Another solution: Original number minus the sum if its digits: 18 - (1+8) = 9 12 - (1+2) = 9

In 18, if we square the sum of the digits we get 9, similarly we can square the digits of 12 and get 9.

If that's called ability to recognize pattern than it means the candidate must think only according to how examiner wants , when this types of questions come students try everything to solve it but at the end what happen all the logic becomes illogical, like all your hard work gets in dust just becoz you can't think according to the examiner at that particular time🥴@ajyap2328

@@BeHumanFirst-Couldn’t agree more,in addition pattern recognition requires more than just 1 sample, this is not a test of cognitive ability. Give at least 2 samples to follow the pattern. He himself in the explanation uses hit and trial till he magically reaches the conclusion of using squares. That’s just hit and trial(brute force)not pattern recognition or cognition.

U got it right.😮 18/9as 12/x cross multiply9×12=198 divide by 18=6 common sense.2 9's=18 an 2 6's =12 😮 simple comparison.😊

By inspection, we can strike out the 3 extraneous answers except 9 because the answer should be less than 12.

So what simbol suppose to be in the middle a new sible meaning take the sqare of the top and subtract the denominator, i didn't know this operational symbol exists
