I think this Tank has an enhanced ability to cause engine fires. I’ve been hit several times on the engine and every shot has caused my engine to catch fire, regardless of the tank. I wonder if there’s a way to check on the stats for that?
TL:DR - Tank is NOT for beginners, but intermediate and advanced players (1500+ wn8 and 2k+ wn8 respectively) will find this tank very fun. Mastering shell selection is a REQUIREMENT for doing well in this tank. This means you HAVE to know the weak points of all the tanks you are shooting at. Petty knows them VERY well, and as such makes it look effortless. I have this tank and my first game in it was a 4.5k dmg and 1.2k spotting. It was a loss. I was last alive and could not damage a VK 100.01P. I got surrounded and ganked. The armor on this tank is EXCELLENT if used properly. It is a proper beast when you can hide the lower plate. However, this tank has a HUGE drawback. WOT has released very well armored tanks like the Skoda t56, M48 RPZ, Bellerophon, Inferno, Rhino, Death Chariot, Orthrus, Minotaur, Scourge, Defender, AMX M4 49, Daimondback, Paladin, Eradicator, Roswell, SGT Slaughter, the patriot and ESPECIALLY the VK 100.01P. These tanks REQUIRE you to find a flanking angle. If ANY of these tanks are utilizing their armor properly, you have VERY little chance of doing any meaningful damage to them. You have a MAX pen of 212. Almost any tank on the list can bounce that all day. Your shells are AP (212P), Hesh (165P) and HE (68P). The saving grace of this tank is actually the 165p Hesh. That can SLAM hatches and weak spots when used correctly. Even worse, those are just tier 8 tanks. I am not even sure it is POSSIBLE to pen a Maus in an actual match. Forget about penning a t110E3. You will NOT have an easy time against a Mauschen. It is basically a direct counter to you. If the AP was 225 pen, you would have a much easier time. The hesh is VERY powerful against lights and mediums. Your job with this tank is to kill the enemy lights and mediums as fast as you can. This is to give your team a numbers advantage and MOST IMPORTANTLY, a spotting advantage. You can SMOKE light tanks with the Reaper's Scythe, even with HE. Overall, I consider this tank a challenge tank for late intermediate and advanced players. You will have MANY games, especially vs tier 10s, where you feel unable to do proper damage. I love this tank, but it is NOT for everyone.
Definitely seems like a nice tank. Doesn't hurt that it's named after one of the coolest looking primarchs in 40k. I'd consider getting it with the discounts if it were being sold solo.

Great review! It's not the 430u, but it's cool. I really enjoy the 430u, as well. I was not disappointed when I finally got the tech tree beast. It really seems to work for me. I love its combination of armor, mobility, and firepower. I might consider this one or the light tank, as the others don't seem that interesting to me.
This looks like one of the best tanks in the 40k pack for 6k on the deal is pretty nice. The camo and armour is balanced with poor pen plus the skin and the green bolts look cool. Shame we don't have a 3d chaos commander to go with it.
I might try and 3 marks this when I finally get it off sale, I'm already preparing my self for the times I will encounter a super heavy and have nowhere to pen them lol.
GG, but this seems like another premium tier 8 medium which makes numerous of it’s supposed peers irrelevant. You elude to the point with your comparison to a T-44. I can see that this thing against tier 6’s & 7’S is going to be an issue (for them).
@@mikerhem1273 …. Because they are 1) cheaper than tier 9’s & 10 premiums, 2) they have better bonuses, and 3) they see a wider(more enjoyable) tier range. Each to their own.
@@atwilliams0708 eh I feel the exact opposite about tier 8. It seems the days of tier 8 seeing tier 6 50%of the time is over. These days the +2/2 feels feels completely off with tier 8 being in tier 10 matches damn near 80% of the time in my opinion. Those top tier games are to far in between. At least in a tier 9-10 premium you absolutely know your going to be the beast you wanna be while not hoping and praying you don't get thrown to the wolves in a tier 8 vehicle unless your in a camo beast like the Barraque
Not really interested in any of the 40k tanks but my team just got wrecktd by a mvp using this who was someone with a 47% win rate after 50k battles so I had to look it up to see what was going on. Kinda surprised that it seems pretty meh based off your review altho I did take it out easily with my Tier Vi tech tree TD but the damage was already done.
I've only recently started using this tank once the final discount hit. Not gonna lie, its really won me alot of battles and at 75% of the time getting top 5 even 1st place, averaging around 5k damage, this has to be my new favourite tier 8 tank
@@Petty360 Like it is fun to play, I got a handful of season challenges finished with it, blocks alot of shots does good damage. For a while I got nearly 20 matches where it was tier 6 to 8, no higher tier to face but they came back around, but was nice to get good damage in to low tier tanks with it, highest damage I got with reapers scythe was 7k and 7 tank kills
I'm new to this game. My friend bought me a couple of these 40k tanks so we can play together. After watching these reviews I've noticed a theme. They really want you to pony up for premium ammo on these premium tanks. Luckily I've enjoyed the basic tanks more. But it hurts knowing my friend spent so much and these tanks while fun feel like a trap.
I have the 430u not really the biggest fan of it I don't like the gun depression being only 5° same goes with the reaper scythe I'm probably not going to get this one some of the tanks I want is the nemesis or the lemon russ but they're just too damn expensive for players that don't pay for gold this whole event's been completely useless of getting people back into the game cuz there's literally nothing to earn for free it's a trash event for free to play players
