You gave many examples of what turns a buyer away, but skipped the main reason that I avoid an item: no measurements. One brands XL could be another's Medium. I should NEVER have to reach out to a seller to request measurements. Can you imagine buying a car online that didn't mention make, model, color or age? Seriously! You want to sell it, give the buyer the best possible description, and that requires measurements.

Its not, I just shared my closet then did a search for all my NWT listings and they all came up right at the top of the search. If you have a NIKE SPORTS BRA, and someone types that into search, you bra, as long as you have been sharing so as its not all hidden by more active users, your item will show in searches regardless of if it has NWT or not. Nwt wont boost your sales but its not hurting it either. Also its not really taking up space as any terms in the discription are also searchable along with the style tags.

and the hat you were talking about that said NEW!! , you were looking at it as the listing being new, where i think its talking about the hat itself is New. and you said, yeah well it already says NWT in the listing, but it doesnt really jump out at you. so again, when someone is just scrolling fast, they see NEW! amongst ones that dont, they will probably prefer the new one. these tips are great, but alot of them seem to be based on JUST searching results. when usually im just scrolling and finding people closets and items etc. its not often i search for a specific item. of corse people do, but take into account, sometimes people are just scrolling thru the feed. so adding eye catching things in title as well as good info isnt always bad i dont think
@karissakampe5858
@karissakampe5858 Год назад
or to add on that, i sell on both poshmark and ebay, and i think the tips your giving are really great for selling on ebay. because ebay is def more searching based rather than scrolling thru peoples closets, if that makes sense. just something to keep in mind
@karissakampe5858
@karissakampe5858 Год назад
okay one more thing, and i hope i dont come across as just totally disagreeing with whatever youre saying hahah but i just keep thinking about things. so generally speaking, i agree with having the background removed to white. i think if its against a white wall,etc, thats okay if the lighting is good. but on the other hand, for some aesthetic items like that kate spade purse at the end, i think having an appealing background that makes it aesthetically pleasing, may be better than just plain white when it comes to unique or colorful items, sometimes. back in the old poshmark day, they wanted you to have a whole stylized background with other items of clothing that would go with that outfit. so maybe im stuck in those times,but i think sometimes its okay to have a non white background, such as that natural wood background, i think the contrast looks nice,
@NicoleRossiVlogs
@NicoleRossiVlogs Год назад
Yeah i mean i think people can take my tips with a grain of salt. i think it doesn’t add a ton of value to put NEW in the title of it’s a new listing because i’m adding new items everyday and unless i have someone who is constantly looking at my closet everyday to find “NEW” listed items, i don’t see the value in it personally. But if it works for you, that is totally awesome and don’t let me stop you from doing what works for you. everyone has different things that work for them!

@karissakampe5858 Год назад
@@NicoleRossiVlogs well again, i think when most people put "NEW!!" they are referring to the item there posting being a new, un-used item, nwt, etc. not so much that its a new addition to they're closet or whatever, but either way still some great tips, i enjoyed the video!

I’m a year late but the Taylor Swift cd is NOT a typo and is actually worth that if it is the original 2006 pressing. That cd contains a lyric that was controversial even at the time. Even before she started re-recording, that lyric was changed and re-recorded so it’s hard to find. TS collectors will pay though. Edited to add: The cds you see on amazon selling now for $14 are newer pressings with the changed lyric.

What are your thoughts on using emojis when running a sale in your closet? I use emojis in front of titles of items that I want to put on sale when I don’t want everything included. 🌸
@NicoleRossiVlogs
@NicoleRossiVlogs Год назад
I used to do this but then having to go back through and delete the emojis from those listings was a hassle. i think again the same logic applies here though, when someone goes to search for that item in the search on poshmark, if there is an emoji in the title it may not come up in the search. So it depends. Personally i just avoid using emojis in the title. there isn’t any good way to do a sale though unless maybe you put a banner ad listing in the front of the sale listings and then at the end and shared them in that order but i know that would be confusing if they were filtering your closet. I wish there was a better way to have an item marked as a “sale” item because putting things in the title is distracting and hurts the SEO of the item!

Sharing does 2 things: puts in the news feed of your followers. However most people don’t shop from their news feed. Second, moves you to the top of search results because Poshmark search results default to the filter “Just Shared” The more recently you shared the better. However frequent shoppers may sort by Just In which is newly listed items. Imho number of followers means nothing.

So I have a question. When doing a silent auction, how do I get my listings to show the listing pics in a slideshow type manner? I’ve done both lives and silents but not for awhile. I was considering doing both this weekend but want my silent to be more engaging. Can you help please? I was on one of your silents and I love how the pics showed.
@NicoleRossiVlogs
@NicoleRossiVlogs Год назад
So the slideshow for silent auctions should happen automatically when you click on the item from the deck and click auction. If it doesn’t go atomically, make sure your app is updated. In terms of making the silent auctions more engaging, i recommend trying to comment to the people in the live. ask them what they are looking for, ask them where they are from or just get personal with them. Tell stories and be relatable. i think another great thing you can do is while doing a silent, you can use the audio feature and actually talk to the members in the live via voice. that itself makes it engaging without having to be on camera. hope that helps!

Photo Room works well to remove backgrounds fast. Many buyers are swiping on their phone. Some online say neutral background helps with pre-owned items such as shoes. Taking photos at angles can make blue jeans look shorter and wider than normal. I put nwt or euc at end of my title. Use 4 hashtags in description of brand and search string.

