If it's not made in North America it will never be sold in the US because of the chicken tax. Looks like a unibody construction, since it's based on the RAV4, which means it'll be front wheel drive, so it's not a real truck. That being said, that blue king cab look awesome. I can see myself in one, as long as it has AWD and no CVT
when the 8k pickups from 8 different companies roll out, stout will take a back seat to its own 5k pu along with fords 5k pu. the 8k pickups are many. just when will they arrive?
I won't buy a vehicle with turbos, GDI without port injection, or sleazy mechanical CVT. My next vehicle will probably have the 2.5 liter hybrid used in the Camry hybrid. But in a SUV or Crown. They mentioned that the Stout would also get this as an option. Or maybe the 2 liter Prius version. They can always increase the electric resources if needed for truck duty. These hybrids give you most of the electric car goodness, without the electric car drawbacks. Plus great fuel economy. Many have good 0 to 60 mph performance. My 2012 Camry hybrid could do 60 in 7.4 seconds (based on 2 car magazine reviews). And also give 40 mpg city or highway.
I like it. A 2 door hybrid with modern comforts and conveniences would be a nice upgrade from my 2 door Silverado. I sure wish America could figure out how to make a good looking and affordable 2 door truck that gets great gas mileage. America invented pickup trucks and 2 doors were the standard for half a century. Both of my Grandfathers drove 2 door pickup trucks; and both of those old 2 door trucks are still cherished family members. It's absolutely shameful that America is letting Japan spank our bare bottoms like schoolyard bullies when it comes to making affordable, efficient 2 door pickups. Absolutely shameful. 😞
Yeah, this is kind of Clickbait. Toyota has confirmed the Stout will be available at the end of 2024. You can expect the starting price to be around 29,000 realistically for the base model. Subaru and Mazda are coming out with similar trucks that I expect will be a little bit less expensive but offer similar features.
BS The Corolla has been absolute crap since the 2014 redesign. transmissions repalaced twice, A/C unti replaced, Stereo replaced as well as wiring, and lower gas mileage than before. Toyota is not quality anymore
Toyota quit building good vehicles. I will keep the 2 we own for another 10 years or 200,000 miles then jumping brands. I’ve owned Toyotas since the 70’s but after the Tundra and Tacoma fiasco…
Almost every Toyota you buy is made in Mexico now terrible quality and control mechanic that fix my 2003 camry said don’t buy one Honda or Nissan is what he said
Still calling BS on this and the Subaru. And if it has 4 engine options that’ll be in free countries not the US. The US has ridiculous epa rules that leave us with the worst fuel economy in the world.
