Speaking from someone with a disabled child & husband this would have been a blessing for me. My husband has passed away but I still care for my daughter. I spent many days & nights on a hospital chair, without meals, much sleep, a shower, sometimes with my youngest with me. I've done this for 36 years. A place like this gives caregivers the support they greatly need so they are able to better care for their love ones! Thank you Reba! You & all your donors are awesome! May we have a place like this one day.

I stayed there with my grandparents when my mom was very sick in the hospital in Denison. She had breast cancer for the second time and was nearing the end of her life. They had lots of food for us and every accommodation we could ask for when we really needed it. My mom passed away that week right after my 7th grade year and it meant so much to us to have a place to stay that was close by the hospital when we had been sleeping in hospital and waiting rooms for a few nights. Everyone was so nice and it felt like a little community there. This place will always be close to my heart and so will Reba ❤

I had a baby hospitalized hundreds of miles from home. After not getting a wink of sleep or a decent meal in 6 days I was offered a room at Ronald McDonald House for one night. I gladly accepted. Unfortunately I had to wash and dry all the bedding in the room, clean out the fridge and offer a cash donation before I left (price of 6 hours of sleep). Reba I hope your ranch house is kinder to people. Bless you.

Great hospital and staff. Took a classmate there that was having chest pains. They had him in a bed with a monitor on him before I could get the car parked. Had his problem diagnosed the next day, surgery the next. His doctor was a student in high school of another classmate. I was invited to stay at Reba's House but choose to drive back home. Thanks Reba.

How amazing that people do actually see the caregivers and the toll it often takes on them physically and mentally while taking care of loved ones. I honestly believe this is the first time I have seen anything like this! My husband is a 100% disabled Veteran. He’s had six major back surgeries. We almost lost him with his last one which lasted over 18 hours. He was in SICU for 5 days on a ventilator. I refused to leave his side except during shift change and at night. I tried staying one night and just had a hard fold out chair. I would sleep in my car some nights waiting for morning. I felt lost without my husband but also didn’t want to go anywhere to have to be all alone. You often forget in order to take care of your loved ones you have to also care for yourself. Such an awesome thing your doing Reba 🥰 Thank You!!! And BTW I still watch Reba on Hulu when I get in bed. More then my husband can tolerate sometimes 😂 God Bless you 🙌🏻👏🏻🙌🏻👏🏻

I purposely custom built a lake side home for seniors suffering with Dementia and End of Life issues. For 10 years I lived with and took care of dying people. I have 89,112 hours of experiences over 40 long term care Residents and 22 people dying in the home under hospice services. I grew up in a family where my brother had many medical issues and surgeries. Just the daily hospital parking rate was $7 a day - my Mom was living in the hospital room to help the nurses at the physicians request! My Dad worked as a welder during the day, would come home, shower and dress and take me a my 2 older brothers to visit every night. There were some nights we stayed at the hospital and slept in the floor because my brother was in ICU and my parents were told he would not make it through the night. My brother Ralph died when I was 10 years old...40 years ago and those times helped shape and form my long term care dream...I lived my dream and became a credible community resource. I’m writing a book called “God’s Waiting Room”, how can a small town southern girl find lake side property and build a home to serve those in need until they die...at the end of a road called “Legion Lake”! Nothing but God! Thank you Reba for caring for the caregivers of the family with the heavy burdens of loving someone that is unwell, sick. Due to severe Domestic Violence and a attempt against my life, a corrupt Judge, murder threats and stalking I had to flee the country for safety. You never know how things will turn out...but you just keep praying.