Thank you for your video. I agree with a great deal of it, but on a few things, I'd like to present some ideas of my own, which are not really my ideas, but ideas I have incorporated from other people over the years. I hope you don't mind, seeing as how it's your video. The first item you showed could also be improved by a more contrasting background. White on white is never a good idea. You want your item to pop. You also don't want a background that blends into your item, making it difficult to see. I've seen some items that are almost impossible to pick out from the background, particularly when the color scheme of the overall picture is pretty much the same. One thing to keep in mind when using Photoroom (and I do use it, depending on what I am listing) is that you have to be careful because it will sometimes white out portions of your item, particularly with fringe and other items of very fine endings, or white items. I've seen some listings where the seller didn't check their whited-out version before uploading it, which them look really funky and weird, but also inaccurate. I don't have a problem with your upper photo #2, as everyone knows what a shirt looks like, so being at a slight angle isn't going to change anyone's perception of what a shirt looks like. The real problem with #2 is that the two pictures do not match color-wise. Which is the true color? The top one or the bottom one? I would suspect the top one is the correct color and the bottom one has too much exposure. I run across this problem all the time. The far-away shots appear more natural, while the closer shots are more washed out, which leads to extra editing, which takes time. I still have problems with this. And as far as the first shot being a perfect 90-degree angle to the camera, some items, like hats (like the one you show) benefit from being shot at an angle. And anything that has a 3-dimensional aspect to it will give it more depth if shot from a slight angle, which will give it a truer appearance than if just shot straight on. To elaborate on NWT items-In the listing process, in the condition box, you are given a choice of several options including NWT. When you choose NWT, the Poshmark itself puts NWT in the upper right-hand corner of the text part of the listing, as you pointed out, so you don't really have to say NWT anywhere in your listing or title other than in the condition box. Regarding putting the whole item in the first picture, there are certainly a differing opinions on the matter, and both sides have their value. However, in regards to the shirt that shows only a close-up of the upper torso area, as a buyer, I actually prefer this kind of a shot, because I instinctively know that the bottom of the shirt will look like the top half of the shirt. However, if the bottom, say, has a rounded hem, I would want to show that in the first picture; therefore, the shirt in its entirety. Another reason to show only the upper torso area in the first picture is if there is some kind of embroidery or something unusual there, or, in this case, the polo player-anything that makes it unordinary, showing it's not just a regular shirt. If there is something unordinary in the upper torso part of the shirt, that's what I would want to see in the first picture, as a buyer. It's the same with T-shirts. Everyone knows what a T-shirt looks like, especially an unadorned one, with nothing on it that makes it stand out. So, in my view, what's the point of showing the entire shirt, as it all looks the same? But if it has some sort of graphic or writing on the front, or even the back, (everything else being plain), that is what I would highlight in the first picture-yes, even the back side with a close-up of the graphic. People buy graphic T-shirts because of the graphic, and the better they can see the graphic in the first picture, the more likely they are to continue into the listing. I do agree that dresses and other long items should be shown full-sized, although I am not turned off when I see a pair of pants with the legs folded over to make it more square-looking so it fits in the square picture better. It's not the most professional presentation, but I am not bothered by it, although I do not do it myself. Normally, I would hang it on a hanger and shoot it full-on as you suggest, unless . . . the pants has fancy patterns on the back pockets that set it apart from regular unadorned jeans, I will highlight that in the first picture because everyone knows what the rest of a pair of pants looks like, particularly with jeans. The thing about CDs -they sell. One particular Taylor Swift CD (I don't recall if the one you show is the one) is actually worth that kind of money. But if it if is that particular one, you'd definitely want that in the title. You don't just want to put a big price on one without telling the reason why, as in this case. A friend of mine, who has sold thousands of CDs, if not hundreds of thousands, actually bought a second home to house his office, just from the profits of selling CDs. They sell, but you have to know WHAT to sell and what not to sell. With lesser value CDs, you can bundle them together by author or genre and get more money than what you would get if you sold them separately, even if they are by best-selling artists. I have done this myself with my own personal collection. (I need to do more of it.) Plus, I have sold some of my friend's CDs for some pretty good money because of the rarity of them. There are a lot of collectors out there. But you have to do your homework, which goes well beyond checking out sold comps on the internet. And, surprisingly, cassettes, LPs, even 8-tracks, sell; but, again, it takes some pretty serious homework. So, really, at least in my opinion, what goes in the first picture depends on what is being sold.

Your video short for fake & real D&B bags. What about the Florentine leather bags? Are the interior tags different?

Hmm, i would think they work in a similar way but i’m not 100% sure. I would recommend googling how to determine that, i’m sure you can find it pretty quickly on the web!

Thank you for information I have to let you know why something is important to add new in the title in poshmark. We bought stuff like shoes or clothes but something coming without the box or tag or it is damage and without the box or tag, we can't put nwt on the description so is important to let a potential buyer that the item it is new and also add in the description box that it is new without box or tag

Hi all, can anyone answer the question? If Poshmark fees are 2.95 for sales under 15.00 then how does the live show that has starts at 3.00 make money? I don't understand, anyone please answer this.

Hi there. In those cases you are literally making 5 cents on the sale, which to me seems pointless because idk how you can profit on that. In a lot of those cases, the item gets auctioned and ends up selling higher than $3.
