Such a great singer! I miss her. I saw her sing live, frequently , in the Boston area, and she was a gem to listen to! We'd speak briefly after her shows and she was always humble. I was saddened when she passed. R.I.P Rebecca ⛪.
She grabs the notes and the lyrics with total command. She nearly takes the tune from Frank Sinatra to make it her own, not an easy, and likely impossible, feat. I am sure she lives on in other vocalists listening to and emulating her talented techniques. Hey Rebecca Parris, I hear you!!
I was blessed to see Rebecca perform at several Ken Hadley shows when the band used to perform in Marshfield, MA on Sunday afternoon. What a treat. The band always smoked and would take it to the next level when Rebecca would show up. Ken did an outstanding job playing and managing this large ensemble, filling the band with many of Boston's finest, world class, jazz artists. If your fortunate enough to have a copy of the album entitled "Beautiful Friendship" featuring Rebecca with The Ken Hadley Big Band, you own a rare historic gem. Rebecca sang as well as any of the greats and is undeniably one of Boston's greatest jazz artists and vocalist. Rest in peace and thank you for some wonderful memories of outstanding performances, bringing much joy to the soul, the spirit and the craft.
@@makpjazz57 Hey there Marla Down here in FL. Is Scullers planning to start up again post Covid I hope? We will stop in and say hello and see a show when it’s safe to travel again. Cheers! Tony
@@tonyparis6765 just seeing this. We're open and I was promoted to Artistic Director. Please stop by and let me know in advance when you're in Boston or RI.
She was the absolute BEST jazz singer of my lifetime! I was so lucky to live in Boston where she performed regularly. I look forward to her work becoming known far and wide as deserved! This song is a luscious sample.
This is really a genius level performance. Ive never heard her be so totally in command...all the details only contribute to the total experience...super special.
Rebecca Parris owns this tune and many others. I heard her sing it with Smith Dobson behind her in San Jose, CA, and--Wow--no one reaches the feeling faster and deeper than she does. When the expressions "Don't hold Back" and "Give 100%" were coined, the coiners must have been thinking of Rebecca Parris. Will love her forever!
One of the best vocals I have ever heard by anyone, including the Divine One, Sarah Vaughan. Parris's Embracable You was the first I heard of her, on the radio about 20 years ago, and made me want to look her up.
Nice solo by the great Dave Chapman on Lead Alto! I miss performing with Rebecca and the Kenny Hadley Big Band from 1996-2000 when I was stationed in Boston with the USAF Bands...Great clip!
Christmas has come early! Thanks for posting this. I am a true Rebecca Parris fan who thoroughly appreciates her ev'ry beguiling musical utterance. She's heads above any of the lauded artists who rack in grammy awards and pose on red carpets. But for those who really know what to listen for, Rebecca Parris is at the head of the list. Hope she returns to the SfBay area soon.
I had a Beautiful day today with the folks, then this evening before bed, Rebecca,All My Bright Tomorrows . Belong To You.HOPE,LOVE,PURE JOY, is what I feel when I hear this song sung by Rebecca Parris Thank You for this GIFT =) =) =)

Today I may not have a thing at all except for just a dream or two But I've got lots of plans for tomorrow and all my tomorrows belong to you Right now it may not seem like spring at all, we're drifting and the laughs are few But I've got rainbows planned for tomorrow, and all my tomorrows belong to you No one knows better than I that luck keeps passing me by ... that's fate But with you there at my side, I'll soon be turning the tide ... just wait As long as I've got arms that cling at all, it's you that I'll be clinging to And all the dreams I dream, beg, or borrow on some bright tomorrow they'll all come true And all my bright tomorrows belong to you
Just happened to come across this fabulous artist, and this song I adore. Keep playing over and over....reminds me of years gone by and my husband was still living...........how it touches my heart. Sad she's gone...
Oceanside Ca ?? where I used to live, just curious? I caught 'Rebecca Paris at 'Steamers Jazz Cafe' in Fullerton, Ca 'one evening & 'Luv'd her performance...
She is such a great singer. The sound quality in this video doesn't do her justice but it is still really great (and I love Frank but she does this song better....I know that's almost sacrilege but its the truth)!
Great rendition. Listen to Sinatra's version of this. He did it first. Frank Sinatra Jr. was asked in an interview to choose one song that was his father's best recording, and he said "All My Tomorrows."
Somebody mop me up from off the floor...that lady can sing! Never heard of her before...and, now want to marry her. She can sing to me every night, I'll provide massages, candles, wine and chocolates. Just contact me, Rebecca, and I'll be on the next flight.
