatically group us into the immature group of people. Also i am not trying to say i know everything and that i myself am not immature, because of course i am, i am simply trying to say that i don't like being put into a group of very immature people that start problems for no reason. I would also like to mention this is no where near an intent to spread hate, i always respect everybody and everything no matter what, also i love you and your channel, it just upsets me when people expect less of younger people just because we were in this world for a shorter time. I believe that wisdom and maturity is based off of how much you listen and take in through out your life, and not how long your life was. Also don't forget to stand up for yourself and others, your mental and physical heath matters so take care of yourself and your body, don't let others influence your life style, keep going and try your best, as long as you are trying, you are doing amazing, when you give up is when you truly fail.

I feel someone should also speak up about the over-sexualization of the female idols. Just few days ago I was watching the SBS Gayo Daejeon red carpet live stream, and I noticed something. I was watching Stray Kids and boy it was so cold outside that those boys were shaking. As a Stay I felt so bad for them, but my heart absolutely sunk when I saw the girls coming out in freaking spring dresses. SKZ were wearing suits and coats and still shaking, and these girls were wearing mini skirts and off-shoulder dresses. I saw many fan comments saying how they should have given SKZ warmer clothes, but not a single comment about how lightly the girls were dressed and how cold they must feel. With male idols, every know and then you will see someone showing their abs, but those girls are always literally half naked and people just take it as the norm, as if that's how girls are expected to dress.

OMFG THISSSS. I was watching some P1H videos and I was taken aback with how much skin they show. In reality, they just showed their shoulders/ wearing tank tops, and their shirts drew up a few times while they were dancing, but as a STAY, I wasn’t used to it. I only stan skz and p1h, but I was a skz fan for a year before joining p1ece, so skz became my norm. At first, i was a little shocked at how conservative some of the members were about covering up, just because I think men usually aren’t too concerned about that sort of thing, not as much as women anyway. Especially in the entertainment industry. But I got used to it eventually, and now I’m at a point where I’m actually glad that they have the say and determination to go against the norm and do what’s comfortable for them. But it also got me thinking Whenever I see girl groups, I swear their clothes are like half an inch away from showing the skin of their private ares 😭 and the difference btwn that and skz is so bizarre to me because the industry is just feeding into the hyper-sexualization of girls and women. Like half the skz members don’t even show their stomach but every other girl group member is in a crop top, short shorts, and twerking on an elevated stage 💀 The fact that there’s a male group that can say they don’t want to wear so much as a tanktop while so many female groups are sent out in 1/3 the amount of fabric used to usually make an outfit? Just ridiculous.

#3 finding someone sexy isn’t sexualization, but actually going to the person or a public place and being weird like the “mommy/daddy” thing… 🤢 like acting like they’re not a person you find sexy but just some doll to fantasize about or make them do what you please is really weird
@dev.grobovsky

I like the way Keeho from P1Harmony does his live/broadcasts. He directly says "This is weird" or "This is not normal" when he sees strange comments or fan requests. He sarcastically answers questions like "Will you be my boyfriend?" or "Will you go on a date with me?" And in general, Keeho behaves like an adequate adult guy when he sees all this crazy fan crap.

So glad to see more creators talking about this in such a nice and constructive way. I have only been into kpop for one year and a stan of pretty much only two groups. But it is the same for all types of fandom culture. Fandom culture at one point saved my life because of the community that it fostered. Another was stanning different groups and people. Nothing can bring people together or break them apart like stanning someone/fandoms. But it is so helpful to be made aware of the hurt. It is so true that the world of social media and anonymity online makes it so easy to forget that these are real people. They deserve all the happiness and privacy because they all had to give up so much of themselves at such a young age. I mean I look at the ages of 16-17 and remember what I was doing then. It certainly was not learning to become an all-rounder performer and media personality. I was not dedicating years upon years until I was good enough to make it into a group or get recognized by others. Nor was I basically raising others my age or younger. I was never asked to lead a group of people with the knowledge that the world was watching. That will affect anyone. It is a wonder they carry themselves the way they all have for so many years. That has to have taken such a toll. I am sorry for the novel, but I do think it is good to remind ourselves of these things. Not just to give perspective on the endurance these kids had to have for so long going into adulthood, but to remind us of the humanity of our idols. We claim to love and support them. We claim to wish them all the happiness in the world. Sometimes that comes in the form of simply letting them exist for a moment offline where we cannot see or know. To not speculate or assume. To just watch and be proud of the talented young adult they have become.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE THIS!!! I've seen so many videos like this but this is the only extremely accurate one I've seen. You actually named lots of things, have detailed explanations and examples. You are very right that people need to not say anything if they've got nothing positive to say. I know lots of people who make videos like "Comebacks I was disappointed in." And yeah, you can dislike any song you want, but you don't need to share it online for everyone to see. Imagine an idol came across one of those videos and saw their comeback in there. And that goes for anything. Not just Kpop. So yeah, I hope people see this and this world becomes less toxic one day.

