Watch THE Rebecca Ferguson interview that has gone viral, where the 'Dune' movie star reveals a former co-star once screamed at her on set and whilst it left her in tears she used her voice and stood up for herself demanding she act to the back of their head for the rest of the shoot. Listen to the her full story, in her words on my podcast Reign here: hyperurl.co/i4yxt0 and you can watch more of the interview on the 'Reign' RU-vid channel here: • Dune 2's Rebecca Fergu... where she also talks about 'Dune: Part Two', the lessons she learnt from Timothee Chalamet and how she initially turned director, Denis Villeneuve for the role of Lady Jessica!

You can tell she still feels emotional recalling this experience. People don't understand the impact they have on other's mental health. I had a similar experience with a coworker, he screamed at me and asked how did I even get the job. Every time I saw him I would tremble, because I would have never expected that behavior in my job environment. I also felt so bad, because this person implied that all my achievements were a fluke. Later on I understood that he was dumping all his stress on me. We should learn that when someone treat us like shit it's more a reflection of them than us

I had a similar moment to this in my first career. I had a supervisor, who wasn't very competent. But he'd been with the company long enough that he had seniority. And, I was a junior tech. He would berate me, insult me constantly. On this one job, where I was working with him all day, constantly receiving his vitriol, I went home and just cried for an hour or so. The next day, on the same job, he started up with his remarks, and I snapped. I explained in no uncertain terms what he could do with his words, and where he could go. It shocked and silenced him. The main boss came to me, and didn't reprimand me. But advised me to take a break, and pull myself together as we needed to be professional. I followed his advice, took a short break, and got back to work. The guy who was always talking down to me, never said another insult or condescending word to me again. I'd forgotten all about that incident. That was 30 years ago. Thank you Rebecca for that trip down memory lane!

There’s been a lot of speculation about who it could have been (she outright excluded both Tom Cruise and Hugh Jackman, and The Rock was quick to get on Twitter and have her back on it - which would be such a piece of shit thing to do if it were him). I’m just over here hoping it’s not Jake Gyllenhaal on the film LIFE. He seems like he takes his craft very seriously and is high intensity in the right part (like Nightcrawler). And their press interactions aren’t as cozy as she is with some of her other co-stars. I’d be so let down if it were him. No matter who it is, I’m glad she did what she did and I hope that they’re trembling in fear of other people they’ve worked with coming forward with similar stories about their behavior and how outright dismissing her in this manner could put an end to their career doing so well.

I know it’s technically a TV series and not a “film” like she said but it’s really more like multiple TV movies, each season only had three episodes because each episode was basically a feature length film, and she was the costar in only one episode, so it was basically like doing one film for her. And Kenneth Branagh was first on the call sheet as the title character. This was back in 2008 when she was just beginning to break out of Sweden and into English-language film and television

@@sogiki ehh sometimes and while my guess is with Hugh Grant, I wouldn’t rule him out when he’s a pretentious Thespian™ and goes full ham in films like Tenet and his Poirot films. Dude’s not as great of an actor as he thinks he is. Ik some of you loved Belfast, haven’t seen it but he directed it and doesn’t star so I wouldn’t praise him all that much. But I too hope isn’t as bad as his reputation says he is. Not a fan of his performance as Hamelt though, the film is okay as an interpretation however.

I think it's safe to assume it happened before she got increasingly famous. I also think the person was not a main character because they wouldn't be referred to as "first on the call sheet". So someone she had scenes with, played a side character but were famous or well connected enough to be favoured by production.

All comments here are talking about big international A-list names, but it's most likely from her years in Sweden, with someone you guys never heard of. And yes, it's not only possible it was a woman, it might also be more likely. She never studied at some fancy acting school and went straight from soap opera to the movies. That could easily stir up some jealousy in the small swedish pond of actors. The line "You call yourself an actor?" is the key. It's not said by a big Hollywood star. It's said by someone who feels threatened. It's said by someone who has been studying at some theatre academy, perhaps also been working at some theatre and now is annoyed out of his or, probably, her mind to work alongside someone that's only been in a soap opera.

I hadn’t actually heard what she said, only summarizations of it. Hearing it now, she’s very careful not to say whether it was a man or woman, she just says, “This person.” She never genders it, so it’s very interesting that the assumption is it’s a male actor (unless she has confirmed it was a male actor somewhere else).
@sicklygreyfoot
@sicklygreyfoot 2 месяца назад
It speaks to how clever she is, because she doesn't even let the gender slip. Keeps the language totally androgynous throughout. You could speculate it's a male because the names she assuages us about are male, but that isn't even close to concrete. But I agree w/ you. It could very easily be female.

It's not Cruise, Gyllenhaal, Jackman, or Johnson. People assume it's Hugh Grant but he wasn't number one on the call sheet for Florence Foster Jenkins. My guess is it's probably a smaller actor, maybe from her time doing movies in Sweden. And it could be an actress, she never specifies
@bebop2523

I think it could be Kenneth Branagh. She co-starred in an episode of Wallander with him, it was her first non-Swedish production, and he is known to have a big ego. I know she says “film“ and Wallander is a TV series but each of the episodes is basically a TV movie, it had very high production value and high budget for a TV show and they only did three episodes per season because of this.

I can understand why she did this and it was the right move. When you get a 'Diva' blaming other actors for their inability to perform, they are crossing a line and need to be talked to by the directors/producers. If it is the actor that I think it is, then he's been incapable of performing for years and is living off his reputation and the ability of others to make him look good, all whilst blaming them for his own failure.

@@pyrosiumofficialactually I highly doubt it was Hugh Grant. I've met him when he was supporting fostering and adopting at an event and I know people who worked on things with him and he's a genuinely nice guy. He just doesn't tolerate idiots. They're paid well to do what they do and someone constantly screwing up throws EVERYTHING off with schedule. It also makes everyone look bad. If he was having a go at her she didn't know her lines/cues and was screwing up and forcing multiple retakes. But these women never admit they were in the wrong. Any time anyone snaps at they're incompetence they play victim. Just look at the #MeAsWell movement. Amber heard Evan Rachel wood and the the liars accusing Marilyn Manson. Most of the time it comes out that these women are straight up liars or massively exaggerating and glossing over that they did something to instigate it. Like the women who hit men regularly but if he hits her she loses it plays the victim calls the police and tries to ruin his life. They never tell the cops or the press that they hit him 30 times before he reacted.
