I'll watch anything with Jared Harris in it(the other actors look great as well), but surely they can do an intriguing trailer without giving away so much of the film. I get the sense I could watch the last 10 minutes and I'd know the whole thing. It's a tragic tendency nowadays...
I understand that this is supposed to be a psychological thriller, and there's probably more to it than what we see in the trailer, but all I could think was, "DNA testing exists lol"
Clearly at least part of the dynamic here is that the wife doesn't want to question the "daughter's" return, so she would reject strongly any attempt by the husband to do DNA testing, or maybe even listening to results if they were obtained. The daughter too is probably likely to be very careful against leaving any traces. But also, there seem to be hints that the father has ulterior motives for casting doubt on the daughter. He might be less interested in "proving" things one way or the other and more interested in undermining her credibility in case she remembers any unpleasant memories about the past.
I don’t want to ruin this movie but surely if your child disappeared for 10 yrs with the authorities searching for her and she reappeared they’d at least do a DNA test 🤷♀️
Of course but the point is that probably the Mother is adamantly against with the exuse of not traumatizing her but in fact not to shatter her own hopes
Father is begging for daughter to come home & when she does (??) all he can do accuse & doubt her instead of hugging her and THEN GET DOWN TO THE QUESTIONS. HEAVEN KNOWS THE SUPPOSED DAUGHTER HAS A LOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO !!!😮
