As a floridian born and raised, dont move here unless you want to drown in your own sweat even in January. The heat is no joke and it is by far the most humid state besides Hawaii. Not to mention the prices and amount of people are going up. I despise this horrible moist place. You honestly couldnt pay me to stay here in florida, im movin out ASAP➡️
I have to disagree, went to Hawaii in October, was never hot or sweaty. It was just the perfect temperature. I also visited in June a couple years ago and it was a little hotter but not nearly as hot or humid as Florida

Owned a vacation homein Florida for 25 years. Planned on retiring there but realized over the years that what once was a very affordable place to live became the exact opposite. Spent 3 years after retiring and sold in spring of 2022 for a 450% increase with a total net profit of 375%. So no, I have no regret as far as moving there. What I regret is the corruption and total mismanagement by Florida state, county, and municipal government and elected officials. I knew going into it their were long term issues but the last 5 years the corruption and cost to taxpayers is truly criminal. House was payed off in 15 years. The last 6 years we were paying more in property taxes, property insurance, flood insurance, and utilities than when we first bought for these expenses and had a 15 year mortgage combined. For what, Florida spends little money on its infrastructures. Our biggest dissapointment and the main reason we bailed was health care. Besides the increasing cost the quality of care has declined terribly even before the pandemic. We still spend 3 months in the winter renting in the same area for less than we would spend on the above annual expenses. No regrets on moving there or moving out.

Born and raised in Florida, live in central but most of my family is around the dade area. Honestly there’s easily worse places to live, while yes the summers can be hell we don’t have to deal with the bs that is snow and blizzards oh and we got hella land still undeveloped which makes for enjoyable scenery. As for the people tho that’s all hit or miss
Land that no one can afford, the everglades doesn't count as undeveloped and whatever land is left is already owned and waiting to be developed. Hope you like all those new "luxury" apartments on every corner, and the new strip mall. How bout a new publix down the street from another publix 😂. i grew up in south florida and everyday it gets more crowded from snowbirds moving down. Florida is not what it used to be.

@@Slamdick Idaho has better wages than Florida. I’ve been to Idaho a lot. There’s a lot of Eastern Europeans in Boise. My mom is from Eastern Europe originally and thousands of people from her country are there. They’re doing really good.
Absolutely agree. I love it here. Yes, ac is a must, but I so look forward to leaving my office and soaking in that heat AND sweltering humidity. I love it here.
I remember my first time visiting Florida, I came from the Pacific Northwest, the moment I walked out of the airport 😮 got hit with that THICK SWAMP AIR! Literally felt like a sauna. Took me a day to regulate my breathing down there but damn, that’s my first memory.

Love my Colorado mountains and the diversity of landscape! The view from 12-13k ft is astounding, nothing flat here and changing variety of water, trees, weather and opportunity for outdoor adventure. I’ve been to Florida a lot, nice to visit. But I’ll keep my mountains

@Daniel King of course, there are worse places to live. There will always be a far worse place. It's clear you're either old and on blood thinners, so the heat is welcome. Maybe you're dehydrated or don't actually have to be out in the heat for long. This is no way to live, that's a fact.

Lived in Florida all my life. We do have four seasons here. Warm, warmer, hot & humid and finally coolish. Years ago I was so cold here I said I never complain again about the heat.
Me, a Minneapolis MN resident who has stayed long-term in Florida many times, absolutely laughing at the spoiled comments of Floridians who think Florida is expensive, crowded, has bad weather, bad mosquitoes, crime, traffic, high cost of living, poor food options, and dangerous wild animals 😂 I'll grant you the wild animals part, and complaints about the public schooling there, but absolutely nothing else. The only really bad part of Florida is the rude people,crazy drivers and the intense 110 degrees summer weather and the hurricanes. Otherwise I love the humidity the climate the smell of the trees (idk why but they smell kinda like pizza if anyone agrees) the feeling of the air the scenery and the life. It’s just… Great. Such a nice break from the 6 months of dreadful cold we get up here in Western NYS. Oh and the nice people.
Hurricanes, tropical storms, excessive heat if you don't have a car and have to walk to a bus stop, and worrying about alligators and snakes in your yard if you don't live in an urban area of Florida.

@@Jonas_Campbell I like going to Johnson beach. There is also a beach I go to by boat that I really like, has big dunes you get to ride down on a boogie board I forgot the name to it though. I like just about every beach though down here.