I wish I could give more than just one like for this. This is exactly what I think all the time since I got into kpop. Nothing in kpop is really healthy. I love the music and the interactions of them but the pressure from company's and fan's are horrible. I also can't find any good reason for fan wars. I don't get why people are fighting each other just because they have a different taste in music/groups. Thankfully I'm old enough to know this and keep myself away but for younger fan's it can be really toxic

Thank you!!! Everything you said is so true. I also think people should stop projecting their ships onto the idols real lives. It's one thing to ship and to do it in private or in the ship community, but to go into the comment sections of the idols' vlives or posts and ask them why they aren't with another member, or to get upset when they see photos of their idol out with someone outside of their ship is unhealthy. They are humans with private lives that we have no right to pry into or ask about.
@lerntofly6202
@lerntofly6202 Год назад
Oh I really agree with your comment! I’m not afraid to admit that I am a shipper myself but like for more sensible shippers the first rule of shipping is don’t let people who aren’t in the subfandom see the content. Don’t comment about your ships on official content or posts that aren’t specificlly about that ship. Like keep yourself to fandom spaces where people won’t get offended for gods sake!
@autumnstars
@autumnstars Год назад
@@lerntofly6202 I ship, too! It's hard not to be with a group that loves each other like SKZ does. But it's getting really hard to watch a lot of the content because of how possessive many shippers are getting 😭 especially with a couple of the major ships. Many people only watch ship content, then become so convinced their ships are real that they get angry with the idols or other stays. Like when people were sending hate to Hyunjin and calling him a liar when he said he gave his ID photo to 20 people and not just to Felix. Things have gone way too far!

Every time I see SKZ talk about their diets or what food they can't eat,I cringe. BUT what really got me was, that they said a lot of times that they didn't drink water for 24 hours (if I didn't get it wrong)! The first time I heard it my mind went blank and I just: what the h*** is JYP forcing them to do? Don't they know how unhealthy that is? And then our boys talking about it so casually,sometimes so proud, that I can't get over it. It really makes me sad. I don't care if their face is swollen (I mean, where the heck should they swell be?! I've NEVER seen it once. The company is just imaging things!). I don't stan them because they look handsome. I like them, because they produce music than heals me and because they are that crazy chaotic on screen as they seem to be in reality too... So what I wanted to say is: I don't care how they look or who they love. I WANT THEM TO BE HEALTHY AND HAPPY. So that they can enjoy their life the way they want to. And thank you very much for that video 😘

Yeah, i think the healthiest messages about food/eating/workout has been stated by Lino. The unhealthy programming hasn't been absorbed that deep in him. He talks about his own workouts etc, and clearly wants to build his body for the looks, but when asked he has told that one shouldn't avoid food if they're hungry, ppl shouldn't diet, just eat healthier foods, don't skip meals, do what your body tells you to etc. Changbin too, but i think he talks more about being strict in the chosen diet and workout which can translate into very unhealthy relationship with food and exercise. Chan has been better lately, but i see myself in him in this; it's different to know what's healthy and what one should do/think/feel than actually do that. He tries to say the right things to stay, but doesn't seem to take his own advice.

I rlly feel bad for wonyoung, it seems like 24/7 she’s just getting hate for nearly everything she do….and also, the fact that we have to say that idols are human is kinda sad. Not saying they aren’t human but, the fact that we have to say and remind some people that idols are still human and they make mistakes like all of us. Is just sad. And obviously, some things they do is what a not normal person would typically do on a daily basis because of their job as an idol. but they are still human.

Thank you for the video 🥰🙏🏽 I agree with everything you said. I've been a Kpop fan for more than a decade now (2007) and I've seen and heard so many things that really needed a Real talk of its own. Insane netizens and online fans have evolved from obsessive to downright disrespectful sometimes. I remember back when Jay Park was a member of 2PM, netizens got so upset with him about something that they signed an online petition to stand in agreement that Jay Park should kill himself. Like wtf. To hear Felix get similar statements hurts my heart. 😭 However, knowing that there's more variety among the body types of Idols, makes me happy. No one should be body shamed, over sexualized and objectified. No one. And I've been more busy lately in life that I hardly watch any Kpop MVs anymore, I stream the songs instead. So I've never seen any SKZ MVs but still I love them. And I love Minsung and this channel for more Minsung content. I wish people could enjoy the art that these artists create and respect everyone as the human beings we all are. Happy Holidays everyone ❤️ and take care for yourself.

