Seventy percent of world agricultural land is already used for meat production. With every increasing consumer demands, can we produce sufficient animal protein in the future. With insects increasingly being explored as an important source of protein to substitute red meat, this film explores the role of the Giant Hornet, being reared for consumption in the hills of Nagaland in Northeast India

Really fascinating thanks for sharing. When your Nagaland wildlife photography workshop canceled because of covid and you watch green hub every day very underrated channel.

Will it be sustainable if they kill all the adult hornets when they harvest the nest? No wonder why the price is going up .. the hornets must be near to extinction in these areas.. action must be taken to ensure they thrive well and regulations to be made to prevent the loss of these hornets

Yes, I agree that there has to be a more sustainable way to not harm the queens during the harvest. But other than the hornet queens the rest of the hornets won't survive the winter anyway. Only the queens survive the winter the rest will just die off when winter comes. The queens will go into hibernation and will emerge to start a new colony in spring.

Hornet rearing has a great potential to increase farmers income in Nagaland the government should encourage and create awareness about it's benifts among the farmers.

These people are too afraid even they used gas stove I think because they lack experience and not so professional in rearing giant hornet
