I shit you not gentlemen no RU-vid tutorial video, No how to guide, just unmatched caveman instinct. I jammed that red wire in the light plug ( I don’t know a lot about cars) and hoped it worked, and after 50 attempts. It turned on.
This works only if you're plugging into your head unit's reverse receptacle. Otherwise, you can attach (solder) the red power wire to your reverse light wire that is close to the reverse bulb and socket. Then you ground the black wire to metal on the car. Whenever you put your car in reverse, it will activate the reverse light bulb and the backup camera.
That red wire is a trigger wire to connect to your trigger at the front of the car. However, the other two wires are to connect to your rear reversing light, this will power the camera and you won't need the trigger.
@@tbogdane1610 I think it depends on the car and can bus. In my daughters Ford Focus the canbus tells the headunit it has shifted into reverse and so brings the screen up. This is with one of the aftermarket radio systems that is plug and play into the car's wiring looms etc.
I was trying to get through the rubber and I damaged the end of the cable. I decided to cut and run the wire because it was thinner, now I bought a new P2 power cable. Can I just cut it too and splice it to my old one? I saw that there are 3 wires.
I know this is old post, but im wondering how to fix a low voltage for the car. The back up camera works when its not running. But when you turn the engine ON, it will say NO SIGNAL. Simply the voltage drop. Need help please
Same problem here, with engine off it works, with engine on says no signal, BUT, if i remove the ground wite it will show some disruption in video but not working properly.. vw 2014