Fans can't take criticism regarding their faves. Like it could be anything from Clothes to songs or looks or anything. And fans get triggered and start death threatening that person. Some people love to cancel idols for cancelling idols for small mistakes and false accusations. I know they are famous and people look at them but people forget they are human just like us, they also make mistakes 🙂 but no fans are going to cancel them. As for sexuality some of the fans really think calling idol Gay/bi/pan or any sexuality except of straight is an insult, which is not. Like fans get so much offended when people call idols other sexuality but they will be first one to assuming they are straight, And period we should use gender neutral terms when referring to their future partner

Yes, you are absolutely right. Idols, fans etc… are all humans and we should respect them all. Especially for idols, when I see some comments on wattpad RU-vid or whatsoever I get uncomfortable. Some fans really have no boundaries and it upsets me so much. I sometimes hope that idols are not reading anything negatives or at least I hope some mean comments would not upset them as much because all of them have achieved so much to become what they want and they deserve respect! And for skinny idols, I agree that some of them look really concerning. Yes, sometimes the cameras and the lightning on stage can be pretty tricky when you take a picture, but when you see the paparazzi pictures, then it’s really (I would say scary but) unhealthy looking, almost like they are starving themselves. I mean, I was naturally very thin when I was young because I was growing fast. People used to tell me “my child let me feed you”😂 but I was never unhealthy skinny. So I know what being normal skinny is and where the limit is. And i always had a problem with how K-pop industries tell idols to lose weight like “you need to get off 5 kg in 5days” ???!! This is extremely unhealthy! I have tried it once one of those dumb trends just to see how my body will react and after the third day it was like hell (I do not recommend this!!). My body barely had the energy to stand up! Imagine the idols who are starving themselves for years and performing on stage. As a future doctor myself, I consider this is inhumane! Anyways, dear yonbokis sausage, I am amazed by your speech. You really “sound” (or seem idk lol) like a good and caring person. And we need more people like you in this world. Greetings from Belgium

First of all Thank you for speaking Facts. Maybe no one wanna one it but, I wanna share this, thoughts of me: I think quite often when I see idols from girl bands but also boy bands that they look unhealthily slim and as much as I like the music and everything or that's why I'm extremely worried about the unhealthy looking body weight. It would be nice if this weren't pushed further, but if the "ideal" type were to be set a little more realistically and especially physically healthier. Without wanting to sexualize anyone, I find it generally more appealing when the idols are dressed normally, of course if some skin can be seen it's normal to escalate as a fan, I think it's normal, but personally I think it would be better if it's not considered normal that the idols almost tear their clothes off on stage, it makes it more exciting if you can't say whether the choreo is so powerful that maybe something stands out or not. Although the most time the choros itself are enoug to simp your soul outside your body. I really don't get this Daddy sexualizing thing, a lil girl or a old girl can call is dad daddy, when did it start to become to a extremely sexualizing word? One of my biggest wishes for the K-Pop industry: Idols who open dates, there's almost nothing better than being in love and getting it back. These people work hard at their job as idols and they should be allowed to love, it would be nice for them and maybe change fan attitudes too, yes the idea of dating an idol can be great but actually I would love it if they did should be allowed to meet openly without having to think about the fans no longer supporting them because of it. Love can give a person so much, ok yes they love it when their fans show them love but really showing them would show acceptance that you can fall in love with them without having to hide it, regardless of whether they are same sex or straight. Fanwars are so useless, just love your group or groups and suporrt them, where they have time to hate others, I just try to focus on all the content the bands I like creating and enjoying it, but there are so many times I end up in Fanwars just for saying that I like anything or say that I think there was content or anything that was better or not.

Omg the sexuality one! Tysm for saying it for the people in the back. 1) it’s so fcking weird how COMFORTABLE some people are doing what they do to male idols. I think that most of those fans would be total disgust if a male fan do they stuff that they do to a female idol. And yet they think that their sexualization of these men is perfectly acceptable… 2) I’m only a stay and p1ece, so I’m not sure about other fandoms, but I swear that the “stop assuming…” comment is on 1 in 4 skz posts. Like ppl will just be platonically talking about a duo and other stay flood the replies with “stop assuming he’s/they’re gay. You’re making them uncomfortable.” As if assuming they’re straight is any better? As if assuming they fit into heteronormativity isn’t uncomfortable for a queer person? And idk if it’s because they’re touchier and flirtier than other boy groups, but it’s actually impossible to escape these confrontations. ESPECIALLY regarding Jisung, Lee Know, and Felix. The first 2 because of minsung and Felix bc of the infamous “what’s your type?/ boy or girl?” fancall. The way some stay LOSE THEIR MIND to other stay looking up to Felix as a bisexual/ lgbt ally is wild 😭 I understand and respect not assuming anything, but it’s so hypocritical to only say so because you’re assuming that your idol is straight

