Fitting Smart Rear Disc kit

Remove wheel then brake drum, held by retaining screw T30
Clamp flexi hose, or put polythene under brake master cylinder cap. Remove brake shoes, slave cylinder, brake pipe and fittings.
Remove handbrake cable from backplate by removing the clip securing it, when cable is removed from the backplate re-fit the clip to the cable. Unclip the cable from the DeDion tube and re-route over the DeDion tube between the shock absorber and hub. When disc fitting completed: Secure with cable ties, to DeDion tube and shock absorber to give the cable a smooth run
Remove the rear transverse steel brake pipe and fit cupro nickel pipe (supplied) to existing clips on De-Dion tube, if your clips are broken (common!) secure to DeDion tube with cable ties
Remove 21mm bolt from driveshaft
Using E14 socket remove the 4 bolts securing bearing carrier (drive flange) through hub - will need 'persuading' - then separate bearing carrier from backplate. Clean rust off hub mounting surface
Fit Adapter Plate between cleaned hub and bearing mount. Fit disc (having cleaned protective coating with Brake Cleaner), with retaining screw. Mount Caliper Bracket through Adapter Plate, with 16mm spacer between, using black M10 bolts supplied
Fit Handbrake Cable, using supplied adjuster to Caliper, then fit Flexi Hose, long left, right short to Caliper using banjo bolt and copper washers. Having connected Flexi hose, fit disc pads and Caliper
Ensure Handbrake Cable and Flexi follow a smooth line and secure to shock absorber with cable tie
When both sides are completed pump up and bleed brakes before handbrake adjusters
Take for CAREFUL test drive, re-bleed and re-adjust handbrake IF necessary. Brake pads and discs require 100+ miles to fully bed in. For the first few miles the pedal WILL be spongy
