After watching Aravinda Sametha, I felt Agnathavasi was just a mistake. It was best movie I felt NTR acted in which was also message oriented. All the others hits of NTR were commercial mass masala movies. But this blended both mass and message really well. If not for Poojas acting, movie would have been perfection.

Trivikram and Mahesh decide to collaborate on a movie in early 2022. Idea is to start movie in Aug 2022 and Aug 2023 release. Trivikram worked for 6-8 months wrote a periodic action movie. Narration happened to Mahesh Babu and he liked it immensely and contrary to talk it is not based on History of Violence and they did not change it based on Leo result. Leo released on October 20th 2023 . It is practically impossible to change story in 3 months and release it . Rajamouli suggestion Coming back to what actually happened. So when everything is ready to go there was some delay due to Mahesh planning to do a holiday and unforeseen demise of Mahesh Babu father super star Krishna in November. Next start date was January and release date was October or December. Then Mahesh and Rajamouli conversation happened regarding their collaboration. Rajamouli suggested him to try and not do an action movie which was originally planned but instead do something like “Attarintiki Daaredi” or “Ala Vaikuntapuram lo” ie family drama with mass moments and release it for Sankranthi 2024 instead of 2023 because Mahesh- Rajamouli film will releaee in 2026 one of the strong reason Rajamouli mentioned is that it will be back to back action genre periodic movies if he goes aheas with old script of Trivikram which is not ideal. Change of Script Trivikram obliged and forced to reconcile (Not sure ) so he told “keerthi keeratalu “ novel one liner which Mahesh liked and gave a nod . But it was just an outline. At this point they had tremendous pressure to start shooting. So for namesake they shot opening shot in January 2023. There was no script. Trivikram then decided to build a characterisation and built guntur slang and did world building that he is Guntur Mirchi merchant thus the name “Guntur Kaaram” Then he had a vague idea of having a rival in market and took Jagapathi Babu for the role. Then they shot one fight alone. SS Thaman did bgm song then they released teaser on eve of Superstar Krishna birthday or Mahesh Birthday. So by May 2023 they just shot one fight scene and they had vague idea of conflict mother - son and hero characterisation. Next Trivikram told he will complete the script by Aug and they will go non stop from Aug-Dec and release it in January which itself is very ambitious. That's the reason everyone took Guntur Kaaram release lightly. Coming back to story by August only 50% of writing was completed ie good portions. Initial sequences All Face off scenes between Mahesh and Prakash Raj. Pre climax and climax sequences. Haridas episodes Etc. Then for first time SS Thaman got briefing about first song then he gave Gutur Kaaram title song. Then they started shooting those sequences and title song and completed it around October last week or Novermber first week. Then they released Guntur kaaram title song. Post production happened simultaneously. Now they had only 70 odd days to complete 40% talkie portion which was not even written and approved and 3 songs to be conceived So trivikram was writing and shooting all these portions. All these portions were underwhelming ie Mahesh-vennela kishore episode Mahesh -ajay episode Mahesh- srileela episodes etc Also same time he lost track on connecting jagapathi babu character to Prakash Raj so he wrote sunil character and reshot initial sequence again. By November last week he finally gave two more situations to SS Thaman and he did “Oh my Baby” and “mama “ songs both were undercooked and underwhelming but Thaman literally had no time to work. Then they had one more song and here they forced Thaman to collaborate with some third party to do Kurchi Madatha petti. They shot all songs except mama song and finished talkie portion by last week of December. Then finally they shot last song in January first week and they had first copy released just in time and released for Jan 12th as planned Who is responsible? Everyone . Rajamouli suggestion was taken very seriously . Mahesh changing his mind. Trivikram getting convinced . All of them forced to work with Jan 12 release in their minds all these are responsible factors.