Yeah I’ve always thought why some ppl still ask them to show their abs - they are much more than just their abs- can’t they get anything else to talk about- same for how many fans just care bout looks and thinks they buy pc to just decorate their phone case like WTF - also if we really love someone it means we care bout them - their health and the boundaries too 🤷‍♀️

/TW similar than those in the video/ Even though I agree about some opinions,I whould like to state something that I feel hasn’t been said enough:At the end of the day,an idols weight is not something we should dictate,nor should the Koop industry in the first place,as much as we whould like to see our favorite idols happy and healthy,we as fans,could never change an idols perception of themself and their body because it is a journey they should go through on their own,the only thing we can do is blame the way the industry decides to handle their idols weight to fit unrealistic beauty standards by pointing out how flowed these same standards are in the first place.But recently I have seen an influx of Kpop stans trying to quote on quote "help and idol " by constantly pointing out how skinny they look and by making videos showing off how much weight and idol lost or wich part of their body seem really thin,and to be quiet honest I find this absolute horrible,I understand that you care for these idols and that you in no way want people to understand these behavior as you shaming them,but even if you aren’t shaming them,you’re still commenting on their weight,and that is not a behavior that should be acceptable,especially if people follow the narrative than an idol suffers from an eating disorder,You never comment on someone’s weight online,especially not in cases like these,as a person who has a disorder such as these could consider fan’s behaviors validating in some ways,for exemple if they see everyone constantly making fancams of their weight go viral,an idol might think «"oh their talking about me so must be doing something right " wich could make them think they should continue this behavior.Same thing for people being accused of being "fat" because even though it has been mentioned many times saying that an idol looks "cuter when they’re chubbier " or anything like that might make them think that they need to loose weight to fit the standard because people are starting to talk about the way it affects their look,wich might make the company pressure an idol to diet even more.Even if an idol does realise that they need to gain back weight,they might attempt to eat more or in an unhealthy way to compensante for the weight they lost as an eating disorder doesn’t go away immediately as soon as you realise that your weight is unhealthy and might just switch to another eating disorder opposite or complementary that the one someone possibly already had.For someone to gain an healthy weight back or for someone to deal with an eating disorder,they need to be helped by professionals and professionals only such as dietitians that could help them set and healthy goal for the weight that should be ideal for them with the help of a general medical professional to help with physical health,as well as a therapist or psychiatrist or any professional in the mental health who could help them with any deeper problems wich could relate to their behavior because disordered eating is almost always caused by something deeper,whould it be the pressure created by the industry or fans or something entirely different,but it’s not and will never be as fans our role to push them into getting help,its always going to be mainly to the concerned person with the help of their close friends or family if needed,and this could apply to anyone who feels this way,not only idols. I know that my comment might not entirely make sense or that someone might feel that by posting that I whould do the exact opposing of what I’m saying since to a degree I’m commenting on an idols weight and health,but I though that if anyone read that and understood what I meant or if it could help them understand that we should all probably stop always talking about and idol but instead talk about their company,the entertainment industry or just society in general it could have a positive impact on the k-pop fandom in general. Anyways I’m sorry if my comment felt too long or a bit annoying or if you felt I was too invested in something I shouldn’t be m(_ _)m ❤ this video was nice as it’s cool to see people’s opinion on different topics and be open about sharing them. To anyone who read this have a great day ! (Modified because RU-vid considered the end of my comment as a link lol )

