While i was driving the rear airbag blew on the way to my dentist appointment. Then during a roadside fix I forgot to block the wheels and the RV tipped off of the jack. The Jack punctured hole in the gas tank and drained 30 gallons of gas on the ground prompting me to call Emergency Services.
The firemen were awesome. really comforting as I'm sure I looked stressed and doing their best to remind me i at least I made it out from under the RV safe. At one point the chief even thanked me for the rare training experience for his crew. Good to hear at least something good came of this, i replied.
They did their best to block the drain as gas had just started pouring into it when they arrived and foamed up of the the rest of the gas puddle to contain it or neutralize it i dunno.
Eventually a heavy rescue truck came and used large airbags to help get my RV back up so I can get the tires back on and get it towed back to the ranch where I will finish repairs.
Thank you Vancouver Fire Department & AAA Towing.

I kinda feel your pain in a way. I got this old 1990 AlumaLite XL. Has a Chevy P30 chassis like yours, I think. Except mine has the TAG axle in the back and an 80 gallon gas tank. The RV has sat for the past 17 years and my dad and I are both working on restoring it. Anyways, when we parked it we thought we had drained the gas tank. Turns out that we left just the tiniest of puddles in it. Over 17 years it rusted and ate through the tank. So when I got laid off for 6 months last year and decided to spend some of my free time getting it to crank, I poured some gas in it and then quickly found out about the rust. So I jacked it up and pulled the tank. Big 80 gallon monster of a tank. Busted my ass wresting that thing out of there. Went ahead and swapped the pump while I was at it with a brand new one. Put some JB weld tank patch on it. Busted my ass again wresting it back in. Poured in some gas and then...it was still leaking. The JB weld didn't take good. I've never been so pissed in my life. On top of that I had also just been called back to work. So there went all my time. Let it sit for another few months. Tackled it again a couple weeks ago. This time I put a wire wheel on my angle grinder and stripped all the JB weld and undercoating from the whole area. Got it down to just bare metal. Then I went out and bought two packs of the original JB weld. Covered the entire area in about 1/8th inch layer, covered it with a piece of scrap metal, sat 3 cinder blocks on it and let it cure for 24 hours. Then I turned the tank back right side up, poured in 5 gallons of gas, let it sit for a week. Made DAMN sure it was fixed this time. The tank has been back inside the RV for a bit less than a week now and it still hasn't leaked yet. As for the engine, all it needed was a new water pump and some new serpentine belts, and it needed some electrical connections cleaned. Fires right up now and purrs like a lion. Just need to get some issues figured out with the power steering and the brakes, then I'll start worrying about putting it back together and cleaning it up.

Those hf jacks bleed down it happened to a friend of mine while trying to put jack stand under a truck. Never get under a vehicle with only a jack holding it. Get real tools if you’re going to work on heavy vehicles . That could have been your blood mixed with the gasoline. You may have saved somebody else from making a deadly mistake by posting the video. A lesser man would have never said a word.

I'm glad you're not hurt! You don't need me to tell you that you could have been killed! As a huge RV owner/enthusiast, and an Emergency Room/Trauma Registered Nurse I've seen mangled bodies from stunts like this. Dude, you have to be careful working under machines like these!!!

Wow! That's a Jet Ride air suspension system. It was a very expensive, after-market modification that one of the past owners must have done (Winnebago didn't manufacture them that way to my knowledge). I have one on my Allegro. The modifications to the suspension are significant. It would be difficult and time consuming to try to put it back to stock. Jet Ride no longer makes the system for RVs, but they're still in business. A guy named Eldon there helped design, manufacture and support the system. I haven't talked to him in a few years so I don't know if he's still there. He knows EVERYTHING about them. My rig happened to have a spare bag in a storage compartment when I got it. Thankfully I haven't needed it yet. They look fairly universal. Eldon told me, too, that they're designed to have a minimum of 50 PSI in them otherwise they make contact with the wheel and you can tear a hole in them. I often wondered if mine would be towable if I lost a bag - your video answers the question. Let me know if you need help getting in touch with Eldon or if you want me to see if I can find a part number on the bag. I believe it's manufactured by Firestone.

Well. What a dark day. All things considered though, you put a fine video together. I fear if that was me, I would not have filmed a thing. In fact, I know that there is stuff that I should have recorded in the past, but it's just been too overwhelming, or even embarrassing. Repect!

with limited income and your broad range of automotive and home repair you save 50% on labor but at the end of the day you have a lot of parts into an old motor home if major repair break in or accident they will total your rig. just saw a trailer side of the road totaled...would recomend you build your componets modular then if you total your rig you can buy a box truck and move your componets into a 26 foot box truck. take the horse trailer and make your tools modulzr and bullet proof the horse trailer use it for all your tools.... that way you can park the trailer in a mini storage and is safe and secure. look to use home depot supply they deliver for free to any location the next business day... would look to advertise handy man services with your video people see you have the skill other option use box truck for package deliver for amazon is a auick cash flow. ron paulk has a build out for a cargo trailer or the horse trailer for your tools. you should have the option to strip the motor home in a few days and relocate the componets...would use quarter inch to go over existing walls the add wall paper or carpet to upgrade....

About a week ago my heater core hose blew and left me stranded at night right on a busy blvrd... I was a basket case, flashlight didn't want to work and I had to find the problem pretty much blind... I couldn't imagine dealing with your problem... You'd most likely find me in a nut house afterwards... Lol... Glad you had money cushion to fall back on... Yours is a very good lesson on what we need to be prepared for and invest in... I'm glad at least you are were able to get to a safe place....

the video answered my question...the Hydraulic jacks don't work...they can completely stabilize the vehicle assuming you have stands and Are blocking the remaining tires.

adino adonai I just got a 12 ton Jack stands for my 31 class A. I have been lucky and changed the tires in a pinch with the leveling Jack's but not safe practice. I will be replacing bags and shocks and was not going to consider working under it on leveling Jack's as they are made to fold up if you drive away with them down. Harbor Freight is less than 200$ is worth the safety of 12 ton of support.