@darlingtoniacalifornica1464
Agree. If we do talk about it, it should be more like general talk about the phenomenon, but not about someone's weight. It might trigger them, and even when it isn't exactly triggering, it makes them feel that the fans are really focused on their weight or looks in general, and they get more self conscious about it or feel like that's what fans love the most about them when it's not the reality. Tbh we shouldn't really talk about their looks at all 😅 i know it's not gonna happen, and i do talk about their looks too much myself, but still. I don't like when ppl comment on my body, even if they mean it as a compliment, cos it might not feel like a compliment to me. Why would these ppl be any different? They're working their asses off making us music and videos and other content just to get "omg you're so hot" 😅🙈 We know better, we should be better!
@FenrirGungnir
@FenrirGungnir Год назад
@@darlingtoniacalifornica1464 Exactly!Even though it might be a bit unrealistic to ask fans to not care about looks in an industry such as entertainment,which has been built on looks for decades and which to this day is still extremely toxic in pretty much every aspect,fans need to stop valuing an idol’s look so much and start caring about things that objectively matter,and in this case it shoud be the group’s music.I know it’s extremely unrealistic seeing how the K-POP industry relies almost entirely on looks and how close a fan feels to their idol (I in no way mean that idols nowadays aren’t hardworking (or talented whatever you prefer) nor that fans don’t care about talent or music as a lot of fans still mostly care about it).Fans love to blame fans they call " saesangs " because they feel that they’re getting in an idols personal life to much but at the same time will comment on their favorite idols look,their personality and their behavior as if they know everything about an idols life especially on social media.They act as if whatever someone says about an idol must follow the conception of said idol they have in their mind and will act as if they must protect an idol because they feel entitled enough to believe they can do something to help them by pointing out everything they find about them and commenting on it,it just became natural to kpop fans to act this way and we probably all where guilty of it at some point maybe even without realizing it.Fans love to call other fans delusional but then all agree to say they just want to help or educate an idol in their behavior trying to point out every little aspect of the personality they show on camera and give it a deeper meaning either in a negative way such as all the rude comments fans make about an idol’s attitude like lazy,rude,entitled or anything of the sort or in a positive way trying to act as if their the sweetest cutest bean of joy and happinesses this world could have ever birthed ,beautiful god/ess or the most unique original person on earth.Kpop fans have been calling themselves stans for years and have normalised it when the origin of this word was literally « stalker fan ». Fans feel like they have the need to care about everything someone they never had a conversation with does but still decide to blame fans who comment on someone’s weight negatively whilst putting an emphasis on how unhealthy and dangerously bad someonés weight looks as if they didn’t do the exact same thing they blame others for.I don’t want to blame fans for believing they are so entitled to do everything for an idol because the whole kpop industry is based on that as I said before and that its probably not entirely the industry’s fault as well as we have fans have decided to normalise this behavior as well.Fans comment on things they whould probably never comment on to their face if it was someone they knew or even an artist in other genres than kpop (even though some do because people who are genuinely bad exist)Fans probably won’t care if an indie pop artist had plastic surgery or gained weight because they mostly just listen to their music and move on,but if the artist is a kpop idol they whould either try to blame idols for their weight or surgery or defend idols saying that they still look good if they gained weight or that their idol never had surgery because they are 100% natural and that they are sure that they whould never do that as if they knew idols since birth and followed their every moves.I know not everyone acts like this but still the majority of fans that are vocal enough to comment about it do.I believe that in an ideal world fans whould listen to their favorite musics,share it around if they want to support it or move on if they didn’t,maybe explain why they didn’t like it or just make a few jokes about how much they didn’t like the way the song sounded and moved on after that.Saw content of an idol or group they liked and just watched it without thinking too much about what an idol does but more or so about how much fun it was to watch these video or whatever other content they consume.If they didn’t agree about an idol’s behavior they whould just maybe talk about it once whilst still considering that even though they did something bad they’re still a human being who makes mistake or that they’re just this way and that we can’t really change it by commenting on how much we hate it or didn’t talk about it at all and just stopped supporting said behavior.Just realise that they just can’t fix every aspect of someone’s life especially someone they never met and should just deal with their own problems and let an idol deal with their not only idols but people online or in their daily life as well.The only time where I could excuse talking negatively about someone is if you have a reasoning for it or maybe even proofs to show that this person is bad or that this person needs help or anything else really we should know that even though people keep repeating it recently our words and our actions have consequences.Positive words can have negative or positive consequences whilst straight up hatefull or negative behavior will probably always have negative consequences.At the end of the day we should be mindful of the way we act even if we think that something we say is positive,nobody is perfect in their behavior,in their looks or even in their mental or physical health.You can’t expect anybody to always fit every standard and to always feel or act ok.You can have opinions but you’re not entitled to make anyone agree with you,do what you want them to or look the way you feel is right.I as someone writing this comment is not exempt of this as well.I can’t expect everything to resolve itself easily for fans or for idols nor should I expect that I will always be perfect even if I want to try my hardest to do what I think is right when I feel like I need to. Anyways if anyone read that sorry if it didn’t make sense since I’m writing in the middle of the night which makes it hard for me to write something consistent since it’s already hard when I’m fully energized lol 😂 and of course thank you for reading(and answering to my comment with your opinion it was really cool).If someone ever feels like stating their own opinion or expanding on what was already said I’d love to read it as well as long as everyone acts civil,and thank you to the creator of this video for opening up the conversation that allowed us to talk in the first place !
